  1. Fabulous trip! We had seen posts about large theme group (Drag Queens) being onboard...people worried about crowded venues, parties. This was not the situation at all. Quite the opposite. Because the group of 400+ had their own parties and events, all of the regular venues (like Quest, shows) were much LESS crowded. As for drinking/parties, I never saw anyone drunk or rowdy, one of the nicest cruises we have been on.

Puerto Rico-fabulous port. City is so beautiful, we toured the forts and city on our own with cab drop off. Cab from airport to hotel to town....ran about $20 every time we got in.

Hotels: We stayed in Hyatt House near port night before. Clean, nice, only place within walking distance to eat was Sizzler and Marriott. Great location for getting on ship, not so great for touring. We stayed an extra night on return, Hilton Condado Plaza. Beautiful place, great views, small beach. Still a $20 cab ride to town, but clean room, we had balcony view. Our room had tiny bathroom, much like the ship? Not sure if all have those.

Adventure of Seas was great. Yes, a little wear and tear (hole in blanket, chipped paint in bath) but none of that will interfere with a great cruise.

Excursions: Cruzan Rum and West End in St. Crois. Fun, interesting. There are some steep stairs to climb at the Rum Factory.

West Coast and Nutmeg Plantation in Grenada. Interesting, lovely ride through beautiful mountains.

Entertainment: Ice Show was amazing and different. Main shows were really good, except we had seen the same singers and comedians on cruise last year on different ship.

Food: Very good, only complaint-would like to have had shrimp more often in MDR. I love my shrimp!!!

We did have a Junior Suite this time, upgrade for us for our 40th Anniversary, there is an amazing amount of space!!! Huge closet!

We left the ship with no problems, our flight was early next day so we did not have any issues at the airport. I do see how that could get a bit crowded, looks like always 2 ships coming/going on same schedule, could all get to airport at same time?

If you have Adventure plans, enjoy!!!

  2. We get currency from each place we visit. We just got back from this same cruise. The paper money in Cayman Islands is beautiful! And we bring it back to our elementary age grandkids. They have quite a collection. Christmas ornaments are fun, we just ended up with too many. We also try to take a photo of both of us at some site specific to the area, or with a unique person (you will see these on every port!).

Just ask for local money exchange when you buy something in the market area (bottled water

  3. Just returned from cruise on Navigator. Great time, wonderful staff. My only concern was the huge overcrowding on the venue for the Quest (Ice Show venue theatre). Capacity crowd very early, then tons of people standing, then they allowed crowds to move into aisles and sit on steps in every aisle. Had there been a fire or other emergency, this could be a real problem with one exit???

I also had the announcement for the ice show 'if you don't have ticket, come ahead, you can stand on back' (leading me to believe it is often over full). Is there maybe no fire codes on International water like there is on the states?

Love RC but not sure I will stay in any performance that crowded again. And the Ice Show was fabulous and the Quest great fun!!
