  1. :D or:mad:

    Oh dear

we just booked a 12 day to the Baltic and were really looking forward to it until we read this!!!

What does the 'urn' ship mean please?

Or "is one mans pinotage another mans balsamic" Michael 2013

The theme is "Legends" and a prominent motif is Grecian vases.

  2. We were on the Legend early May of this year. Visited Serenity a few times, but only briefly. The only attraction for us was the hammocks which were always in use. I noticed no cleanliness or repair issues. I found the entire ship clean and well maintained. Late in the cruise someone vandalized the ship by scratching graffiti into the mirrored surfaces in some elevators and that will likely not buff out.

  3. If your ship is out of Florida, Roatan is two hours behind. At 0700 ship's time your host is at 0500 and you need to head back by 1200 local.

  4. To tender, pax gather in the theater after receiving a number on arrival which, I think, corresponds to your excursion status. The tender boats are many and they're large - 200+ but the round trip is long. It seems like a long wait especially if there are passengers who have to empty their bags of fruit - no produce may be taken on shore. It could be nearly an hour from your arrival at the theater until you step on the dock.

  5. There are areas in the casino where you can smoke. I'm neither a player nor a smoker so I don't know if you have to gamble to smoke. There must be good ventilation because sensitive non-smokers walked through frequently without concern. Also Satchmo's bar.

  6. Other posters are much more informed. This was my first experience. I uploaded our pix to shutterfly (free, they hope I'll buy product) and copied and pasted using the mountain icon in the rrply tool bar. SIzing was automatic. I made no sizing effforts.

  7. Life is full of regrets. For those who expect to see the island AND snorkel Westbay, manage your time carefully. We were there on 5-10 on Carnival Legend; got a late start (daughter); had our Bodden guide take us to the Garifuna who are on the east end. By the time we saw the sights and got to Westbay it was after 1230 (ship's time) and we had to leave by 2:00 for 3:00 sailaway. Enjoyed a meal and Monkey LaLas:) at Fosters, but, didn't get to snorkel the kidney. Saw enough to want to go back for a land vacation.

  8. Great to get info from those who have been there. My bride of 40+ years and I will be as elegant as we can be on those nights. Where are the best locations on the ship for portrait type photos? Is the ship photographer set up in just one place?

  9. Marbella Beach is perhaps what West Bay was before humans showed up. It is truly a beautiful spot but not so much as a port a potty much less a building.

There has been talk for years about John Edwards, the Parrot Tree guy, building a resort and marina on Marbellla beach. I have not been down to that part of the island in a few years so I am not sure what the what is at the moment.

This is Marbella beach on a good day.. speaking of critters I found on the beach. Imagine my surprise! :)

Guest 2000, I haven't been there yet, but, your description and pics, make me envious. How did you get 7 weeks in this seeming paradise? Also, who owns the beaches on Roatan? Is Marbella Beach for sale?
