Hi @Jeter02
Well I have finally met the highly visible Leon and I can concur that he is indeed outgoing and happy for a chat. What a lovely gentleman.

Heather-
In October Princess is stopping at Korsakov, Sakhalin, Russia rather than either of the 2 ports mentioned in this thread. Do you know whether you can walk off the ship in Korsakov without a visa?
Carol
Thanks Carol. I was just about to post this very same question to Heather myself. We are also on the Diamond visiting Korsakov this October and have tentatively booked a ship's tour but would really like to just walk off and wander on our own. We definitely did this in Vladivostok last year.
Carol, hope to meet you on board.
Heather we hope you can help us with this enquiry.

Great. Thank you. Now I know. That's a lot of effort. I'm a keen participant in roll calls to share and swap info, but once onboard I'm basically antisocial, hence that explains why I didn't know!

You are welcome! We tend to do much longer cruises so it's great to organise a few extra things for others, so you can meet some likeminded people. Some of our best friends are past cruising buddies who we have met along the way, because of the longer trips, and of course we have kept in touch, even organising more cruises together.

To satisfy your curiosity:
Yes a person is a Deck Angel and they are truely wonderful! When someone, like myself, offers to organise a Meet and Greet we often get many people who want to come along. Because we also have regular get together for lunch or other activities on board it is necessary to get messages out to everyone. In 2015 I had 180 people on the world cruise roll call so I needed help. This is where our Deck Angels step in. They are the fab people also on the roll call who offer to deliver messages to other cabins! These might be reminders of perhaps an RSVP if we need definite numbers for a cruise critic lunch. I have 178 so far on the roll call for South American cruise that is about to Brisbane. It's a lot of preparation but I have 14 Deck Angels to help out.

Hey there
Thanks everyone for your responses. Yes, I only need the transfer back to the airport after we disembark but at least I have two options, the phone call ahead of time or book it while I'm on board.
Cheers

Just rang Princess and reserved a transfer. The current price is $29 AUD per person per trip and is available Airport to Pier and vice versa.
Hi there
We will also need to purchase a transfer from Freo back to the airport. Did you ring the 1300 number on your cruise personaliser to book?
Cheers

Passport application in! Done and dusted!

Thanks everyone. Really appreciate your input. Aussie passports cannot have pages added unfortunately. It is just a little frustrating when there is significant time left on the passport but not enough pages. That means we are lucky enough to be able to travel, so no complaints here. It is obviously not worth the risk so I will apply for a new passport tomorrow.
Cheers from 'Down Under'

Prior to Maputo we are in Singapore, Phuket, and then Chennai, India where we need a visa, then after Maputu, it is into South Africa. We will also go via Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles and Reunion Is. Maybe I need to get a new passport with only 3 to 4 pages left.

Thanks Keith. We have had conflicting answers even from here in Australia, so I was hoping to find someone out there who has travelled on an Aussie passport recently that could tell us their experience. Time will tell.

I will be coming into Maputo, Mozambique for ONE day only via cruise ship. As we do not have an embassy in Australia that issue visas for this destination, the cruise line organises this for us, on arrival. No-one has been able to tell me what my passport requires for a ship arrival. I have more than the six month validity but will only have two (not consecutive) blank pages left in my passport, by the time I arrive in Mozambique. Has anyone out there arrived by ship, where the ship has organised their visa, and can tell me what exactly went into their passport eg. official stamps, large visa requiring whole page etc? Thanks.

We first met Fabrizio in 2013. We cruised into Civitevecchia and Livorno. Fabrizio was waiting for us at each port and transported us to some of the best spots you will see in Italy. We had particularly requested to 'go country' rather than stay in the big cities amongst the summer crowds. Fabrizio looked after us so well, that we went with his great company again this year. Once again he collected us from both ports and we saw different areas. Fabrizio is very engaging and nothing is too much trouble. His company responds quickly to requests and queries and you always know that you are going to have a great day out. Our time in port is carefully managed and we know that Fabrizio and his very personable drivers will get us back in plenty of time before sailaway. I recommend Fabrizio's company:
very highly. You will not be disappointed :)
