  1. It finally came! I thought for sure there was no way it was going to show up. On board, we were told it was out of stock but fill out the form and they'll mail it. After almost 5 months, it showed up today! Completely forgot about it. Nice little surprise on a Monday before boarding Freedom on Friday! 20230612_105004.thumb.jpg.1a56bca4517414568e03ca1cbbbafddf.jpg

If faq says 1 bottle of wine pp and 12 soft drinks and you bring something not allowed, and hope to get it on somehow .. makes no sense. Drink it at home.

Tell me you didn't read the actual post without actually telling me you read the post... I don't want the alcohol for the cruise, I want it for home...

  3. So, random question. I know in ports, if you buy alcohol, you can bring it back to the ship and they'll take it and put your cabin number on it and deliver last night. What about on boarding day? Thinking to the times we've walked through the boarding, I've never seen a table like on port days?

Only reason I ask is Florida is one of the few States that you can buy Hard Mtn Dew, and I wanted to buy some Prior to the cruise to bring home but I don't think it's going to work since they don't have someone taking alcohol on boarding day. Unless I've just always missed it.

We don't have a ton of time on departure day so that really isn't an option.

Individual restaurant prices have gone up by about $5/person at all the restaurants in my cruise planner. UDP went up $100/person.

I chose to book individual restaurants this time around because I felt forced to only eat at specialty last time in order to make it worth the money, and it was way too much food, and too much of my vacation hours spent having to sit at restaurants. By paying out of pocket for 4 meals, I saved more than half the cost of the UDP.

Agree. The last cruise is the first time we didn't have the udp in a long time and it was SO nice not having to spend 2 hours every evening in a restaurant. And I didn't feel overly stuffed every night from food.

  5. I've noticed on my upcoming Icon sailing and upcoming Wonder sailing in early 2024, the unlimited/ultimate package has gone up about $60 a person. Wonder is coming in around $330 a person before gratuity compared to the $274 it hovered at for months. Icon is a little more than that. What I've noticed though is the individual pricing of the restaurants appears to be about the same. For example, chops at $58.99 per is right about what it's been for years not. By paying for 7 different restaurants individually, you aren't saving more than like $30 by doing the package anymore, plus you get the ability to reserve slots now vs online.

I understand lunches isn't factored in, but let's be honest, lunch and dinner at a speciality in the same day is so much food.

I would have expected the individual prices to go up as well. Anyone else in agreement that the package isn't that great of a deal anymore and just doing individual seems like the best route?

Saw this posted on social media the other day. Lots of upset posters of course.

TBH, I thought a lot of the food there was oddly underpriced and don't really find most of the new prices to be all that out of line.

Oh I agree. Their wings were generally cheaper than most land based places.

  7. Looking over the menu for playmakers on my upcoming sailing on Freedom and noticed the prices are considerably higher than they were three weeks ago on Indy. Your dining credit that you get for the dining package doesn't go early as far. Wings were the most noticeable hike as previously you could get 24 wings plus a side in your $20 but not anymore. Most appetizers appear up a few bucks.Screenshot_20230531_180047_Royal.thumb.jpg.81a052ccfb0056a4c789d71a71a5edbe.jpg

We thought the breakfast and lunch buffet was much better than on the ship, and chairs/umbrellas are provided on the beach.

The beach has people selling their junk constantly though, right? That was a draw to blue lagoon, no people wandering the beach asking you every 2 minutes to braid your hair or buy their stupid bracelet.

  9. I posted this on the Nassau board but didn't get anywhere, so hoping to get some here since Blue Lagoon through Royal is fairly popular...

We've been to blue lagoon before, but only did the regular beach break. We have two options for our upcoming cruise, and I'm trying to determine if it's worth it to pay the extra for the adult only excursion. From what I remember, the adult only area is across that bridge. According to the website, the adult one includes Bahama mama's and soft drinks for the day. The regular beach break is $74 a person. The adult only one was $134 a person, so considerably more expensive. Trying to determine if it's worth it. Is the upgrade to adult only a anything other than the watered down Bahama mammas?
