  1. I have a Pride aft cabin booked for July and have read multiple reviews of people complaining of a severe vibration that annoyed them greatly and extra sway feeling. I have been worried ever since that I made a mistake booking it.

We had one 3 years ago on our honeymoon on the PRIDE and loved it.. they are always my preferred spot. I love just zipping up the steps to the Serenity Deck as well. We felt no vibration and heard no excess noises. The only thing my husband did not enjoy about the aft was the sun hits more on the balcony because the cover is more limited, being at a pitch instead of all the way to the rail. I loved it, as I liked the sun on my private "deck". He always got too hot during the day, but most of the time we were on the Serenity in a chair or hammock, so it was really not a big deal.

I think you will love it. I LOVE the back of the boat!

have fun on your trip in July. The PRIDE holds a special place in my heart!

  2. Had a balcony last 2 cruises and loved it.. only con we found on our last cruise, our neighbour left their balcony light on - for the first 3 nights..

I had read hear before my cruise how some members found that annoying but always thought, that would not bother me, but after actually experiencing it, it did.. :(

YES, the balcony light being left on kills me. Plus the smoking. On our last trip we had a hillbilly family of about 500 members next to us and across the hall. The older kids lived on the balcony next to us and complained all day long about being bored. Trashed up the place and made it the daycare for the babies of the group so they screamed all day long. Very annoying. We basically were driven off our GS balcony. I wouldn't let my husband confront them bc of all the teens in the group. I did not want revenge exacted on us. So we stayed on the Serenity Deck. My next trip we are on same ship in a OV.

  3. So I almost feel that you are comparing apples to oranges here. I have been on both ships, and I am actually going back on the Fantasy for my 3rd anniversary in May. Went on the PRIDE on my honeymoon, Fantasy for my 1st anniversary. While the Pride has more, and is bigger, newer and seems very much bigger than the Fantasy (cause, well, it IS!), it can be reflected in the lines for food, and at the pool (Serenity deck for us). Yes, the Fantasy is the smallest and oldest ship. I love it as well. Been 3 years since I was on the Pride. But for me, other than I live 4 hours from Charleston, the deciding factor is the city itself. If you have never been to Charleston, you should choose the Fantasy and spend some pre-cruise or post cruise time in this beautiful place. It seems like a personal choice and everyone is different but I do want to toss in the lure of beautiful and charming Charleston itself as a factor to consider. Good luck on your choice and enjoy whatever ship you chose!!

  4. Oh what a wonderful review! I feel like I am with you every step, every meal, and excursion and/or adventure. We are leaving on the Fantasy the 30th. I am excited to be back on a smaller ship. Even the Pride seemed huge to me! My husband doesn't walk well great distances so I think the Fantasy will be perfect for him. I love how you are so well rounded for the activities and just give great insights on some things (piano bar) that I might skip. I am definitely checking out that piano bar now and the tea! Thanks so much for sharing your vacation with us(and taking me along, lol)

  5. 1980, Emerald Seas. Had no idea what a history that ship had, as I was only 14. She is gone for good now, but what fun we had. A school trip and first cruise and Disney and Wet and Wild all in one trip... Amazing history and no idea that ship was from 1944! It basically went all over the world. WOW,,, now, many decades later, I would certainly appreciate that history.

What a neat thread this is.

  6. Awwww, , my honeymoon ship last June!! BEAUTIFUL pictures! is that a camera, iPhone, or another type cell phone? My husband's Electrify phone takes MUCH better pics that my iPhone. LOVE the review so far! No tiny handcuffs? really??:confused:God, you just NEVER know! LOL

BTW, I bet our butt prints are somewhere on the Serenity Deck in a hammock, cause we LIVED there for a week! LOL..:D
