  1. We will be on the Carnival Conquest in September and would like to know if they are still serving the old menu or have the New American Feast menu? Hope it is the old menu but will be okay with the new. Not really foodies but just curious. ;)

I'm also saling on the Conquest in Sept. Leaving on the 14th. What about u?

I was hoping to try the new menus this year, but don't think I will get to.

  2. Undecided between BREEZE and CONQUEST. We never been on Carnival. Your opinions greatly welcome. THANK YOU.

OMG! I made the mistake of taking 2 first time cruisers on the Breeze last year. Now.... what do they have to look forward to?!?! I may have ruined future cruises for them. LOL

Seriosuly though.... any cruise is a good cruise! IF u pick the Breeze, be sure to remind yourself to *relax* while onboard. There was so much to see/do/eat that even I was a bit overwhelmed.

And oddly enough... I will be on the Conquest this Sept.

    HAPPY SAILING !!!

  3. Apparently only when they had a lot of unsold tickets

Last month I saw Jennifer Hudson perform on the Ecstasy. Shortly after the muster drill... and while I was enjoying a Blue Margarita on the Serenty deck... they annouced that tickets were sold out. Tickets were $40 for regular seating and $150 for VIP. Thankfully mom and I purchased tickets when we booked our cruise.

Let me know if you have any specific questions.

  4. I think it's a good deal.

When you're paying $2 a bottle for convenience onboard, prepurchasing them for less than $1 each is a savings. Same as the soda. You can order 12 cans for $10.

I plan to purchase a 24 package of water and probably 12 coke zero, 12 diet coke and 12 sprite zero for us on our 14 night pride cruise.

This way we'll be able to bring onboard some more unique non-alcoholic beverages that you can't get onboard (diet raspberry soda, diet mountain dew, etc).

I'd rather pre-buy the soda and water than pay for a soda card (at least this way, I always have a fresh can and not the dregs of someone elses already opened, very warm can of soda).

    Great!

We also bring sodas/juices not typically available onboard. Next week I'm going to try bringing some coffee creamer.

  5. Wow! Obviously they don't expect to see that much with that type of cost. And, in my area, I can get the same water for only $3! I will keep lugging on my own water.

Why do they do this? If they made it more affordable (like they need to do to Bon Voyage Liquor), then I would certainly pay them to not carry it on. I would pay twice as much, but not with the mark up they are doing.

Another reason why living in a port city is so great! My mom always brings a case of water and soda in a rolling bag. Not sure if we would trouble ourselves if we were flying in town for a cruise.

  6. Maybe I am one of the crazy ones, but I would pay it. Yes, the markup is high. However, I would pay for the convenience of having it in my stateroom versus having to worry about flying in, making a taxi stop at a store to purchase it (while the meter runs), and then dragging it all over the embarkation port , on to the ship, and around the ship until I can access my stateroom.

Glad u found this info useful. I am a bit of a water snob... and Nestle is one of the types I like.

  7. FYI ... You can now purchase a full case of Nestle purified water directly from Carnival. The 24 bottle pack that u would normally pay $5 for on land will only cost u $21.50 onboard. OR u can get a 12 pack for $13.:eek::eek:

    Stay thirsty my friends.

  8. FINALLY... doing the single digit dance... :D

And even though I have never sailed Disney, I am dancing to my niece and nephew's (2-year old twins) favorite theme song...

Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggety dog

We're taking off, we're dancing now

Hot dog, leapfrog, and holy cow

Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggety dog

If you don't know it, I PROMISE u it's worth the YouTube or Google search. LoL.

Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggety dog

    It's a brand new day

    Whatcha waiting for?

Get up, stretch out, stomp on the floor

  9. has any one or am I allowed to order room service lobster formal night? I would like to have a nice dinner on balcony. Will room service bring lobster or can I go up to the dining room and order a couple plates to go?

I took a plate to go in the MDR once. My mom wasn't feeling well and ate in the room. It was on formal night, but she doesn't eat lobster. I don't remember what I ordered for her, but probably a pasta dish.

  10. Hey Everyone,

Just wondering, my family is trying to book a 7 day Caribbean cruise for late July, which includes me (26), sister (27), and brother (20). Would the Carnival Caribbean cruises during this time have other people our age? We are thinking either Carnival Sunshine, Carnival Glory, or Norwegian Getaway.

    Any suggestions?

I have only cruised with Carnival... and all of my sailings have been during my 20s. U will enjoy whichever ship u decide on!!! :D

I will actually be enjoying the last day of my 20s on a cruise. I will be on the Carnival Ecstasy in June and will turn 30  the second day we are onboard. Guess I will drink to that. LoL

  11. Forget "allowed," what can you typically get away with?

Like for two, say a case of water and maybe a couple 4-packs of Red Bull or 12-pack of soda?

and do you pack in large carry checked bag or carry on.....I know what the rules say, but what do you do or have gotten away with?

Travelling out of POM.... We always carry on a rolling bag with a case of water and 2 cases of soda. They have never counted them or asked how many ppl we are travelling with. We also bring 2 bottles of wine each in our carry on. No problems there either.
