  1. I know this is by no means even close to a scientific poll but no one on here seems to care about this new "order what you want, when you want and get it delivered" feature so why not just eliminate that and reinstate the AIBP , which people DO care about.

Is that too simple a solution?:eek:

That is what I care about. I like the ability to try different things and not worry about the bill at the end of the day.

  2. So happy to have found this thread. Booked on June 18 Amsterdam to Basil. Have cruised many ocean cruises, but this will be my first river cruise on Avalon Felicity. I am a solo cruiser and this type of cruise sounds quite different than what I'm used to but I am quite social and enjoy experiencing new adventures. Anyone else on this one?

  3. It's been nearly a week of not being able to access Princess website to update cruise info. Finally called them today and was told that it appears to be an iPad issue where you can only access the website using chrome not safari. I finally tried my antiquated Windows computer and it worked fine when I tried that. I told him I wasn't too happy about the solution offered and he suggested I contact customer relations.

  4. If you take a traditional cruise ship all the way to the North Cape (few actually include this in their "fjord" cruises) it is very likely that you will be far off-shore between the major ports they visit, perhaps only Tromso and Trondheim in the far north, for example. They will have longer port stays, but on Hurtigruten you will have many more ports, and travel on more protected waters, between islands, and fjords, between these ports. Of course, as above, if you have to have bingo, production shows, art actions, etc. on a cruise, like dressing up for dinner, or need to eat 24/7, and are not happy with the glorious scenery alone to entertain you, you will probably be happier on a traditional cruise ship.

Don't need bingo, production shows, art auctions, or dressing for dinner. Guess I was more interested in the food options, and options in ports for checking out the area. Also wondered about the crew. Are they locals. What kind of service is offered? I've read there are 3 meals, two buffets and sit down dinners. Does this sound right?

  5. Attended a AAA cruise show yesterday. Asked many different cruise lines about solo fares. Sounds like they are few and far between. However AMA Waterways offers solo cruising and doesn't increase their fares. Has anyone tried them?

  6. I found myself traveling solo for the first time last fall with one do notice. My friends that I was traveling with had to go home for family emergency.i am a pretty independent person but my husband had passed away two months before and we had done 17 cruises together. I knew I could do it, but had to figure out how I was going to do it. I Signed up for traditional dining thinking I didn't want to eat alone and there were two other ladies at my table traveling alone. I signed up for some shore excursions at the last minute and met some nice folks on the excursions. I ate breakfast a few times in the main dining room and shared my table. All in all I met some very nice people. The crew was great and I really was comfortable traveling alone. Thinking of doing a Mexico cruise alone this spring but it's dang expensive to travel solo if you want a balcony cabin. Go for it!

  7. Thanks everyone.

But how to get a ticket for the tendering boat? Any tips?

We lined up as early as possible. It was my bucket list and. Was not going to miss out! My cruise buddies were not as excited about this as I was but they followed my passion.
