  1. As I understand, if I am able to book a cabin that is meant for a higher number of occupants (i.e. 3 passengers in a 4/5 passenger cabin), there is a possibility that I may be moved if a cabin for 4 or 5 is needed.

However, can Carnival move me to a lower level category?

If I book the highest level oceanview cabin, and there are no other cabins available in the same category, if I am moved, would I have to be moved to at least the lowest level balcony?

  2. We have been doing this forever but why don't you download the money to your card from a slot and spin once and cash out and go to the cage and cash out. It'll save you the 3%.

We get citi deals $500 cards for $450 and bring like maybe 10 per cruise, it saves me $500 per cruise. It takes the sting out of losing and any leftover cash we just cash out and take home with us

What's the daily limit for loading funds at the machines?

Was 1 spin for each download sufficient?

Were you ever questioned at the cage?

When is the last time you did this?

I was also looking to bring several thousand in gift cards just like you.

    Thanks in advance!

  3. Yes but only if you go to the tables or cage asking for the fund transfer from your S&S card.

Can you verify that we're able to get it from the cage?

I was thinking of getting a bunch of gift cards at 10% off, then going to the tables and getting chips for the 3% fee, and then keep the 7% profit.

If I did that at a table, they might let me only do it once if I don't end up doing any gambling. But if I get it at the cage, I suppose I can just hold on to the chips for a while and then cash them in later and they wouldn't know I didn't play?

  4. I was wondering something similar. I've been whittling away at our cruise balance with gift cards, and right now I have it down to $272 to go. If I buy $300 in gift cards, where will the extra 28 bucks end up? Does it just use available balances on the cards, and I will end up with $28 remaining on one?

Yes the remaining balance will stay on the last gift card you apply.

  5. I think that's pretty rotten. If you were going to charge them for your assistance, then just be upfront and tell them. I'm also working with a group. 5 cabins. I started off going on the trip but then had to change dates. I told my girlfriend I would still do the work. I've gotten some to buy cards but not everyone is open to the idea. People would rather pay full price. Ridiculous but their loss. Anyway, I would never pocket the 10% savings. And they know better anyway from me telling them about the gift cards.

You're a better person than I am. I applaud you!

  6. People scoff at 10% off but i look at it this way. I paid 90% to get 100% of the experience and if you are a frequent cruiser its like paying for 9 cruises and getting the 10th for FREE !

I'm organizing a group cruise and am handling cash payments for 6 cabins. I've collected $7500 worth of gift cards over the past month. I plan on keeping the 10% as a "convenience fee" :)

  7. Shouldn't be a problem getting the refund, may take a few weeks. Why not just hang onto your money and make it when it's due to avoid any issues??

I've been getting electronic gift cards from Allstate and I want to get funds into my bookings Asap. I don't want to risk someone getting a hold of the number and pin.

  8. So I'm still unsure of the answer.

Let's say a cruise costs $1500 under ES with the standard deposit of $500 for 2 people.

If the cruise is cancelled before the final payment date, will the $1000 be refunded, and then future cruise credits of $200 ($250 deposit - $50 fee) be issued to each person?

  9. I've actually had Drivewise for my car for a couple months but just recently signed on to the rewards site. Luckily, I've been earning points since the beginning and I already had 30k+ points to start.

I've noticed that availability on Allstate is much better than the rest, especially when it comes to the eGift cards. I was able to pick up 4 x $500 cards over the past 2 days no problem. On the other sites, those cards are usually gone within hours.

  10. Do you happen to have a credit card that offers trip cancellation or interruption coverage?

I have the Sapphire Reserve, and it offers me free coverage in case of, but not limited to, the following:

Accidental Bodily Injury, Loss of Life, or Sickness experienced by you, a Traveling Companion, or an Immediate Family Member of you

    or a Traveling Companion

  11. For me, the casino rate is available to book and I usually get something in the mail about the rate and also a coupon/voucher for some casino cash. I've gotten $100 in the past, for my most recent one I got $50.

Yes, you do have to pay the full $250pp deposit, but you're going to have pay that amount eventually anyway. Besides the benefit of the reduced rate, my casino rates have always been fully refundable unlike the easy saver fares.

  12. Just picked up $500 x 2 from Citi Easy Deals.

I wasn't able to use my Chase SR to buy the cards. I have both a Citi Simplicity and Double Cash card. I think the Simplicity is the one that qualifies me for Citi Easy Deals, but I was able to use my Double Cash card to buy.
