  1. This is our second cruise with RC. Can someone explain a few things about the benefits? What are examples of offers loaded on SeaPass card? What is the benefit of SeaPass recognition? What is meet the stars? And what is exclusive trivia? Sorry so many questions but inquiring minds want to know

  2.

Re Autism on the seas can you contact them after you've already booked with a cruise line or not? I've goubd their website quite confusing. Do they work in Australia at all or just the U.S.?

I'm not sure about Australia but I know they will work with you even after you have booked your cruise. They did with me the first time. I found out about them after I had already booked. Send them an email if you cant call and see what they can do.

  3. Well i had no idea this would cause such a debate. Just so you understand why I asked. the boys are homeschooled and we live in the country. foot hills of the Appalachia. both boys are always dressed nicely and rarely go out of the house without a button up shirt tucked in, nice dark wash jeans, with a belt, and cowboy boots. They do not nor will they ever wear pants that do not fit properly or their shorts hanging out.

I will buy them the pants that's needed but wanted to avoid the expense if I could. They are growing inches everyday and one already wears 34 length.

  4. We are on the Feb 28 sailing. We are taking the 9am stingray excursion. I want to also rent float mats/tubes for the day. if we go straight to the stingrays will there be floats left to rent afterward? If not, what do I do with them if I get them first? Will there be beach chairs for us when were done at the stingrays? Any other tips for a great day there?

  5. Aside from the Passport and Credit Card, which someone else mentioned above (heck - with those, I can probably buy anything else I forgot in a port… :D ), I'd say the most important item I pack is my small fan and extension cord.

I have a lot of trouble sleeping in silence - any random noise in the area will wake me up, and a cruise ship has a LOT of random noises, ranging from ship movement sounds, to people running up and down the hall. A small fan puts out pink noise which masks out other ambient sounds and makes it very easy for me to sleep.

I just read a post a few days ago about a fan and cord being taken out of checked baggage and returned when cruise was over. We too sleep with a fan. Do you pack yours in carry-on?

  6. Thanks to all of you who have posted - you have helped a lot. Also thanks for the well wishes for my husband. He just turned 50 in mid December so his heart attack on Dec. 3 was a shock to all of us - no signs whatsoever! He is doing better but still has a ways to go. This heart attack has really taken it out of him.

Anyone with any other thoughts or advice please continue posting. I'm soaking all this up and starting to enjoy the fact that I'm going to be cruising in 11 days without any kids! We are foster parents so we have had as many as 6 children in our home in the last 8 or 9 years. Ours range from 19 down to 9 -(the younger 2 came from fostering so basically we started over again, but I wouldn't change a thing).

Keep all that advice coming and thanks again!

We are on the Feb 17 cruise and so excited. We were foster parents for several years and adopted 2. We have 5 all together. We are also leaving the kids at home this time for some much needed adult time.

There's some great information listed here. We did purchase FTTF for our cruise. My husband has 2 ruptured discs and doesn't do well walking or standing for long. So for us its worth the cost. Also we will be driving 11 hrs from Ohio all night ( hoping this weather straightens up)and want our room ready so we can nap before sail away.
