  1. Any recommendations for hotels near Miami airport. that dont cost an arm and a leg.  I have looked online and my brain is in overload.  Arriving in Miami January 8/2025 and checkout January 12/2025.  There will be a group of us, will be needing 5 rooms.  Going on a cruise Jan. 12th.

    Thanks.

@ceilidh1Thanks for starting up the thread. See you onboard, very soon!

I will join you for that drink LOL.  Myself and my Daughter will be on this cruise, her first time cruising.  I had to use up my FCC so booked this one, no flying.  Did you happen to get an upsell?  I did and we went for it.  WE went from a balcony to a mini suite, which is good with 2 women in 1 room!!!!!!!

We made used of Room Service on our May cruise on Royal Princess. We ordered from the TV and it was surprisingly easy. Anything with a charge plainly showed the cost. Obviously alcoholic beverages showed a cost but, as we had Princess Plus, we were not charged. Delivery was surprisingly fast. One order wasn't done right - my wife ordered a Latte, Kahlua, and Bailey's. She received 2 Bailey's and a Kahlua. We just laughed and I proceeded to order her Latte and something else for myself. Both times it showed up quickly.

The only other weird quirk we had with Medallion ordering (aside from the poor waiters standing around being embarrassed as they waited for the stupid system to work) was when I ordered a drink on Lido deck. We had a couple of days of nasty weather. I went up on Lido deck and it was cold and windy. I ordered a double Bulleit straight up at the Sea Walk Bar. The bartender gave it to me and I drank it. The weather was pretty nasty so I went back to the cabin. A few minutes later there was a knock at the door and a waiter delivered my drink. The same drink I had already consumed up on Lido deck. D'Oh! I just laughed about it and accepted the drink. With Princess Plus it didn't cost me any extra but it was definitely a weird Medallion glitch. The good news is that they really did track me down and deliver it to where I was.

When you order a double of any alcoholic drink is it considered 2 drinks?

I’m going to England and Athens pre cruise are sea sick patches available there?  Not available in Canada anymore, known as Transderm here. Any other suggestions? Very sensitive so gravol, wrist bands and ginger won’t help. Thanks in advance!

Oh no not available anymore????  I have always gotten them at Costco.  This is the only thing that works for me.  I must check the local Costco next trip there.

I recall a few years back when we took a British Isles cruise there was an umbrella in the cabin for our use.  There was no charge to use it during the cruise, but if you took it home, you paid for it.

Is that something that is still being provided by Princess?

(Honestly, I may have that mixed up with HAL, so, just asking !)

Would really like one less thing to pack.

    Thank you !

Good question.  I am going on an Alaska cruise and sometimes there is a lot of rain.  I wonder if anyone has been on an Alaska cruise and has had one provided, no matter what category of cabin.

Since the restart, is there lobster tail in the MDR at no extra charge? If they do offer it at no extra charge, I assume you can order multiple lobster tails? I am on a 20+ day cruise, so there will be at least one formal night.

I don't eat seafood, but my guests go crazy over lobster. I've been on a Princess cruise since the restart, but I didn't pay attention to things like lobster on the MDR.

    Thanks.

We had lobster on our 2020 Asia cruise and it was served in a pile of mucky risotto, tasted so bad couldnt; eat it.  Some of our friends got a lobster the size of a large prawn, so small they took a picture of it.  I saw a lot of plates being sent back.  Hoping on my Alaska cruise in Sept. it will be better.

For some reason, Royal Princess has been stopping in Victoria for most of her southbound trips this season.  She was here on May 27, June 10,  and June 24. However, based on the port schedule for Victoria, it looks like tomorrow (July 22) is the Royal's last call in Victoria until the repositioning cruise later in September.

I am on the Royal to Alaska Sept. 17th and on Sept. 23rd I am scheduled to stop in Victoria then to Vancouver., so maybe this cruise will be the last stop in Victoria.  I live in Victoria and wish I could disembark there, answer so far is NO.

While there will an abundance of jewelry stores in all three ports mentioned I would suggest the Sealaska Heritage Center in Juneau.  Sealaska is one of our Native Corporations and the store associated with the Heritage Center features some wonderful Alaska made products.  I bought two pairs of earrings last summer made by Tlingit silversmiths.

Where is it situated in town?

You can also do most (but not all) online using the web-based version.

If you don't know how to find it: after you log in online, click on your cruise (Manage this booking). Scroll down just a little. Under the logos for "App Store" & "Google Play" you'll see "try our web version". It's easy to miss...almost like they don't want you to notice it.🤫

When you click on "web version", you'll need to log in...again. No one said they brilliant programmers.

    Good Luck!!

I have tried doing the web version, the circle keeps spinning and spinning and beside it it says loading, nothing happens even after an hour, have tried many times still the same.

I'll assume they already have Princess accounts. They can access all they need using the web version, lots of others have this issue. I pasted a pic of the screen, under Summary for their booking. Bottom right is a link "Try our web version". Click on that and proceed.

I also wont be using no APP, also elderly.  I have tried many times to do the web version, the circle keeps spinning and beside it it says loading, never does come up even after leaving it spinning for an hour.

Was on the inaugural, if you have any issues at all see Luci in Guest Services, and only her, and she will turn it around for you.

Could you please give me the phone number of guest services, thanks.

We added it to our upcoming cruise with no issues.  Paid in Canadian dollars. If you go to Manage My Cruise, it’s in that section.

How was the price compared to other travel medical companies.  I normally go through a medical company for travel medical and cancellation insurance, never  thought of going through the cruise line.

We found out, just because a wine is on the list doesn't mean it is available.

This is true.  Did they have small tables set up on the 1st and 2nd day of the cruise, usually somewhere near the pool/buffet area on the ship.  They have a special of 7 bottles, 10 bottles and 12 bottles of wine.  I cant seem to get an answer from Princess themselves.  You can talk to 3 different people and get 3 different answers.

Yes both Marina Bay and Harbor Front Cruise Terminals have duty free alcohol available. As does the Singapore Airport with a very large selection. I know the price of Smirnoff Blue Label 100 proof Vodka 1 liter size and the cost is about SGD $25.00 dollars. (July 2018) But if you do purchase anything (not wine) must cruise lines will hold & return at the end of your cruise.

That is so weird, I did read online that the Marina Bay Cruise Centre DOES NOT have a duty free only the International Passenger Terminal has one.  Have things changed and they now have one at the Marina Bay termianl?

    Thanks.

I did hire Dewa for our stay January 2019 - used him for airport transfer as well as 5 day tours - excellent experience.

What a lovely story, great pictures.  Now I can see what he looks like. We (8 of us) have hired Dewa Feb. 20/2020.,  I will mention reading your letter on CC.
