Is my military full dress uniform ok for the dining room?
Thank you for your service. My husband retired after 28 years in the Navy. He always wears his uniform on elegant nights. Have a wonderful cruise.:)

I purchased IDStronghold dot com credit card and passport sleeves for our cards. The cards are a little inconvenient to get in and out of your wallet but they make me feel safe as I watch very carefully where I use my cards. Sorry this happened to you.:)

Take my money now! Hawaiian Shirt with a Moose. Gotta have it.
I just took a closer look at it and the ships have the "whale tail"...LOL

Have fun!:D

The "article" was talking about Hawaiian shirts in Alaska.
My DH's favorite "Hawaiian" shirt was purchased in Alaska. It has all the usual animals, bears, moose, wolves. It also has pictures of planes AND cruise ships!!:D:D:D

I think holds depend on your bank. We used our debit card once and different holds came through reducing our checking balance, then Carnival posted the balance due and that was deducted from checking balance. In essence, double charges. About 5-6 days later the holds came off and our checking balance was finally correct. Don't know if it took Carnival that long to clear our account or if it took that long for the bank to correct. I can see those who do not have enough to cover twice the charges could end up with extra charges through no fault of their own.
We now only use a CC for our cruises.:)
Forgot to mention, during the 5-6 days of waiting, other expenses, bills, etc. were posted. We carry sufficient balance so were not worried. Safe side, use cash or CC.

We take two identical casino cards. That way if I need to get into the safe, don't have to constantly pester DH to open safe for me. Works like a charm.:)

We have taken the White Pass Train twice, the latest last September. Just a reminder you need passports. The agents had us hold our passports next to our face as they walked through. I spent most of my time in the vestibule and got some awesome pictures. Have fun on your tour.:)

What funny stories and I have one too. My DH retired from the Navy (28+ Years) and when on a cruise he likes to wear his uniform for elegant night. Once an older lady said to him "I want to compliment you on how you park the boat, you line up the gang thing nicely with the pier, just wanted you to know it was appreciated"... my DH without missing a beat said "we aim to please maam"!

I am just quoting Carnival. Other cruise lines may allow her to go with her 21 year old friends.

Hope this helps:
According to Carnival Ticket Contract:
(f) Carnival shall refuse boarding to any Guest under the age of twenty-one unless: (1) the Guest is traveling in the same stateroom with an individual twenty-five years or older; (2) traveling in the same stateroom with their spouse; or (3) traveling with a parent or guardian in an accompanying stateroom. Adult guests agree to be responsible at all times for the safety and behavior of their minor guests. Proof of age and/or proof of marriage are required. Carnival shall not be liable to make any refunds or for any damages with respect to any Guest’s failure to provide proper proof of age or marriage or otherwise comply with this provision.
Unless she is traveling with someone 25 or older, she will be denied boarding.:)

Got the email and we leave on the Inspiration Monday!! So I really freaked out thinking I didn't read my paperwork correctly...lol
Funny thing, Mardi Gras isn't until March 4th...so why the mixed up dates?

We are 2 seniors and I'd be insulted if they asked me is I wanted to go to the front of the line because they thought I was old.:D:D:D:D
Cheers

Have a friend who cruised with us and another couple. His first cruise. We went to Mexico on a 7-day. He immediately became seasick, then our first port of call, Acapulco, he was mobbed by the locals... culture shock set in, he returned to the ship and never got off again until we were back home. We tease him but he will never get on another cruise again, his wife enjoyed every minute though.

We always buy insurance through Carnival. We are older and for us other travel insurance sites are extremely expensive. Carnival insurance may not be as good, but it is peace of mind.

And...on the last day :( "Lovely Cruise"...Honey, It's been a he** of a cruise"..J. Buffett:D

We have done both the Glacier Bay and Tracy Arms itinerary. Both are awesome in their own way. Definitely go to the naturalist's talks. They are very informative.
Layers are the way to go with clothing. I wore long sleeved t-shirts, added a long sleeve shirt or down vest and my winter coat over all. If I got warm, I just shed some clothes. As another poster suggested, nice thermal underware is a must. Pick up a set at a sporting store made with thin material, that way you don't feel so bulky. We had balconies and stayed outside until we got cold, went inside to warm up and went out again.
Our May trip was wonderful, but it rained a couple of days. Our Sept trip was very warm and sunny, made me wish I had brought some capris.
Enjoy Alaska, it is a once (or twice) in a lifetime trip.:)

Carnival employees are what keeps us coming back. Some of the friendliest people ever. I've never seen anyone look like they didn't want to be there.
I second this statement. We love the Carnival employees, always friendly, smiling, having fun. Have never witnessed any scowly faces.:)

Just a l'il tip - there is a page on that "social network" on this cruise. There are prices mentioned and one can book with reduced deposits and get $100 OBC per cabin.
I just booked 2 cabins and am very excited.
Found the page and am joining group. Can't locate booking info.

We book most of our cruises under ES, and have matched the military rate a couple times and still kept the ES. We are eligible for military rate, so we can claim the reduction. Never had a problem. :D
Correct, we also qualify for military rate and there have been times where we matched to a military rate and then matched for another rate, such as past guest. Never had a problem, even going back and forth.:)

We like the laundry perk and have never encountered any problems, we don't send anything delicate. One time they "misplaced" our bag and after a couple of days our laundry showed up, and as an apology, every piece was ironed, hung on hangers inside plastic bags...even our underwear!
Definitely will use this perk on our 16 day Hawaiian cruise.

Thank you for the threads, found the info I needed.:)
Why Does Carnival Still Print" Fun Times"
in Carnival Cruise Lines

Isn't this the truth. Plus it takes time, at least for me to figure out where to put your name, password, where to look for info, under which day, time, etc. etc... when...I can just look at my little piece of paper and see what I want.:)
