If 18 then the guest will have to sign the medical permission form as they are a legal adult. No permission from their parents needed.

If one person cancels the other has to pay the single supplement which is 100% of the cruise fare so it makes no difference. You could change the NAME of the person sailing without any penalty (or change the cabin/category)

Ask your medical professional about the compatibility of YOUR internal hardware.
If in doubt, have them do a manual search.

Just watch Border Security for a sense of what happens when you lie to border officers. What would have been a "don't worry about it" or "this item isn't allowed, we'll just seize it and put it in the incinerator" turns into massive penalties, denied entry, or even connecting bracelets.
Nothing really bad will happen to (most) anyone who is honest with Border Control.

In my mind, the purpose of insurance is to deal with the ruinous costs, not the things that are just an inconvenience. For example, I insure against the loss of my house, but I decline "insurance" on TVs and other electronics. I insure for medical when I'm outside Canada, but not for lost luggage.
If I can get a decent price on cancellation/interruption with my medical, I'll get it, but if not, I insure medical and evacuation to make sure I can at least get back to a Canadian hospital (if not my local one).
In your case, since medical is your biggest concern, if you have a plan that covers or waives your pre-existing stuff for the entire time you are away, then you are good. Consider anything else covered at no extra cost a bonus.

Was the trip purchased (and the insurance) PRIOR to the change in schedule? If so, that does sound like you have a case, BUT, read the fine print, and speak to the insurance company. Hopefully, the superintendent is a reasonable person and she gets the approval based on the fact the trip was booked based on what she knew of start dates PRIOR to the change.

Your first payment is the deposit. No other payments are required until the final payment deadline.
With the non-refundable deposit option, once you pay the deposit you are committed to the penalties.
Thus is why for our 2019 cruise we are booked under the refundable rules. Not enough difference in price to take a chance.

There is no cash refund of the deposit.
Any change to the ship and/or sail date results in a $100 per person penalty, which is removed from your credit. Here is an example with easy number.
Cruise price is $2500 for 2 people (total). It had a $500 deposit.
It is before final payment, and you have already paid $1100 towards the cruise, leaving a balance of $1400.
You cancel.
You get $600 back (what you paid over the deposit).
From your deposit, you get a $300 credit towards a future cruise, the other $200 is kept by RCL.

With us, they save up, turn it in to us, and we buy that amount in OBC plus give out back to them in US dollars for port shopping (essentially we match their savings - we like to encourage saving for something rather than spending it add soon as they get it). Any of that amount they don't spend is theirs to keep. We then put the limit on the card to cit them off. We do buy then the soda package.
Mine are 16 and 13 now.

Our card got denied last night when we tried to make a payment. Our bank thought it was suspicious so we had to call them and let them know it was a valid purchase and then they let it go through.
Did you get "invalid card number" or was it a different message? I used my card again a few minutes ago, and no issues, so my bank hasn't blocked the card entirely....

Anyone having issues with the royalcarribbean.com taking a payment?
I've tried both my cards and my wife's cards - all are valid and working for sure, as they have been used in the past 48 hours.
Keep getting the message that they are invalid credit card numbers.
I had my wife double check my data entry, the numbers are correct, the expiry dates are correct, and the address information is also correct. I also know for a fact there is enough room on the cards to cover the charge. Trying to put in a charge of $150 (we pay a bit every month to make budgeting easier) and there is at least $10k in credit available on the cards.

Green Monday dropped our 2019 cruise about $175 and gave us $100 in OBC we didn't previously have (using refundable deposit btw). Just keep checking.

Military ID != Passport.
Rules for US Citizens for a round trip cruise (which this is not) require either a passport OR (Drivers Licence + Birth Certificate). Maybe the military ID + Birth Certificate combination would have worked, I'm not sure, but only for you. Not your wife.
This one is 100% on you, not the cruise line as it is a Customs/Border rule, NOT a cruise line rule. Cruise lines can make and break their own rules, they cannot touch government ones.
And since this cruise was going from one US port to another, is a passport required for US Citzens on this? I'm Canadian, so I always need my passport just to get to the port anyway.

With getting your cards at your cabin:
A) If the cards are locked in your cabin, how do you initially enter your cabin to get them.
B) If the cards are outside your cabin, what prevents Joe Blow from taking your cards?

Book it. If the price drops on Monday, cancel and buy it againI am seeing Buy one Get one 1/2 off for deluxe drink package for our July Harmony sailing. It looks like that is $45/day....Does that seem like a good deal...Does anyone think the specials will get better on Cyber Monday vs Black Friday? Thanks.Sent from my LG-H831 using Forums mobile app

I believe that in order to get the extra OBC you need to switch 6 months out.
Ooooohh. That could make a difference as well when thinking of switching over to the dark side.

Wow, pays to check regularly. I booked a REFUNDABLE reservation the day they opened for HOTS Sept 8 Western. Today, I was looking and made a dummy reservation and noticed the cruise price dropped for a D8 Oceanview Balcony.
About 8 minutes later, off the phone, and my cruise is CAD$96.00 cheaper.
All told, about 15 minutes. There's not to much I won't do for a little less than $400/hr.
-
If that's the case, I will look into that. I'm booked for HOTS in Sept 2019. That's too far away, and not enough incentive to have booked Non-Refundable, but closer to Final Payment I may look into it, once I know for absolute certain (or as certain as we can ever be) that I am going.....
That said, if you make the change to Non-Refundable, I'm assuming the reservation is re-priced to the current pricing in effect when you make the change.
-
To reprice the cruise itself and/or get perks from the booking itself you have to do it before final payment. After final payment you are locked in (but you can still fiddle with drink packages, specialty dining etc)

I just booked Harmony for a Western Caribbean for Sept 2019 on a refundable deposit. Discussion with my wife came down to the difference in price (plus OBC) is not enough at this time to justify risking the deposit that far in advance. Depending on Supply and Demand later on, we may change our minds. Now to look into the medical insurance part of things.

Keep in mind if you want to hang around on the ship for a bit you will have to have your luggage with you as you won't have access to your cabin after a certain time.

Can you have them put the baby with the 4 person reservation and you by yourself?

During our upcoming Alaska cruises (doing the RT from Vancouver to Alaska and back) I will have to do some work. My initial plan is to do it in my cabin, but if the WiFi connection isn't great there, or my wife is sleeping, I would like to have a backup plan and find somewhere on the ship that is usually quieter than other places. Sat/Sun about 0800 in the morning, and Wed/Thu/Fri around 1600 for about 3h each time.
I will be primarily doing some voice chat on Discord and have a web site on my laptop. I'm not concerned about people hearing the things I say; no secrets are going to be given away, nor is anyone's privacy at risk. It's more that I need to hear the people on the other end, and they need to hear me. I will be wearing a set of over the ear headphones with a mic.
