  1. Thanks for posting this! We have compared sailing on other lines and for what X provides in perks we don't find that sailing with anyone else would save us money.

Also, when we meet people who have sailed other lines an try X for the first time, they are impressed by the friendliness and how accommodating the staff are.

    I'm not switching anytime soon!

  2. Suite price for April 2017 is now 3 times what we paid in December 2014. And for February 2018 is double what we paid in January 2016.

The only time I've seen a suite price drop was for our Christmas cruise last week. We were then able to move from the S2 assigned with our suite guarantee to a CS with no additional charge.

  3. We usually tip $1.00 per delivery

    Jim

That is what I do. I have also given extra at the end of the day to the waiter who knew what my favourite was and came by with a fresh one every so often without my even having to ask!

Some provide more outstanding service than others.

  4. The the Aft Corner S1's on the Solstice Class ships all have poles, but they are no bother at all.

When I had my DD in one for the first time, someone at dinner about the 3rd night asked about the pole and she had to go back to the room to prove to herself there even was one.

You can request to eat in Blu and will be accommodated if there is space.

There are no complimentary beverages (except for welcome sparkling wine) provided in the cabin.

    Enjoy!

  5. DH wears his tux and I wear gowns for 'elegant' nights. I wear dresses and DH wears slacks and a short sleeve dress shirt every other night.

That is part of the charm of cruising for us: Date nights all week!

Cruising with DD (22) next month and she loves the opportunity to dress for dinner too!

  6. I agree with everyone else on face wipes for face makeup. The only thing that gets mascara off my lashes is oil-based. I prefer the Clinique Take the Day Off (the one that looks like it's oil and water in a purple bottle). One gentle swipe and my mascara is off. You can pour it into a smaller container to travel (shake it first to mix it up); I never need much.

I have always used the Clinique Take the Day Off for years. My daughter likes the Neutrogena wipes, but they don't seem to like me.

Clinique just came out with a new Take the Day Off Balm that I have started using in conjunction with the same line of eye makeup remover and it really leaves my skin feeling clean, soft and silky! DD just came home from school for a week and took mine home with her!
