  1. How many Alaska cruises have you taken?

We are considering taking our second Alaskan cruise within a two-year period. Is this too soon?!? Is there anything you regretted doing or NOT doing during your Alaska trip?

We've done 6 cruises to Alaska. Our next one will include a week on land ( cruise up, spend a week sightseeing then cruise back to Vancouver).

  2. Nobody knows I'm married. My brother is my officiant so I just got a license and had him sign it. We didn't have a ceremony or anything. I guess that's not the point. I assume that if carnival doesn't allow this type of symbolic wedding on embarkation day they won't allow the reception either.

Call Carnival wedding department tomorrow. Where did you read that they no longer do weddings on embarkation day?

  3. Hi,

It has been over a week since I first posted about my experience booking cabins with a NF deposit.

Here is my experience, part 2 (and final):

After my TA talked to 3 different RCCL reps, we finally got answers that made sense. Instead of five of us in a family cabin we now have two couples, each in their own OV balcony; since that left me by myself I talked my two sisters into coming. We were able to add them to a booking with me and we decided to treat ourselves to a Grand Suite (definitely a once in a life time opportunity for me!). Taking Biker19's advise, the TA, RCL rep and I did a three way phone call today and were able to make all the changes I wanted.

Thank you to everyone who responded to my original post. I really appreciated your support and helpful advise.

I can't wait for us to start digging into the next phase of planning; shows, dining, activities, excursions :D:D

I'd also advise the TA that RCI has an excellent TA class for free that she should take. It explains everything in detail.

  4. Does anyone know if Carnival ever offers an extension to the final payment date? I am just curious, it's down to crunch time and money is tight right now.

Did you book it directly with Carnival or with a TA? Most TAs tell clients the due date is several days before the actual due date so there is a buffer in case something happens. Call your TA or Carnival.

  5. From my experience, it is far, far worse than their competitors' sites. We have booked about 10 cruises via 3 different cruise lines' websites without any issue at all. To be honest, I was shocked with how badly the website performed and how poor their customer service has been. They basically accused us of lying about the price we were seeing online, despite the screenshots they requested. I was so looking forward to our first Royal Caribbean cruise, and I hope the onboard experience is much better than our purchasing experience.

I agree. It's worse than their competitors. The TA site is even worse. I spent three hours today trying to confirm two bookings and I was not able to. I never have this problem on Princess, NCL, Disney, etc.

I filed a complaint with the TA Facebook group and my business development manager. This is ridiculous.
