We just stopped in Palma (Nov 4) and did the bike tour through Call and Ride Mallorca. It was fantastic. Mostly level biking (one hill). He took us along the shore, then into old Palma (through the narrow / cobblestone streets) to the Cathedral. We (six of us) agree it was probably one of the best excursions. It was fantastic..stopped at a tapas bar for lunch too!

We are looking for a tour of churches of Rome, stressing some of the more famous art/sculpture and artists.

We also would like to do a tour of St. Peter's alone, not in combination with the Vatican Museum.

Does anyone have suggestions/experience?

If you are talking about the sailing starting 6th of October and ending in BCN 15th October the azamara departure transfer program says earliest guaranteed departure are flights after 11:00

Nothing in life is 100% certain. I have been taking 200+ flights a year for the past 15 years and have never missed a flight. I could try to plan for the worst case scenario every time I travel, but that just makes zero sense to me. I disembarked Seabourn at 7:30 am in Barcelona 5 weeks ago and easily made my 9:30 am flight. I even had time for breakfast at the airport.

I travel often for business, but mostly within the US. If I had to leave time for every worse case scenario I'd spend all my time in airports. I'm trying to talk myself into sticking with the first plan...the 10:50 flight!

I’d really like to get home the day we arrive in Barcelona. I understand all the problems that can occur, but one can’t really plan for some of the things that have been noted. Even if I were to stay an extra day in Barcelona, what time should I leave from the hotel to BCN for a 10:55 flight, 6 am..5am?

I found a 1-stop (MUC) to EWR that leaves at 11:55am, maybe I’ll take that and give myself another hour cushion. I’ll have a beer and pretzel on the stopover!

You have me defiantly worried about making my 10:55 flight out of BCN. I didn't consider the latest situations there. We are spending time in Rome before the cruise and I would have liked to just head home after.

But here is my question, I was in Barcelona twice earlier this year ( before the problems), each time no matter how early I got to the airport the Intl. counters didn’t open until 8 am. Is that still the case? If so, what is the benefit of getting there before then?

We are on a Journey cruise in Oct 2018 ending in Barcelona. Ship itinerary says arrival in Barcelona at 7:00. Is there enough time to make a flight to ATL out of BCN at 10:30? Or should I schedule a later flight? Thank you.

I'm just curious why people book during hurricane season? Is it that much cheaper? I watch this happening every year.....I personally could never handle the disappointment or uncertainty that booking from July thru October brings....I wouldn't go out on a boat during hurricane season if my life depended on it :o I was on Paradise Island In 1979 during Hurricane David and in Florida during Hurricane Andrew. NEVER AGAIN!

On my post #224 of this thread I explained that we would NOT be charging a CX fee of $100..but that the $100 has to be issued manually and would take an extra few days. You replied immediately afterwards (#225) so I had assumed you'd read and understood your $100 will come separately.

 

For all readers, please be assured there is NO Risk of Azamara and bankruptcy! Where & how these rumors get started are a puzzle to me...very trollish in my estimation. We are doing quite fine with occupancy and demand exceeding any prior years. And yes, and we still harbor dreams of growing.

I just changed over to one of the options that I was offered.

I switched to the 9 night cruise at the price of the 7 day cruise. So, other than some re-scheduling issues, for us it worked out well.

I hope it will ultimately work out well for others.

Thanks, that is quite possible. I will get to her and see. Like I said , I will probably go with the offered cruise option as it works our very well for me, but I would like all the information before I choose.

It is vacation after all and I'm staying upbeat and positive about this. My wife and I truly enjoy the Azamara experience and look at this as minor bumps in the road.

Not to throw gas on the fire, but to make my decision, I'd like to see the Land Discoveries options for the offered cruise. I'm fairly sure I'm going to take the offer, but I'd still like to see it.

As of now, the old brochure still comes up on the web site. I emailed Azamara directly on this issue. I'll keep you all posted.

Well there is still a lot of work to be done by Azamara.

I'm trying to decide on my offered options. One issue is shore excursions. The cruises in my offered options have the wrong shore excursion brochure on line. I think we should have all the information needed to make our decisions.

Still, unlike most here, I do have options that turn out better for me.
