  1. Can I just fire something at you American folk.

I am sailing on the Splendour on the 10th June and its the 10/6!!!!

Not the 6/10. That is the 6th October.

Now I am away to get a tin hat on for all the abuse about to come my way!

Still cant wait to sail on her and meet my fellow shipmates on the 10/6 sailing,

    :) :)

  2. we're not far from you, we live just outside Glasgow and are going on the Splendor too but in December. Please post and let me know what it's like...thanks

I will do a blog style review.

I done one a year ago next week on a Celebrity cruise.

  3. Have any of you stayed in the Upper deck (6) aft wraps? There is an awesome video on YouTube of 6485, but what I'm wondering is ... is there any shade at all, or is it all sun all the time on sunny days?

We have this room booked for the June 10th cruise and we hope to spend a lot of time in those lounge chairs, but I was hoping that there is a little shade as the sun moves around (yes, I know it's the earth that moves :D). June is early and we will have no base tan to help keep us from burning. I do plan to bring a ton of high number sun screen and a large hat! Speaking of the hat - how windy is it on the aft section?

I've heard there is noise from the lounge below, but I bring ear plugs so that's not an issue for me.

Oh and do you know if they assign dining rooms by cabin location. Much as I'd love to eat in the Black Pearl for Pirates of the Caribbean reasons :) - the Golden Pearl would work out better for us.

Kat, Remember your new Scottish friends for a wee party in your suite some night maybe for a sailaway from somewhere. We like a wee party now and again.

Nothing like inviting yourself? Not be long now. Just under 3 months to go.

We are booked in stateroom 6266.

  4. Cracking review folks. Its an awful feeling when it ends.

We spent our last full day in America at Gulfstream Racecourse as that where our friends were going and we had nothing planned. Didnt win anything but had a lovely meal at the Irish Bar on the upper level.

Would love to cruise with you guys sometime.

At the moment we have to wait till 10th June when we board the Splendour in NYC.

  5. Thank you my friend. The other gentleman in the Kilt and I had a great talk about our Burns Nichts we were missing while on the cruise. I had a few people take pictures with us. One of the great parts as well was when one of the Food & Beverage Managers who was from Scotland walking past Alchemy while we were there stopped came over and had a whole conversation about clans and tartans. I am certainly glad I packed the Kilt!

I enjoy wearing the kilt but it requires a special occasion.

I usually go for a national tartan like spirit of Scotland or Spirit of Bannockburn.

Both very nice blue/purple tartan. There is also the flower of Scotland which has the St Andrews cross throughout the pleats. Looks brilliant.

  6. Cracking review, I am really looking forward to more.

    The kilt is wonderful.

I took the kilt with me when we done our silver wedding cruise last March and I was 'the talk of the steamie' An old Scottish saying for when people are commenting on something. The something is the talk of the steamie ala the kilt.

Had plenty of glam women wanting to have their picture taken with me. Made the wife quite jealous yet proud at the same time.

The big fella carries the kilt well and does it proud!!!!!
