Given your comment on the X99, I assume you're tendering to South Queensferry, rather than any of the other Edinburgh locations.

I'd wait and get the Royal Edinburgh Ticket from the Edinburgh Bus Tours ticket sellers at the end of the pier.  They will sell both the X99 ticket and any of the HoHo tickets, and take cards and cash.  If there is any reason you don't make it, then you've not wasted your money, and you'll have to speak to them anyway to get the X99 tickets.

Completing all three attractions and two of the HoHo routes (the red and the green one are essentially the same, and I always recommend taking the live guided green route rather than the pre-recorded red one) is a very full day.  It's possible, but you need to be quite slick with your timings if you're to spend sufficient time at each attraction.

If it's the same next year as this, the X99 ticket lets you free on all the city buses and tram all day; if you think you'll be a bit short of time, consider using the tram (or a city bus) to get either to or from The Royal Yacht Britannia, as it'll be quicker than the HoHo bus.

Thanks for the info.  It was very helpful. I have been to Edinburgh before my sister and niece have not.  I really wanted to get tickets on shore because I have heard that the tender sometimes can’t run due to weather and that way like you said we won’t be out the money.  We really on focusing on Edinburgh castle and Holyrood palace.  We would only do the Yacht if we had time. I have been. So it’s not a big deal if we miss it. It basically free with the ticket when you add it all up.

  2. Hi

i am wondering if anyone has booked the Edinburgh Bus Tours HOHO Royal Edinburgh ticket that included admissions to Edinburgh Castle , Holyrood Palace and Royal Yacht Britannia plus all three bus routes?  If so did you buy it at the port or first stop or ahead of time online. It’s part of the tours sister buses to the X99 bus that runs from the port.  I am just trying to figure out our best options.

    thanks

Follow up. We were in Dublin on a Sunday and the first Dart did not leave until 9 19 am so we took the bus which was sitting right outside train station at a cost of 2.60 per person. Took 20 min and left at 8 20 am. Dropped off very near to Trinity College and took train from Pearse back to pier. Lovely city. Spent whole day walking city seeing all the sights.

Was the bus part of the leap card or did your have to pay separately? Also what cruise line were you with?

  4. We are looking in to this for our British Isles cruise next summer.  I am very familiar with the UK so I know transportation options, it might come down to the convinces of  booking it all through Princess.  But we will also look at what it will cost on our own. We are planing to do 3 nights in London before hand.

We had a group of 10 put together from our roll call. One couple wanted to see a synagogue that was not on the tour; it was ok with Alla as long as there were no objections, which there were not. My DW is an art teacher and wanted to skip lunch entirely and put the extra time into the Hermitage. That did have objections of course, but there was a compromise to take some of the lunch time away and add it to the Hermitage.

When the tour started our guide (who has since opened her own agency SPB tours) asked if there was anything not on the tour that anyone wanted to see. I replied that I had read that the subway stops were interesting. She took us to a few subway stops having our driver meet us.

    Hi

We would like to add the faberge museum there is one place  the second day we are willing to switch out and skip the restaurant lunch.

Do you email them before to discuss changes you would like or do you just do it when they pick you up for the tour?

  6. Hi

we just booked a cruise for December 2022. My last cruise on carnival was 2021. I found my old number, but could log into an account, so I started a new one and was assigned a new number.  Is there a way to merge the 2 numbers so I get credit for my other cruise or is it too old?

sorry if this was asked already some where. I tried to search.

    thanks

I'm sure you will get to Bermuda and love it as much as we do.  Yes we also like the empress just not the small cabins.   Wish she had some balconies other than suites.  As you said she is an elegant ship.

Bermuda is one of my favorite ports. We are actually book on a NCL to Bermuda the week before our New England and Canada cruise nexT July Sort of back to back.  We had Bermuda this summer since that didn’t happen we moved it to the week before the one we had booked for 2021 since they both go out of the nyc. Area. If you do get their you should look up by way tours. Heidi does an amazing all day tour.

I didn't check if they would offer it next year, but Empress was the only ship for instance that could sail up to Montreal. Since demand will anyway not receover by then, all Empress itinararies would be cancelled in that scenario and not replaced.

Given that colder water is better for cold layup, it is strange in case Emrpess is heading direction Malta. Maybe she really is finally on her last journey.

Ours wasn’t going to Montreal cape liberty round trip. Saint Jon’s and Halifax are the only Canada ports and they have 3 other ships sailing that route other times in the year.  So I guess we will wait and see. At this point I am not even sure there will ever be cruise again.

  9. Hi

we just rebook our Bermuda cruise from this year to next summer. We are in the same area of the ship bump out balcony 11946 and at the bottom of the booking it says This cabin has an enclosed balcony.  I don’t remember seeing that before. Looking at pictures of the ship I don’t see it looking different from escape or encore.

What is your hotel budget range?  Cruise date?  Number of people?  Do you have a car?

I am originally from the nyc area so I am expecting to pay less than $300 a night. It would be July 11th  2021. 3 people no car. I am okay staying near the airport.

The closest hotels to Cape Liberty are about 8 miles away.  Coming from the Manhatan Cruiseport, the closest hotels are in Jersey City.  The Newark Airport hotels are a bit further away, but offer more Laundry options.  Having your car opens up the possibility of the Secaucus hotels.

So please answer the above questions so we can give you the appropriate advice.
