Curious for opinions. We fly out to Rome in a few days to board Odyssey for its transatlantic back to Florida. With all the crazy going on and things seemingly escalating every day in the middle east, would you still go? As of right now, we're planning on going but just being a little more cautious.

We’re on this transatlantic also. Flying out the 24th and arriving in Rome on the 25th.  We are confident all will be safe.

I've been watching a few sailings on two different ships for next year for about two months now. It's always the same (limited) cabins that are available on each deck. Same cabin numbers on same decks for each different sailing date on the same ships (looking at next summer).

One ship has the same decks and cabin numbers available on each sailing - all at really bad locations - all the way front or all the way aft. The other ship ONLY shows guarantee balconies (for cruises 10-12 months out).  I don't want a guarantee balcony and I don't want to be all the way aft/fore and I really doubt this is the actual room availability. I know I can book now and change later as cabins become available, but if I book a guarantee the price to choose my cabin if that option becomes available will probably cost as much as another cruise.. Really annoying.

I know RCCL is holding back rooms to give the appearance of high demand and pressure people to hit that book button but trying to give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe it's just a coincidence on these two ships that I'm watching.

Their pricing shenanigans and cut backs as of late are really starting to get to me.

Anyone else notice this when price shopping for next year?

This is why I use a travel agent.  She has real time access to the cabins which usually shows more availabilities than their website shows.

We will be on the same b2b.

I’ve always gone to the Caribbean or Bermuda. I was excited to book Canada. And then I read about all these authorizations… Grrrr

What will you be doing in Boston? We booked a great excursion through RC to Cape Cod for the day, and they cancelled it! So this is the only port I don’t know what to do. I’ve been there many times so for one day I just can’t decide. Was thinking maybe a Whale Watching trip.

In Boston we’re doing the hop on/hop off bus.  We’ve done it before, but our friends have not.  Also going to try and have lunch at Cheers!!  We’ve had these two cruises booked forever,  and kept having to lift and shift.

I don’t eat fish at all. But DH loves it. We’re in search of the best lobster 🦞 rolls for him. Lol

Im looking forward to Halifax to try the Poutine and the Beavertails.

And Holy Donuts in Portland!  🍩

We are big foodies so this should be a great trip. We have never been to Canada.

Our friends from Ohio who will be on the 9 day portion of the b2b mentioned Beavertails.  I’ve never heard of them.  The last time we were in Portland, we found a donut shop.  Have no clue what the name of it was.  Bar Harbor might be a good place for your hubby to find a lobster roll.  Just go early because last time a ship was in port, some restaurants ran out of them.  We are geocachers, but have already found geocaches in all these places!!

I plan on doing Horseshoe Beach in Bermuda by shuttle.

I booked Discover Cape Cod for Boston, but Royal just canceled the excursion. I was so bummed. I don’t know what to do there now.

Bar Harbor we booked Olis Trolleys for a tour to Acadia National Park

Portland we’re doing a Lobster boat. We will sight see and learn about Lobstering and if we pull up a lobster, we can buy it and have it cooked at Portland Lobster Co.

Halifax we’re doing the Harbour Hopper and then a walk up to the Citadel.

St John we booked a trolley tour.

Getting anxious now after writing all that!
    How about you?

In Bermuda we always go to St. George to the perfumery so I can restock.  On our way back we always stop for lunch at our favorite restaurant, The Swizzle Inn.  We’ve done the caves and Horseshoe Beach.  We have nothing booked on the 9 day cruise except in St. John where we’re taking a tour to the Bay of Fundy and the reversing tides.  We’ve done Acadia and loved it.  Beautiful area.  The lobster boat sounds interesting except I’d never cook it since I am not a fan of most seafood.  I probably should do some more research on the other places to find things to do.

I will be doing the same as yours. October 8th to Bermuda, October 13th to Can/NE on Adventure.
Im hearing that Royal will test us. We will get info on where to go and when during the Bermuda cruise.

Yep, those are the same exact dates as ours.  Even though Bermuda is a 5 day cruise, I’m assuming we still have to test pre cruise since Bermuda requires it.

I'm doing a B2B in October on the Adventure where the second leg is Bermuda. How did you deal with their required COVID-19 test since Royal no longer does testing on a B2B. And did you have any problems uploading the results and getting confirmation from Bermuda? I've called Royal multiple times and have gotten answers all over the place. I'd like to hear from people who have actually been through this and not just opinions. Thanks in advance.

I’m curious as well.  We’re doing the same B2B on Adventure, but in reverse order. First Bermuda, then NE/Canada.

My thoughts exactly, shof515. Bermuda 5 night cruises out of Cape Liberty go through September. You can't get off the ship in Bermuda unless you pay your $40 and have a covid test. RC Was doing the checking before boarding. Now what?

We’re on a 5 day to Bermuda in October, followed by a 9 day to NE/Canada.  I think we’re going to be at the mercy of the destination countries.

Waiter said bc Anthem is so large it travels at 20 knots max. If weather is bad they slow down even more and ultimately gets delayed also ship travels against the current slowing it down.
Also note the time you have to be back onboard. Today it’s 8:30pm for us.

    Good luck

Thanks!!  We’re pretty much meeting relatives at Fishlips for an early dinner, so we’ll be close!!

I think I just had to have the most luckiest RoyalUp win ever. We are booked for Navigator OTS for April 4th. (4 Night Cruise). Wife and I booked a GTY Suite, and were placed in a JS on the 10th floor.

Our sons and their great aunt were in a GTY Balcony that on the same floor as our JS (Felt lucky about that) and I just won an upgrade for their room to a JS. But get this. They are now in the JS right next door to us. 1540 and 1544. Can't be happier for how it worked out. So much so, I canceled our upgrade bids for a GS or a 2BR GS. It's a short trip, and the convenience of having everyone close by really nice.

Congratulations!!  We cruise on 4/10 and my JS bid has been pending with no ability to modify or cancel for about 2 weeks now.  I’m not counting on anything happening.

I’d seen a few questions about Cue Health’s at home test kits and whether they’d be accepted by Royal Caribbean. I did see one person say it worked in December, but I found a few questions about this that went unanswered.

As an experiment, I brought my proctored (their “plus” subscription benefit) negative test results and they were accepted just fine. The only issue was that the form wasn’t in a standard form (there apparently isn’t one; they’re all different in some way), but there were no problems being accepted either at the front door or when checking in in the suite area (Port of Miami) other than trying to find the test date on the form. (I had brought CVS antigen test results as a backup just in case.)

Thank you for this post!  We have the Cue system and will be using it for our 4/10 cruise proctored test.  We’ve also made appointments at CVS, just in case.
