Is it only the Scottish flights that are using non Thomson charters?
I would like to know what the impact of using non Thomson planes would be in an emergency such as the ash cloud.
Would we then be dependent on another company to get us home? If something like luggage allowance is affected by the carrier, then surely everything else is?
Does this mean that you are no longer buying the complete package?
Can anyone from the team answer these questions?
Can you also explain to us why Scottish flights (and others that I may not know about) are being outsourced? Is this cost cutting to pay for the Dreamliner? That would be ironic!
This happened to us when we had a dreadful Monarch flight from Edinburgh to Corfu on our last cruise I know from comments on FB that many other customers are less than impressed by this.

Good for you, Sir :) Enjoy

What great news for your special birthday, Linda :)
I agree with you that Thomson could do a lot more at very little cost to themselves to make people feel special on important occasions.

It is good that it is still permissible to drink duty free in your cabin. I can understand why Thomson don't want people to bring drink onboard when they sell it duty free.

We stayed in 376 and liked it very much. It is in a great position and I wouldn't hesitate to stay in that area again.

Congrats, Geo, on your 1,000th post :)

Yes, it is not good that they haven't refurbished the Dream bathrooms.
-
Thanks, JH, for the excellent review and photos. The furnishings and carpets look very similar to the Dream refurb.
I haven't been on the Celebration for a long time but she is looking very good and is tempting me back on her.
Can I ask what your itinerary was?

Geo, there is a hyphen in the middle :)
Brilliant news, SM :)

That's interesting. Through talking to some of the crew on the Majesty last year, we discovered that part of the waiters' appraisal was based upon how much they sell, as well as other factors such as the customer questionnaires. I think they are under pressure to meet targets in sales and excellent scores in our feedback. That is in our interests, of course, that Thomson are monitoring the service we receive very carefully but it could be responsible for some of the strange goings on with wine. The house wine they serve to AI customers by the glass will cost less than a better bottle of wine. Perhaps a target that week was to shift some of the more expensive wines?
Stock control must also be a factor here. From numerous comments on here it seems that the Dream has had issues with this recently.

I knew you would be well impressed, Kruzseeka, as soon as I saw those lovely en suites :D
Thank you so much for posting the photos, Koromo. It really does make a difference.

Cabin Review Format
Cabin Number:6053
Cruise Ship:Majesty
Date of Cruise: May/June 2012
Bed Formation: Two singles and one upper bunk
Bath/Shower?: Shower
Adjoining Cabin?: No
Balcony?: No
Comment on the Size of the Cabin: Was smaller than a plus cabin but bigger than a standard. Too small for 3 people.
Comment on any Noise Issues: There was a rattle in the walls and vibration.
Comment on Storage Space: There was just enough for us. There were 6 drawers and the space for the fridge (but no fridge). There was only a 2 door wardrobe with some drawers and the safe on one side of it.
Comment on the Bathroom: The bathroom was adequate.
Any Other Comments?: The furniture was tatty with ill fitting drawers and chunks out of the wood. The cabin door had huge dents in it. This cabin has been abused and needs some TLC. The hairdryer is in the chest of drawers and was not very good. The cabin is ideally suited for the stairs and lifts.
Would You Recommend this Cabin?: No. I would recommend going to a plus cabin on the Majesty.
Link to any Images:
Score out of 10: 6

Hi skioncruises, sorry but they def do!
You must have misunderstood them I think.
Had seen that on here before ( possibly your post , saying they won't give discount on repeat business ) I thought it very odd and I even questioned it with them, they were very shocked anyone there would ever gave told you that .
They confirmed they definitely give discount on each new booking you do with them, it would be daft not to if you don't mind me saying, why would anyone turn away business? ??
Was it a holiday you amended where you expected discount again? If that was the case and they had discounted when originally booked then they could not discount again when a change was made.
Would not want anyone to miss out on getting a good deal by not ringing them for a second booking. :(
As an agent you strive for repeat business and you look after repeat customers.
They do discount on each and every booking although of course you may need to ask for the discount, no one usually offers it, not the full amount anyway . I got a very good discount from them and they have promised the same next time! !! :):)

That's interesting to know, Dreamgirl. Thanks for that :)

Good grief, that cabin is midships and should be well away from any vibration.
I know, Dave, which is why we chose it, but there were times when my bed actually vibrated. At the same time there was a loud rattling in the walls.

Majesty inside deck 6 midships cabin 6053. Very bad vibration and rattling. Cabin carpet grubby and furniture chipped badly. Needs a deep clean.

Hi all, going on our 1st cruise on Thursday. Sailing from Newcastle on Spirit to Baltic. Looking forward to it no end. Wife been reading up on ports of call for the past few months, or so it seems. Had every book out of library at some time or another, she is really very good at this. Ref to putting on weight, does the Spirit not have a gym? of course it does. We have been going to our local baths/gym for the past couple of years and I have burnt off 600 cals per visit in the past. Concentrating on toning now. Looking forward to continuing exercises on board.
Hope you have a wonderful first cruise. We would like to do the Baltics in the future.

Thanks for that, Jim. I had vague recollections of this being discussed before.
Time for some answers, I think.
