  1. We are arriving at 1pm and planning to spend the afternoon at the beach. We are there until 8pm and looking for something to do in the early evening. Any suggestions? Have seen the Carenage mentioned, is that worth a visit? As we would probably be there somewhere between 4 and 7pm, will things be open?

  2. my husband i are traveling on legend of the seas. we booked 6562 and according to the web site the cabin has a balcony e2 categry. but whrn we looked at the ship on line that deck does not have balcony. we called rccl to verify and the told us its a statrroom with balcony, but all we saw where ocean view. can anybody help us. we are very confused. any info would be much appreciated. than you.

Prior to the Legend's refurb. earlier this year, all cabins on Deck 6 were oceanview (no balconies). Part of the refurb. included 'adding' balconies on that deck. You are undoubtedly looking at a picture taken before the refurb. Happy sailing and enjoy your balcony!!

  3. Actually, yes, Jambe Des Bois is the "beach" restaurant, and is inside PI. It is not on the beaches near the front of the park, it is a ways back near pier area. Lovely shack looking type place. Great eats.

Captain's Cellar used to be in the ruins near the front of the park. Conflicting reports on whether they are still open. Days may vary.

Thanks for your response on the restaurant.

I'm trying to picture the size of the park and what the distances are (i.e. lots of walking?). Is the restaurant relatively close to the beach? I'm assuming the ship excursion will drop us off at the park entrance (?), is it a long walk to beach/restaurant?

    Thanks so much.

  4. We sailed on the Legend to Hawaii many years ago. We are thinking about the Legend for Med next summer. I'm disappointed to find that there is no mini-fridge in the balcony cabins. Does this apply to ALL balcony cabins? They still have the shower curtains too??? Will the menu change slightly when it heads to the Med?

We are booked on a future Legend cruise. We have a D2 Balcony - Superior Ocean View Stateroom. According to the deck plans on the Royal site it does have a fridge. So check the deck plans for your balcony category, it would appear that some do and some don't.

  5. Thanks macdons and mn_isla_girl for your responses. Great info and great pics. I've also read somewhere that there is a beach bar/rest there, have either of you tried it?

  6. I'm happy to see these pictures since I just booked a "Panoramic Ocean View" cabin on the Legend and the Grandeur. I booked Deck 8 first and then went with Deck 7 so I wouldn't risk having too much noise overhead! I think Deck 7 is a good location, and the window really looks great in the pictures! Thanks for posting the question and the pictures!

    Suzanne:)

    Oh Suzanne, too funny.

I'm on your Legend roll call and when I saw this thread I thought of you and your cabin and was about to go there to send you to this thread. But I see you are one step ahead of me!

  7. Hi Trainman......you're the best!

I started with a list of questions and many have been answered over the course of this thread. Here is what I have left on my list -

    1) MDR - have read somewhere about a buffet lay-out for breakfast, is this true, in addition to the regular menu?

    2) MDR - is there a charge for espresso drinks?

    3) Room Service - any chance you can post a pic?

    4) Formal Nights - how up/down did the majority dress?

    5) TV - how were the tv selections in the staterooms? Reception?

    Thanks a bunch!

  8. Just finished reading the 59 pages and loved every minute of it!

Question or comment about "Santa" - I'm pretty sure he was on a Carnival Liberty cruise on March 4, 2006 with a group of Jimmy Buffett fans - 450 of them, in fact. He always wore shorts and on formal night he had his black shorts on with his white tuxedo shirt and jacket. Oh, and he also wore either a cheeseburger or parrot hat on his head with this outfit.

One more comment on the funny mouth/throat feeling - you might want to always carry Benadryl or something like it with you in case it ever happens again. Our family always ate seafood a lot and after a shrimp dinner when she was about 45 years old she broke out in a terrible rash. I gave her a Benadryl and the rash and itching quickly went away. She checked with her company nurse the next day and was told to avoid shellfish which she has done since.

However, when were on the Rhapsody in Australia she ate something and started breaking out in a rash again. We think there was some kind of sauce she ate that probably contained shellfish. It was not listed on the menu and she never thought to ask. Lesson learned.

Enjoy the rest of your cruise. You are a special couple.

Hi. My sister has a bad allergy to shellfish which she stays away from. She does eat other fish (sole, haddock, snapper etc.). However, after eating grouper once she had a severe allergic reaction. She was told by the doctor that groupers "feed" on shrimp and that was the problem. fyi
