  1. Does anyone know if these "new" TVs are on the Emerald and do they have a jack to plug in head phones?

Yes they are on the Emerald however I don't know the headphone answer. Here is a photo I found of one on another thread

  2. On my previous Trans Atlantic cruise John Maxtone Graham was on board and his lectures were Standing Room Only in the Princess Theatre.

I'm sailing on the Emerald April 18th on another TA Is there a place where it would be posted who or if any lecturer will be on board?

I really enjoyed these morning talks.

  3. Has anyone tried to connect a DVD player to the new TV's yet?

It looks like with the new TV's that it would be easy if they haven't been tampered with.

(Yes I realize I'm on vacation but I fall asleep to TV, right before I doze off I change to the bridge cam)

  4. Here is a link to a few different packages and an update on ships currently offering the beverage package

Princess Cruises Trials All-Inclusive Beverage Packagedrinkvariety-ns.jpg-- Princess Cruises has become the latest cruise line to jump on the all-inclusive beverage package bandwagon, trialing a new program onboard Star Princess and Sapphire Princess.

The package, which previously was only available to groups of 30 passengers or more, costs $49 per day, plus a 15 percent gratuity per person and includes all cocktails, spirits, beer and glasses of wine less than $10. Also, all nonalcoholic drinks served in cans or bottles, as well as mocktails and shakes or included, as are all coffee, tea, espresso and specialty drinks and any food items such as crepes and gelato included with the coffee card. Each purchaser of the package also receives a 40 discount on all bottled wine less than $100.

Princess cruisers may purchase the package on seven-night or longer cruises on board Star Princess or Sapphire Princess. All passengers traveling in the same stateroom must purchase the package, and any children over 6 years old traveling with adults who purchase the package must also purchase the $8.05 per person/per day Unlimited Soda & More package.

If deemed successful, the program will be rolled out to the rest of the Princess fleet by spring 2014. Princess is one of the last cruise lines to adopt an all-inclusive beverage package program.

  5. The Coffee Card Is Geared Towards Say "Starbucks" Drinkers.

I have Gold Card From Starbucks So The Coffee Card Is a Must For Me.

I also drink coffee throughout the day not just in the morning.

I don't think the "Coffee Card" is for you but that doesn't mean you can't purchase specialty coffees individually or a good cup of brewed @ the IC.

    HAVE FUN!

  6. HI All!:D

Question 1- If I've already paid my cruise in full is there a place on "My Princess" that will show what purchases I've made to apply to this cruise? (Spa Credit, Coffee Card, Extra OBC)

Question 2- When you order from Princess they make you select which area you would like to buy credit towards. Once on board is it all grouped as OBC or do I have to use it specifically for those areas? (Excursions, Spa, Casino)

Question 3- If I purchase Lotus Spa Credit can it be used towards fitness classes? yoga, spinning? Or again is it all just grouped as OBC?

    Thank You!

    Jamie

  7. I took one of these out of Ft Lauderdale in January (2014) and it was GREAT! Ship was full of avid cruisers many on B2B.

My fare showed up as a FCC credit and was applied to my balance for an April (2014) Transatlantic. Very Easy.

Great Promotion and I'm sure it got avid cruisers on board but I'm not so sure about targeting new ones.

I took a shuttle to the port with other couples who knew about the promotion but also a few who didn't. A few couples were sailing RCCL for the same duration and weren't too happy when they found out about our promotion.

  8. Funny! The Coffee Card is so important to me I just pre ordered mine for my April cruise. ($31)

I normally drink Lattes/Americanos and Cappuccinos with lots of brewed coffee so for me this is a must.

It's also relaxing to be able to get a nice coffee in the morning from the IC.

  9. Are there two night stands, or one double-wide?

I've been on plaza a lot, and many of the cabins have

a special double-wide night stand -- apparently because

they are slightly narrower than other cabins.

So, if you have a queen bed, either one side has to be against

the wall, or you have to turn the night stand sideways, and lose

    access to the drawers.

Other than that, I love plaza. Perfect to run out to the i.cafe

for first coffee of the day.

We also had two night stands and would fall asleep with the bridge cam channel on.. It was nice to wake up to that's for sure.

I love also just being able wander out in my yoga pants and zip up running jacket to grab a coffee and a breakfast sandwich.

It's also convenient to the laundry room which was nice when I needed to just quickly iron a pair of pants. :) I wouldn't travel on any other deck.

Have a Trans Atlantic booked for April on this deck also an interior,I don't need to be reminded we are at sea for 6 Days

  10. Our first time to choose interior on 15 day Hawaii cruise in October and would appreciate any input on available staterooms. The ones remaining seem to be below just the entrance to Princess theater. P239, 240, 243, 424, 263.

Has anyone stayed in any of these staterooms and any comments, positive or negative as to location, possible noise, etc?

I think the furthest I have stayed back was P227 and I didn't hear any noises.

This is my favorite deck and I've stayed in a plaza cabin on 3 different princess ships. (Grand, Crown, Ruby)

It's so great to be so close to the IC in the morning :)

  11. The area that serves Pizza outside on deck also turns into a waffle bar in the morning on some ships.

I had great hot waffles from a waffle maker with berries and cream and

I didn't even have to enter the Horizon court... very relaxing.

  12. I already had the promotion applied from our January Sailing and was used to pay for my April Transatlantic. Those who took those sailings make sure your Credit shows in your personalizer.

I was surprised at how many people who were on the qualified sailing weren't aware of the promotion.

  13. You can get a great cup of Large tea for no punches on your Coffee Card as long as the card is purchased on that sailing.

If your card is from a past sailing it will have to get punched

Morning tea and breakfast is so convenient and hassle free in the IC.

If you sit at the IC they will bring you a nice pot of your chosen tea to your table.

    Well Worth It!

  14. True, each punch of the card equals $2.22 (easy to remember for comparison)

So even owning a card, if buying a $1.75 espresso one would want to charge it to the cabin. They don't force you to use a punch.

    ~sent using Cruise Critic app~

You get free Fresh Brewed with a brand new card, with an old card each coffee is required a punch. After your first cruise you should only use the card for the more expensive coffees.
