I think that "X" doesn't even mind when they LOSE a bit of money on a package-user ... because that passenger has probably enjoyed his/her cruise more than usual and is more likely to be loyal to "X" in the future (since no other cruise line has such packages)! And it is on the passenger's future cruise fares that "X" stands to gain a big profit.

    Please rest at ease.

Lose money.... ever ??? on alcohol ... never...the markup is too high

  2. 4 adults (premium alc) and son (classic non-alc) just returned from Elclipse in the Med. Certainly got our moneys worth, compared to what we would have had to pay at the end of the cruise. No extra tax applied when in Spanish waters.

Normal day - fresh orange at breakfast / water to take ashore and cabin / few cokes/fantas during the day / special coffee in the afternoon (loved the iglu after being onshore). Beer or cider on deck in the afternoon. At 5pm men went for their g+ts and bloody marys and the ladies had a few sailaway cocktails (pina coladas/mudslides). A few vodkas or g+ts back to the room to get ready for dinner. Martini before dinner (guys serving are amazing). 2 or 3 glasses of wine with dinner. Few vodkas / g+t at the show, then a couple of nightcaps in the ensemble lounge.

Went to Qsine (which was fantasic!!!) and in there for 4 1/2 hours. Must have had about 5 or 6 glasses of wine - all included.

I like vodka and coke and prefer a can of coke. Only 2 people objected to me getting these 2 drinks at the same time - so we didn't go back to them, but everyone else was fine.

Our somellier at dinner was great, and most of the time you wouldn't even notice him refilling your glass.

We only found the molecular bar on our last night - maybe just as well as the cocktails were superb.

We never had to sign for anything, but several times items were charged to our account, but this was corrected no problem when pointed out to the staff at guest relations.

Our friends paid for the package beforehand, and had PALL written on them. We got ours when on board and a small sticker was added to the card.

Also, we didnt have a problem getting 4 drinks by 1 person if they had 4 cards.

It certainly added to our enjoyment - not worrying about what we were spending (the cocktails and wine didn;t take long to add up to our $56 daily cost).

thanks for posting ... you sealed the deal

  3. Premium Non-Alcoholic Package

I took this from the Celebrity Web Page, then I called Celebrity to have them clarify this. Neither one comes with Alcohol. The difference is one is like Colombian coffee is a premium as opposed to every day black coffee. The Specialty coffees are like coffees made at Star Bucks. Like Swiss Mocha Latte. I love my coffee so I wanted to make sure I was gonna get my Specialty coffees. So I have to order the non-alcohol Premium to get these.

this information is the EXACT oppisite of what celebrity told me when I called them...I was told that 'starbucks' type drinks were included in classic

  4. It's very interesting (and possibly unfortunate) that you received that answer when you called Celebrity -- because it disagrees with something that they state on another page of their Internet site. Here is what I copied from there on July 28 (with my clarifications in brackets):

"[FAQ:] What is the difference between the 'Premium Coffees' ([available in the] Classic and Premium Nonalcoholic Packages) and the 'Specialty Coffees' ([available in the] Classic and Premium [Alcoholic] Packages?"

"[A:] Premium coffees (e.g. espressos, lattes and capuccinos) are served in our coffee lounges, such as the Cova Bar and Café al Bacio. Specialty coffees include coffee with alcohol and are served in any bar or lounge."

Either the above FAQ & A at the "X" site is wrong ... or what you were told over the phone is wrong. Here is the URL of the above FAQ & A:

    http://www.celebritycruises.com/beforeyourcruise/faq/home.do;jsessionid=0000pRoBhS5IxI1cgQeh32VmXn6:12hdebcnj?faqSubjectName=Beverage+Packages&faqId=4044&pagename=faq_answers

PS to "CLEMM," "kitty9," and "gillianrose": Thank you SO very much for standing up for honesty. You made my day. It was refreshing to read your comments.

I contacted Celeb via phone and was told premium coffee included coffee drinks/latte/espresso/mocha latte etc ... specialty coffee included coffee with liquor

I am hoping this is correct and it would be nice if someone who has used the classic package would post here ... this is a deciding factor for me for the package ... if the classic pkg does not allow coffee drinks such has mocha's and latte's then I would consider the premium ... I dont want liquor in my coffee drink but I do enjoy a latte in the morning over a regular coffee

  5. ON the FAQ page at celeb I found this infor regarding coffee drinks ... I found it helpful and thought others might ... if you are thinking of the beverage pkg ...you should check out the FAQ section with regards to drink pkgs ...it has good info:

Premium coffee's (e.g. espresso's, latte's and capuccino's) are served in our coffee lounge's such as the Cova Bar and Café al Bacio, specialty coffee's include coffee with alcohol and are served in any bar or lounge.

    regards,

    eileen

  6. you said :"Sparkling waters, smoothies, and red bulls cost less than 8 dollars a glass but these are not included in the classic package"......

how do you know this ??? I havent read anywhere about exclusions such as the ones you listed here ..did you find this on celeb website ??

    thnx

    ALSO for anyone else

is there anywhere on the ship I cannot get a drink with the drink package ???? restrictions ??

    thanks again

  7. If you go to the website sea scanner dot com (all one word) you can check on availability. Sometimes great staterooms are released back into inventory as people cancel their cruises, or change cabins.

I just checked **seascan******** dot com for availablility on my cruise and called celeb and the cabins I want are available but not on ***seascann******* ...so I am not sure of its reliability...
