  1. JJohnboy - so your cabin should be allocated very very soon now. You will be in good company waiting for your cabin as even the top balconies under a guarantee booking are not allocated until nearer the time. ;)

    Thanks hun. :)

  2. You will have a cabin what's the problem? does it really matter whether you know where it is at this precise time? As long as you can find it when you board you should be a happy bunny.

A weeks cruise to the fjords is a very special experience. Just make sure you are up early to experience the stunning scenery.

    I don't have a problem - I'm just impatient I suppose and I wanted a little winge. Hahahahaha

    :D

  3. Hello all..

With fear of retribution for the following comments but I feel like a 2nd class citizen. Let me explain.

I have cruised many times with P&O albeit weekend cruises and with RCI and NCL as a couple in a balcony cabin - all very nice and dandy.

This year we are doing the Fjords and taking my children with us (I say children, they are aged 17 & 20) and because of 4 of us going it's costing a lot more than usual. We usually fly somewhere for summer holidays but feel a cruise is safer at the moment.

Anyway, because of the cost we have booked the Saver option with inside cabins for all of us. Here's my beef - We leave in under 3 weeks time and we have still not been allocated a cabin nor a check in time. We have had to book car parking and give a time of arrival etc.

Every day I check the Personaliser to see if allocated yet and still nothing.

It's doing my head in - Hehehe.

Oh and don't get me started on the £5.50 charge pppd and whether we remove or not...... (I wont be removing it don't worry).

I know that 'you book cheap you get cheap' but come on P&O tell me where in steerage my hard box to sleep on will be!!

    Rant over :-):)

  4. Hi Fellow CC's

We are on Azura in 3 weeks for the Fjords cruise - So we can plan evening meals etc does anyone know what nights the formal nights usually are?

    I know we have 2.

  5. Hi

On the ones in Europe I have been on you cannot purchase Duty Free Cigs in the shop but can buy single packets at the shops but only when out of port.

I did by 200 in Le Harve (Depressing place) and took them back on ship with no bother.

  6. So I am going to remove the auto tip as we have two cabins for a family of 4. Just hope I don't come back the room one night with a horse's head on the pillow or a carefully placed curly black hair on the bed!!!

  7. Answered my own question I think as found this little nugget.

How about bringing liquor at embarkation? According to P and O Cruises, passengers may bring small amounts of alcohol on board with no amount restriction. However, P&O reserves the right for removing alcohol at gangway should any need arise. The line generally allows reasonable alcohol amounts to be taken for yourself to enjoy in cabin, but taking bottles into lounges or restaurants incurs corkage fees.

  8. Hi fellow cruisers and newbies

I'm on Azura on the 3rd July to the Fjords and have been on Azura and Ventura before. But it was a couple of years ago and cant remember the answer to the following:

How much booze can we take on? We have 2 cabins booked for 4 people. I'm sure it was a bottle of wine or fizzy each?

Although I'm sure that we took a litre of vodka on too?

    Thoughts and experiences?

(I've never been summoned to the naughty room)

    Cheers

    JB

  9. P&O look at your past booking and if you only ever book the cheapest cabins your chances are very low for a upgrade, 1st timers will nearly always get a good upgrade cause they are more likely to book the onboard for the same grade cabin.. Business is business

Makes sense - this is my 4th time on P&O but taking my kids this time so opted for inside saver - we usually book balcony
