Here’s what I grabbed from Galaxy Pavilion yesterday.  It sounds like you’ll need to reserve a time slot, which will give you 90 minutes to explore all the virtual attractions.  The cost is maybe $15?

Hi! I have a cabin booked below the Galaxy Pavilion. Do you think it will be loud in there. I wouldn't think so, but want your opinion. TIA😊

Escape and Bliss are in a class of their own....just my opinion. My vote is for the Escape. I am not averse to the BA, so I would pick the better itinerary.

I agree 100% on the horrendous CS of MSC. You have no idea how they have screwed with two of my reservations. Double charged my card, changed room categories, lost my reservations several times...... I can write a book on this! When I complained on the MSC boards, their pimps on cc accused me of being an employee of a rival cruiseline, paid to purposely plant anti MSC posts.

I would cancel my June cruise but would have to forfeit every $$$ since it is past final payment for us (which they charged double and I had a $%^&&* time getting a refund for the second charge!!!) . I would also very gladly cancel my October cruise with MSC and go on the Gem out of Boston, the Dawn out of NYC or on  Royal's Serenade, but I am facing a lot of opposition😡 from family members who want to go on MSC's new *****.....sorry, ship and have gathered other friends to book as well!  I have no words to describe how MSC's CS is driving me crazy! Now I am being also told that the $400 deposit is non refundable but can be transferred to another MSC sailing.

The only positive thing is that the MSC shipboard experience is not as harrowing as the land based CS if you have booked right.

Arzeena!! This is Debbie. Janice and I have sailed with you a couple of times. Hope you are well! Next cruise is Joy on June 20th!!!  Sorry you are having issues with MSC🙁.  Take care!!

I have sailed on the Escape twice and the Bliss once. After some horrendous customer service from MSC, we are considering cancelling our sailing on the Seaside for September and booking on the Breakaway instead. I've been a bit hesitant to sail on the Breakaway or Getaway for fear of an unfavorable comparison to the Escape and Bliss, since they are newer and have some additional features like the District Brew House. I was worried they might feel a bit "old" and "dated".

For those of you who have sailed on the Breakaway as well as the Escape/Bliss. How would you compare them? Are we likely to be disappointed at all?

They will not feel old and outdated. But I have been on the Escape and the Bliss and really like them more than the Breakaway and Getaway. They are a bit more elegant than the Breakaway. The balconies are smaller on the Breakaway also. JMHO, but if they gave me a free cruise on the Breakaway I wouldn't turn it down...lol

I'd be curious in seeing menus of both the main dining rooms and the specialty ones.  Been 4 years since we've been on a cruise and I haven't seen any recent ones.  I'm wondering about the Galaxy Pavilion too, so another vote for the previous post.  Any special quiet places on the ship to hang out?  We've been on the Jewel class ships several times to Alaska and loved the lounge chairs on the promenade deck-- under the heaters -- to hang out on and watch the scenery sail by and wildlife watch, but I'm guessing they won't have those with the waterfront area.  We have a balcony, but sometimes it's nicer to be able  stretch out a bit more.

The observation lounge is on the deck 15. It is huge. It takes up all the area on the ship starting from the forward elevators and all the way to the front of the ship. It is all glassed in with lounges, chairs, bar, starbucks and a small area for breakfast and lunch area.

We got the free at sea which has 250 minutes of internet but I’m not sure that will last the full week between the full family. I asked my TA and NCL but she said it wasn’t possible to upgrade and pay the difference so I accepted it at face value until I came across an old literature stating otherwise.

My question is has anyone had any experience with this of late and we’re they able to upgrade to unlimited WiFi?

Looks like this was take a year ago in the bliss.

Yes they let you do it. I've used the unlimited the last 4 cruises and it works well.

  6. Our health issue happened on the Golden Princess...so what I say only applies to that cruise line. Princess simply charged all the onboard medical (and we are talking over $1000) to our our onboard account. They would not deal directly with the insurer.

I should expand on this and explain that it is very rare for any foreign hospital to accept US Insurance...although GeoBlue is one of the exceptions if you use one of their enrolled providers. In our case all of our bills in Osaka had to paid before we could leave the hospital which is pretty standard procedure around the world. For those that do not have credit cards with higher credit limits...I have no clue how they would deal with big medical bills. I suppose they could call their credit card company and require an immediate increase in their credit limit...but no guarantee that this would be granted.

Thanks for the information. I'll be taking 2 credit cards to be on the safe side!![emoji6]

  7. Hank, I have a question since you have experienced this already. Since you had Geoblue and used the cruise ship's doctor, did they accept Geoblue or did they charge it to your credit card first. I have Geoblue and I'm also a retired teacher on a bit of a budget...lol. Anyway I wouldn't want them to bust up my credit card for a thousand or more during my cruise. TIA and thanks for all the information you provide. You are a wealth of knowledge when it comes to cruising and insurance!![emoji4]

  8. Yes, we can answer that since we recently had to file our own GeoBlue claim. And we also have a Medicare Advantage PPO plan (Aetna). GeoBlue is primary for claims from outside the USA. When I called Geoblue to ask if we had to file with Aetna/Medicare first....they told us to simply file with GeoBlue which is what we did. They paid our claim within two weeks. Our claim included charges from both the Golden Princess and a major hospital in Osaka...all of which were reimbursed.

    Hank

That is good to know!!! Hope you won't need it again.

  9. Hank or anyone else who might know..I have Medicare and a Bluecross supplement insurance. I bought Geoblue Voyagers Choice for my cruise. Who would I file with if I have any medical costs outside the U.S. during a cruise. Would Geoblue be my primary insurance in this case? I turned 65 last year and went on a cruise with just Medicare. I had no clue this was the situation on a cruise.TIA[emoji4]

  11. I walked all around the town with my son. I felt pretty safe, but there are a lot of homeless people wandering around and just loitering, especially in King's Square Park and the Loyalist Burial Ground. There were actually used needles and other garbage in plain view.

Such a shame as the burial grounds are very peaceful and beautiful if you didn't have vagrants lying on benches and sleeping on the monuments.

The city market was a bust for us. Not going to buy vegetables or meat. Cashier/owner at Slocum and Ferris currency converted my cc purchase without my permission.

Various craftspeople set up tables in the port area. Not a whole lot there. There is a mall that is half empty and smells terrible.

Sorry to disappoint but Saint John NB was probably our worst port stop ever. Very lame.

Thanks for info in those areas!
