  1. We have stayed in 7708 and loved it!!! Would definitely try to get on of the corner afts since the balconies are huge and there is also a round opening to the side of the ship where there is no obstruction of the view!

We have this cabin next April...can't wait!

  2. Woohoo! Yay! I'm so excited. Wish it wasn't so far off though. We've always been curious about trying an aft cabin, and so happy this particular one was available. Not too worried about the extra walking. My husband and I are big walkers and walk the ship several times a day. Good excuse to double up on dessert! :D

Have you thought about getting a hammock for the balcony?

Yes we have, not sure whether we will or not. I think my hubby would have a hard time getting in and out of it. Glad the loungers are there, will be enjoying those and just chllin...I try to imagine what it will be like sitting on the balcony enjoying the view and can't quite get the picture out of my head. Oh the wait will be worth it:)

  3. You have one of the two deck 7 HUGE corner aft balconies on FOS, so you can party with all your friends out there with room to spare! There's even plenty room for a hammock, although your balcony will have 3 loungers instead of 2 since it's rated a triple. We loved ours on Navigator - hope you'll enjoy yours just as much!;)

I have no doubt at all that we will enjoy it. Just to be able to relax on the lounger with a cold one in hand is all I need. Of course the views will be amazing and I think we will be spending a lot of time on our balcony. This is only our 2nd cruise and can't wait to experience another one.

  4. Hey Avonb...We are on the same sailing but I think I am going to change my Aft. I am just not sure if I can get around looking at the substructure. I am going to get a junior suite instead. My aft that I booked is on Dec 9 towards the corner. (right next to the corner Aft). If you want, you can have it. Not sure if the one you booked is better.

It took me a lot of searching to find a sailing with the cabin of our choice. We do not want to be any higher than deck 7 so that is why we are happy with 7708 and the substructure doesn't bother us. Plus we like the fact that we have some coverage and from all the pics we have seen we know this is a good choice for us.

Hey Theavonb? When in April are you going? We tried to get that cabin for our April 6th trip but they said its a cabin for four people and you have to pay for four people.

We booked back in March for the April 6th sailing to secure that cabin as my hubby has this thing for heights. When he saw a picture of it he said he could handle the height issue. My TA wasn't told this about the cabin and she said it was a triple and not to worry about it. Sure hope it isn't an issue. Our first time on FOS and first aft.

  6. 7708 will be the BEST of the Afts! It's huge and on the corner with the big side porthole, so you'll have both the side and back view. It will look very similar to the balcony in my pic above (the one with DH in his hammock) but it's on the opposite side of the ship. (And by the way, DH took a bunch of pics of how he hung the hammock....just FYI if you're thinking of trying that.)

Yes I think you're right...you'll probably love the 7708 corner aft balcony!

I remember seeing those pics, very cool idea...we are very excited and can't wait!

  7. We were just on FOS in 7708. We absolutely LOVED our balcony. The rest of my family certainly had aft envy :). I'll try to post a few pics...

I loved getting room service coffee in the morning and just sitting out there watching the sunrise. We had a nice little breeze but it was never too windy even though at times it was like a hurricane on deck LOL. I also liked that it was covered, we were able to be out on deck the very few times it rained. Didn't notice any soot at all. We were part of a group of thirteen and everyone was on our balcony for a sailaway party with plenty of room. We grabbed some champagne from the bar and some snacks from Sorrento's and the Cafe Promenade. Best room we ever had!!!

Thankyou so much for posting your pics...our 1st cruise on FOS isn't until next April, booked early to get 7708...so excited to see what an aft balcony will be like...this will be our 2nd cruise and can't wait...

  8. There are 2 outlets under the mirror, HOWEVER; there is one European spec (220V) and one North American spec (120V). The 120V is just like a common household outlet that can accept 2 power cords.

The card slot controls all the lights in the room, including the bathroom.

See my cabin video in my sig below.

I enjoyed your cove balcony video. Hubby and I did our first cruise on the Dream in Nov. and we had a cove balcony and loved it! Looking at the Breeze for next Nov. because we just have to have another cove.

    Thanks...

  9. Because if you used your S&S card for the safe, it would be possible for Carnival employees to get into the safe easily. After all, they program your S&S card with the information... what's to stop them from making a duplicate. A blank card or gift card has information on the strip they do not have access to. Better to be safe than sorry.

Does anyone know if this is what you need for the Dream safes?

  10. Just back from the Western Itinerary of the Dream.

    Here are my $.02.

Our Cove balcony was fabulous. A guy was actually fishing from his in Belize.

Tea time is 3-4 pm on Sea days.

Chocolate Buffet is during lunch on the last sea day.

Hit the Pasta bar early in the week. Our table mates tried to go on the last sea day, and couldn't get in.

NOTHING TO DO IN BELIZE if you do not book an excursion. It is a Tendered port, and knowing now what I know, I would not have gone over.

Booked Maya Chan in Costa Maya. Fabulous place, fabulous time.

Try the Carnival Dog at the BBQ cookout on the Lanai. Yummy.

Go to the casino to get a hole punched in your sign and sail card. No line, and we each got a free lanyard!

In Roatan, get your passport stamped for a small donation (collection to put public bathrooms in the country's schools)

Also in Roatan, buy 1 lb of Honduran coffee at the back of the square. $14 per lb, but the more you buy, the more you save. We got 3 lb for $12/ lb. And boy is it ever good.

Use Luggage Express to disembark if you are flying.

We have a cove balcony booked and are excited about it. Glad you liked yours. What cabin # did you have? Did anyone ever come and tell the guy that was fishing he couldn't do that? Just curious.

  11. Have a GREAT TIME! That's the only thing (hindsight) we would have done differently was booked a Cove balcony for that cruise.

We did book one for our upcoming B2B on the Breeze however :D

That would be an interesting cruise. I will see how we do on this one...you never know! I did a lot of research on the cove and it just looks amazing to me. You to have a great cruise. I looked at the breeze as well but settled for the Dream.
