Just got off Equinox in a suite. We went to tea nearly every afternoon. The scones were small, but seemed very tasty to me, I’m not a connoisseur, though. In the Retreat they offer Tea Forte, but had to dig through the boxes to find Earl Grey - that I thought was odd, I didn’t ask for green tea, now I wish I had. The little sandwiches and empanadas were good too.

The last day, they had some other little baked goods that looked like slightly larger scones with a tiny bit of glazing sugar on top, but the texture was entirely different, completely crumbled apart when you tried to bite them and not very good. I thought they might have been shortbread without enough butter in the recipe, but they were not good, maybe that’s what Blondebomb had on Silhouette?

No these were scones. They served them every day. No glazing on them either. They just were baked too long and then sit in the hot chafe dish which is to keep them warm but ends up baking them longer.

Everything else they served like the little sandwiches was fine.

It cold where I am today. Could sure use a warm scone now. 😉

An ice cube to cool down hot tea?  I’m sorry but you just invented iced tea.  😂

Nah, this is VERY hot water! I just use a few ice chips. They also have cocoa mix besides coffee and decaf as well. 😉

But did they offer an Elite Tea..?  Usually in Tuscan.

We did not see that listed at all.
They do offer premium tea at the Cafe Bacio . While I do like their complementary petite desserts, I don’t care for that tea. So I would go up to OV and get it.

What sort of tea do they have up there?

    Tea.  Earl Grey.  Hot?

Bigelow brand. Tons of selection! I make mine in a large plastic glass then get a cup of ice to cool it down.
I drink hot tea at most all my meals. Have it after dinner in the dining room as well.
The food was excellent and so was the service.

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to update what we experienced on our January cruise on the Silhouette. Tea time was up OV and just wasn't what we had been used to. Had different sandwiches  but the scones were much smaller and it is like they baked them for the same amount of time as when large. When you would try to open they literally crumbed on your plate. The jam was still good but the clotted cream 😩 I would have even rather had Cool whip. It seem old and curdled.

We tried it 4 day in a row. Sadly always the same as soon as they open. Dry hockey pucks.

We have a cruis in 3 week on the Edge, will try it again. Hoping much better.

I’m back to report the scones on Edge!!
They were delicious!! They were up in Oceanview every day starting at 3:30 -5

They had two varieties. Plain and raisin. Strawberry jam and clotted cream!
I will say everything on Edge was wonderful. Even did evening buffet one night. Massive selections of fresh food.
It was not the new paired down selections like on our Silhouette ship in Jan 2023.
We were thrilled. It was like the Celebrity we were used to.

  7. Glad you were able to still enjoy the Apex. We went on the Edge pre Covid. We get on Apex this Jan 22,2022. Coming from Indiana we fly down on the 20th. Hopefully no cancellations for flights.🙏🏻
I was curious if your husband Covid test had come back yet? ?
I had the flu right after Thanksgiving. Took several test. Just the flu.

    Hope he’s feeling better

  8. We booked a SS2 on the new Edge, for Feb 2019. While we have cruised many times we thought we would splurge for our 35 th Anniversary. My question is my husband had always taken a small hand steamer to use for his dress and Polo shirts(Holland has been the only line that kept it until we got off) Is this something you ask the butler about? Sending them to be press would be $$$ I would think. We are pretty low maintenance people so was curious about this. Thanks for any insight.

  9. Yep, even in June. Fly in a day early!!. On our last cruise (i know this is very unusual) but the Fort Lauderdale airport was closed due to the 5 killings. I about freaked when I got a text on my cell at 10pm that our early flight the next morning was cancelled!!.

  10. Ship - Vista

    Deck - Lido

    Stateroom # - 10280

    Stateroom Category - 4I

    Starboard or Port - Port

Quiet Stateroom? Absolutely NOT!! Directly over IMAX theater. Don't book any of the inside Lido rooms aft of the elevators. Terrible booming bass/vibrations every night until 1-2AM.

Cabin was not a connecting stateroom

Positive aspect of cabin was good A/C and close proximity to pool, bar, and food.

:oThank you thank you for posting this!!. We are looking to book Vista tomorrow and need help on deciding on a balcony cabin. I was concerned about the IMAX and now know I am right!!

  11. The rudeness police are back.

No FlyerTalker, I was just TRYING to get us to focus so people feel safe to ask a question on here. Just don't understand why snarky comments are needed.

I too was looking for some info for my husband's new cell phone. He wants to use it as his camera and I don't want charges. He has to work right up till we leave for the airport as to WHY he bought it and still isn't tech savvy with it.

Anyway, got to packing for my Cruise in a few days.

  12. One of the best parts of cruising for us is ditching the cell phones. It's not about knowing how to use the phone. It's about unplugging for us.

The original poster simply asked an innocent question about how to set her cell phone clock.

Totally understand why another poster timidly raised her hand.

Let's not be rude with our replies.

  13. We get on the Breeze next Sunday. We will keep it nice for you!

When I read your thread about transportation, the car rental etc I had to laugh outloud. That would be me!

Skip the parking garage part though.

I am just now making arrangements for our shuttle also. Late in the game this cruise but doing this cruise kind of last min. Stressed out taking care of my 90 yr old dad,( who is doing good. Just need a break!!

Susan from Indiana just hope the weather doesn't act up for us.

  14. Our cruise itinerary indicates that we are due to arrive back from our cruise at 8am in Miami. What is the earliest time you would schedule your flight home from Miami airport. We have FTTF if that matters.

    Thanks.

Any different feeling about Fort Lauderale port to airport??

We plan on doing Self-assist disembark. FTTF sold out on Conquest. 11am flight?

anythoughts? No kids just hubby and I.

    thanks for input.
