  1. Allegiant Air to start flights from New Orleans to Orlando, Indianapolis, other cities

Las Vegas-based airliner Allegiant will move into New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport next year, starting seasonal direct flights to Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Columbus, Ohio and year-round flights to Orlando, the company announced Tuesday.

For those who are thinking about going on a cruise out of New Orleans, it appears that Allegiant will start having new flights to and from New Orleans.

  2. Thanks for all the replies

When I went to Cancun one year, I got really sick due to the heat and food poisoning. My doctor told me to travel smart (not travelling when it is hot as hell), eat and drink right and when possible, bring vitamins to help keep sure I am getting enough.

  3. I am just wondering why you believe they would not let you take vitamins with you on board.....??? It is not like they are illegal drugs..... ;)

I just wanted to double check to keep sure NCL didn't have some stupid rule about me bringing vitamins on the ship.

  4. I am flying into Miami, FL from New Orleans and sailing on the Norwegian Getaway. Will NCL allow me to bring a unopened bottle of One A Day VitaCraves Gummies onto the ship?

If you do not know what One A Day VitaCraves Gummies are, it falls into the same group of Flintstone vitamins.

  5. I would love for one of the ships to be base out of New Orleans and during hurricane season, out of Seattle for the Alaska cruises. If not Norwegian Escape or Norwegian Bliss, I would love for one of NCL's "older" ships that have the Studio Cabins to be base out of New Orleans.

I know a lot of single people of all ages in New Orleans area that would go on a cruise out of New Orleans if they did not have to pay double occupancy rates. And if one of the cruise ships that have the Studio Cabins will do the Alaska cruises during the summer time, I would do that cruise in a heart beat.

  6. I have heard stories that some hotels have free parking while you are on a cruise.

One of my friends from Where's George (I met her at two different gatherings) was telling me that the reason that her and her husband stay at the Holiday Inn in Metairie, LA when they go their cruises out of New Orleans is that they can leave their car at the Holiday Inn for free while they are on their cruise. I do not know how they get too and from the port.

I might misunderstood so if this is something you may want to do, please double check the information.

  7. New Orleans' Louis Armstrong Airport (MSY) gains nonstop flight to Seattle

I hope this is the correct forum to post this in. I am guessing that cruise air means the forum is for flights (aka planes)?

Beginning this summer, Louis Armstrong International Airport* will add a nonstop flight to Seattle, airport officials announced Tuesday (Feb. 11).

This is good news for people that lives in Southeast Louisiana that wants to go on an Alaskan cruise and for people in Seattle who wants to go on a cruise out of New Orleans.

*Louis Armstrong International Airport (located in Kenner, LA) is the major airport for New Orleans, LA.

  8. Mardi Gras Parade Schedule 2014

Mardi Gras Season starts on January 6 and this year, Mardi Gras Day (aka Fat Tuesday) is on March 4, 2014.

If you are going on a cruise out of New Orleans, be aware that you may need to get from your hotel to the cruise ship and plan your schedule and route around the Mardi Gras parades.

Also in March, there will be St. Patrick's Day Parades and St. Joseph's Day Parades.

  9. Things I Didn’t Know Until I Left New Orleans

I thought some of you would also like this article.

With Number 1 (Bars Close), some bars do close and others are open 24/7 in Southeast Louisiana.

Actually, I been in one bar in Avondale, LA that had three happy hours a day (happy hour is something like 9AM to 10AM, 5PM to 6PM and 1AM to 2AM). The reason I found out is that one of the major businesses in the community is open 24/7 so the bar decided to have happy hour after every shift. So no matter if you are working the first shift, the second shift or the third shift, you could always stop a happy hour drink.

  10. One thing I do to help save money for my cruise is if the Serial Number on a one dollar bill starts with the letter "B", I put it aside for my cruise.

Of course this idea will not work out unless you handle a lot of one dollar bills (bartenders, waiters/waitresses, est.). I am into Where's George so that is why I handle a lot of one dollar bills.

You can think this idea over and adapted it to your money habits.
