    Two options:

    1) get a comfortable air mattress (need to be tested pre-cruise by Dad for his approval) and put it outside on balcony for him to sleep.

    2) after the first night on board approach Guest Services and plead your case … can they find a spare room for Dad to sleep in at nights and you’ll gladly pay for it.

IMHO I think you’re quite crazy to have booked a single two bedroomed Haven cabin for no less than three adult couples, sorry.

Hopefully one or the other or both of the above options will help.

I think it's called inexperienced not "crazy".

  2. We have done dozens of B2B cruises and have never been required to get off the ship. Primarily Royal Caribbean and Celebrity, in South America, Europe, Iceland/Greenland/Cape Liberty, and US/Canada.

A few days before the turn around the B2B cruisers will be notified of a meeting and will then be advised of the process. You will also be advised of when you turn in your sea pass card and when you get the new one. If you like to sleep late, you can't on turn around day, typically you will be out at to the designated area by 8:00AM.

B2B is my favorite way to cruise!

    B2B2B2B2B is even better!!

  3. It is really unfortunate that NCL knows there is a serious problem with those cabins, and are choosing to not fix the problem. I don't for a minute believe that the ship would have to go into dry dock for the problem cabin structures to be fixed.

Our very first cruise was on RCCL Rhapsody of the Seas, 22 nights Sydney to Honolulu.

We were in a grand suite, and the first night we were kept awake all night by lots of banging and creaking. We reported the problem the second day in the AM. Two guys were sent to investigate the noise, and they were both there for over 3 hours working, and we never had a noisy night again.

If they had just brushed the issue off I doubt that we would have ever taken another cruise. J

You're an experienced cruiser so you know that a lot of what one reads on the internet is hyperbole. Miracle is one of the ships in my favorite Carnival classes, a modest 88k tons. I've personally sailed on her twice. That said, I agree with the above poster that she is on the gaudy side. You'll remember jsglow telling you about the 'grapes' once aboard. 😳

Either you'll like the Carnival product at its particular price point or you won't but you'll almost certainly enjoy your cruise either way. Most knowledgeable cruisers say there are way more similarities between RCCL and Carnival than differences, especially in similar ship classes. I will tell you that other Carnival classes have significantly different onboard offerings so don't make the assumption that a Miracle cruise is exactly like a Jubilee cruise.

We all hope you have a great time.

I like the smaller ships, so size is good.

  5. I just booked Carnival Miracle out of Galveston, and in reading the Carnival forum I'm 😶. We have never cruised out of Galveston, and have never cruised with Carnival.

We have just over 400 nights at sea with RCCL, Celebrity, and Cunard, so not new to cruising.

We are about 90 minutes from Galveston, so no flying involved, so it looked like a good idea at the time. Miracle is a smaller ship, the cruise is in January, so I was thinking it would be relativity calm on board, (not talking about the sea, the sea doesn't bother me).

So, Carnival cruisers, especially Miracle cruisers, enlighten me please.

  6. I had unknowingly booked a cabin in the slide area, thanks to CC cruisers letting me know, so canceled it and booked 10704. We have never been on the front of a ship, so this will be a new experience. Any insight on 10704 is welcome. I'm guessing it will be windy, but January in the Caribbean should be fairly warm, and we are going out of Galveston.
