Is there a way for me to get the car from the garage, and then pick my wife up with the suitcases?
There is an area on the ground level where you can have your wife wait with your luggage. It's where the porters bring the luggage to. When you go to leave the parking garage instead of exiting turn left at the bottom of the ramp. Tell the guy directing traffic you are picking up your luggage and he will point you in the right direction. No need to exit and drive all the way around again.

My opinion about the Bionic Bar is that it is a waste of space........
Couldn't agree more. It's the only thing I don't like about this ship. A Martini bar like they have on the Summit would be a much better use of this space. After the novelty wore off there were very few customers.
We were on the same cruise as you. Abe was great. The whole ship is great. The crew was great. Big improvement in service from Quantum. You could see that the staff was working hard to deliver a memorable experience.
Only 357 days till we sail again, unless we find a good deal to Bermuda :D

Love it! Really looking forward to our next cruise on Anthem.

Hi
I was on the Anthem 1/25/16 cruise (which ended up being the 1/26/16 cruise).
Prior to sailing I booked and paid for Jamie's, Chops, Wonderland, and also booked Izumi.
Once onboard and finding out about the dining package, I was able to upgrade/convert (whatever the proper term is) and I was refunded in OBC the charges I previously paid for the specialty dining and then was charged for the package.
At Izumi it was $30 credit you are given and you pay anything beyond that. At the other restaurants there wasn't a dollar value limit.
It was definitely worth the value of the package and I will look to do it again.

We did the same (same cruise). Once onboard we paid for the package and were refunded the charges as OBC. Worked out nicely and we kept our prefered dining times.

Thanks for the explanation.
Ha! I knew there was a conspiracy......
-
You lost me with the acronyms ISM and IMO. I have no idea what they mean.
Must be some secret code to cover up the conspiracy to cover up the whole thing and whitewash the investigation. (just kidding, never sure how sarcasm will be received on the interwebs)
Thanks for your contributions here we're getting a masters in marine engineering from your posts.

I have no doubt that the captain's actions will be vigorously investigated by the cruise company and its stakeholders. Beside the passengers safety they have a huge financial interest to protect.
-
Too bad there isn't a sticky with all the Anthem dining information for cruisers new to this ship to refer to or be referred to.

I'm all for new industry-wide protocols that increase safety. I just hope they don't go too far. At any given time, there's a possibility of severe weather someplace a ship is scheduled to sail. How much risk is too much? Possible? Probable? A percentage? The industry can't guarantee perfectly flat seas and clear skies, so what will be an acceptable level of tolerance? Would Anthem ever get to leave port in the winter months when violent storms in the Atlantic are frequent?
Weather can change quickly and the sea is a fickle female.;) I clearly remember a hurricane (Rita) that was scheduled to level the city of Houston. Tens of thousands fled in a media-induced frenzy, and were stuck in massive traffic jams that stretched for hundreds of miles north and west. After all that, we got not one drop of rain or hint of a breeze. We did have one heck of a block party with the people who stayed!
At any rate, I think a contributor to sailing decisions (not just in this case) is the reaction of passengers when there's any delay/change/missed port. The comments from many on the delayed and altered "Jonas" sailing were filled with angry diatribe and demands for compensation. I've read CC in amazement when a Cape Liberty sailing has had to head north instead of south because of a hurricane...the cries of not fair and I want to cancel far outnumbered the people who took it in stride. Maybe the cruise lines need to find a way to better educate the passengers about what could happen to their cruise in the case of a weather problem. I know it's in the contract, but that seems to go out the window along with manners when a cruise is affected.
Just my opinion...your mileage may vary.:)
I agree with everything you say but you are being far too rational. :)We were on the post "Jonas" cruise and there was no end to the pissing and moaning about the change in itinerary, compensation, decision to delay the ship returning to port and on and on. (We had a great time anyway)
And the "Weatherman" should be the last group to be criticising someone else's decision.

It is in the cruise lines best interest to have the ship inspected and their actions investigated. That's the best way for them to alleviate everyone's concerns. Although, for some that will never be enough.
Someone must be punished!

Yes, that is the to be expected Port State inspection to see if anything relating to SOLAS, including the hull structure, was damaged. This they have every right to do, and I've always said it would most likely come. Then they will "assist" the Bahamians, who will be lead agency, and who will provide the final report. This will be a report on the company's ISM system, as I've also said would most likely happen, and the USCG is assisting in its SIS status.
Their insurance company might have a slight interest in the condition of the ship and also assess the damage.
And RCCl must have their own risk assessment team.
This will be the most inspected ship in the world before it leaves port.

Marinelink dot com is reporting that the CG will assist the Bahamian authorities with an inspection of Anthem after it arrives in Bayonne.

Do it before. You will miss a good portion of your vacation studying the manual and taking the test if you do it once onboard.
Find a local dive shop do the class work there or online and do the pool dive. You can find more information on certification at the PADI web site. There is also a sub forum here where you can find some additional information on certification and dive shops at the various ports. Good luck.

The dredging of the north channel is proceeding nicely and is ahead of schedule

Don't know if it means anything but there is a hopper dredge tied up at Kings Warf.

Hi,
I am boarding Liberty on 10/22 and have a GS. I was wondering if there is any special line for suite passengers. It says priority boarding but I am not sure what that means. I am just wondering, do I look for a specific check-in line after security?
Thank you
Priority boarding for Celebrity is at the left side of the check in counter. Show your boarding pass to one of the customer service reps and they will point you in the right direction.

Somebody must like this class. The aren't sailing empty.

Today is about the latest you can get in September. I wonder if they started
Considering what the weather ha been in Bermuda lately probably not.
-
Due to environmental considerations they can't start until the end of September. They have done some preliminary work with moving coral to another location.
