  1. Hi - We are docking at Outer Mole on Celebrity in October. We have shipboard credit to use and were thinking about booking the Trolley Tour with Celebrity. Does anyone know if by booking our shore excursion directly with Celebrity, if we can avoid making an extra stop anywhere to pick up or redeem tickets? We are hoping that by booking with Celebrity, we will get our tickets on the ship, then take the required shuttle to the Mallory Square area, and from there walk to the Southernmost Point and only use the shuttle at the closet Southernmost stop to get back to Duval.  Thanks so much!

  2. We would definitely lean towards booking Aqua on M-class, especially since they have gotten rid of Ocean Liners/Murano on those ships. We don't care for the other specialty dining venues available on M-class now. However, if the cost difference between Concierge and Aqua were too great, we'd be fine with Concierge and the MDR. We do like the larger cabins that Concierge and Aqua have on M-class over regular verandahs, especially on longer itineraries.

    Thanks.

That's a good point because we really spend a lot of time out on the verandah. We love just sitting out at sea.

  3. Since you are asking for an AQ comparison on M-class vs. S-class, consider the following:

    - Blu is essentially the same on both classes; the restaurant is a little smaller on M since the number of AQ cabins is smaller

    - Persian Garden is much nicer on S-class with the individual lounges and floor to ceiling windows vs. the common bench seat and no windows on M-class

    - AQ cabins on M-class are a little larger than standard balconies while on S-class they are the same size as standard balconies

    Thank you. Great info!

  4. The last time we were in Cozumel we were on NCL and docked at the Punta Langosta pier.

We bought Kahlua at the duty free liquor store on the right just as you reach the end of the pier.

I can't remember for sure if it was in the Tiki bottles but at that time a one liter bottle was $11.89/each.

I wrote down the price in my journal so I could compare prices when I got back home. I think Kahlua was about half the price it was here in Texas.

    Thank you. [emoji4]

  5. Hi, I posted this on the Cozumel board but thought I would post here as well. We will be sailing on the Reflection in December. I am looking for a Christmas gift for someone -- any sort of specialty bottles of Kahlua - like the tiki ones or something similar. Has anyone seen them recently on or off the ship? I'm not sure if they even sell them anymore.

    Thank you so much!

  6. Hi -- We will be on a 4 night pre-Christmas cruise on the Reflection, and are not planning to go to the main dining room at all. We are going to purchase the speciality restaurant dining package with our OBC. We are so looking forward to this cruise and while we are waiting, are hoping to enjoy some reading material. :D Please post your favorite speciality restaurant(s) and your favorite menu items. Thanks!

  7. I have always been offered choices of multi-night specialty dining packages when I board the ship. My cruise planner only has the 7-night package, and I trust we will be offered a 5-night package during the Concierge Embarkation lunch. No worries....

Hi - We are going to be booking CC and will have OBC. I was thinking about purchasing the package now. Is there any advantage to waiting until the Concierge Embarkation Lunch to purchase the speciality dining package? Thanks!

  8. Hi,

I am looking for input and suggestions on which cabin/balcony is better on the Reflection - 1116 or 1120. Are the beds are near the balcony or the bathroom? We spend a lot of time on our balcony and were wondering how much larger these balconies are, if they have any obstructions below, and if they have a forward view. Does anyone have or know of any photos posted anywhere?

Your input is very much appreciated. Thanks so much

  9. Hi there,

It's been awhile since we have cruised. We've enjoyed weddings and grandchildren and we downsized, sold our home and moved. We are ready to get back into the game!

We are starting with a short four night getaway before Christmas on the Reflection, and were looking for some guidance on which category and cabins are suggested. We like forward cabins and spend a lot of time relaxing on our balcony. We don't need a huge balcony, but we like the comfort of footstools. We've sailed on the Solstice in the past in a regular verandah and have sailed CC as well but it has been awhile. We were thinking of trying AQ this time, mainly because of Blu, but "The World is Open Sale" is going on for the next few days, so we are trying to decide if we should just book CC or a standard verandah stateroom, and use the onboard credit for specialty restaurant dining for all four nights. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks so much!

  10. It is one of those places that has a million knick knacks in the ceiling then never dusts them.

Yikes. We are looking for outdoor and pet friendly spots because we are bringing our dog with us again this time and we like to walk him around the New River. We've been to a few places on Las Olas and in other areas with him but not so much for happy hour. :D

  11. Hello,

My husband and I are close to retiring and would like to be snowbirds beginning next year, and we also love cruising! We've taken a little break with two daughters getting married within 6 months of each other and now are ready to get back to it! :) One of ours daughters and her husband currently live in Fort Lauderdale and we are starting to become more familiar with Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding communities. We want to be closer to her and the added benefit for us is that we would be closer to the cruiseports and the airport. We would like to start out by renting a two bedroom place and are looking for suggestions from local residents on nearby towns, and areas/apartment/condo complexes within those towns. Folks on these forums are always so informative and helpful and we could use some advice.

Last January we did a little exploring around and drove as far north as Hutchinson Island which is too far north for us. We are visiting again in March and would like to spend some driving around and concentrating more within the Fort Lauderdale area up to 20-30 mins or so away. We love the Riverwalk area but feel the condos might be a little too pricey for us initially unless we rented only a one bedroom. If we love the area after year one of renting and all goes well, we are considering selling our home up north and relocating to Florida or reversing it and renting for the summer and early fall months in the north and buying a home and becoming Florida residents. We are playing this by ear but first are hoping for some advice and suggestions on which areas to look at in March! We loved the dog beach in Jupiter and plan to visit again in March!

We are familiar with Wilton Manors and Victoria Park and the Las Olas area. Are there any specific areas or nearby towns we should take a look at while we are there and what might be a range of rental prices? We are not stuck into living in Fort Lauderdale and are open to all suggestions but not yet ready to contact a realtor. We have a 10 pound dog, and are looking for a safe, pet friendly, walkable community where we can walk to a Starbucks or local coffee shop, farmer's market, and maybe a few restaurants (which is why we like the Riverwalk area). smile.gif

We would be most appreciative for any information and suggestions you can provide.

    Have a great day!

    Nancy
