  1. For what its worth-

We did start to do the walking tour... didnt feel comfortable & there were tons of cab drivers outside the building where you dock offering tours.. We went back... we went with Ronaldo , paid $50 (we tipped extra though) and had a 3 hour tour. he took us all over Nassau told us so much info and showed us so much of the island not just the tourist attractions and we got out at a beach, queens staircase, fort fincastle & the water tower, he stopped at a local fruit stand and got us all some fresh fruit, and then to atlantis, we got to go inside the casino and walk around , and one of the other couples was asking about fresh conch so he actually stopped at a grocery store & got the guy some! there were 4 couples total & he went at our pace. He was amazing!! We have a stop in Nassau again this year & hopefully hes still there & ill see if he'll let me snap a pic of him so you will know who to go to for a tour!

  2. yes yes yes!!! we had an ocean suite on our last cruise and loooveed it. im not sure how we're going to be able to go back to a normal balcony after that lol :D I have pictures if youd like to see them! (it was on the victory but an ocean suite should be the same-ish from ship to ship)

  3. I think you will be happy with your choice. I read all the time where people prefer inside cabins to save money and they are never in their cabin anyway. Yes, it does save money and there's a reason they don't stay in the cabin much, it's like being in a cave. The last time we had an inside cabin, my husband wanted to take a sledgehammer to the wall and knock a hole out.

We save all year to go on vacation, we're not about to scrimp on the cabin (although we've never splurged for a suite). That little piece of real estate is one of our favorite things about a cruise. We started cruising in 1998 and gradually converted to "balcony snobs". Now we won't go if we can't afford a balcony.

sounds exactly like my hubby..we could cruise again in feb if hed settle for an interior or even an ocean view.. but hes a balcony snob.

however we love the balcony, but we dont have anything to compare it to

  4. Yes very quiet. I just recieved a call from Carnival's upgrade program yesterday 4 days to sailing and they offered me an AFT extended balcony cabin for $400.00 on the freedom this week. I took it with no Questions. So I will make sure to take pictures I got cabin 7447..

    Cant wait for your pics!

Then we were off to dinner a little anxious to meet our table mates...we got put at a 2 top table which would have been fine except that there were 3 2 tops VERY close together so it was like having table mates and we didn't like them the guy showed up WASTED every night & was EXTREMELY annoying and creepy and kept getting inches away from everyones face. ughh..

We were in the Atlantic (pacific was for your time dining)

  6. Just an FYI, if the price is posted on the site, and the price on the Hyatt site is more, you can call Hyatt and they will match the price being offered by a discounter. That way, you know you have the room.

I tried this...after being on hold for about 10 minutes she said they couldnt match that price because it wasnt "confirmed"

However I requested the rate over a week ago and JUST now got an email back with confirmation they apologized for the delay ..system problems....Ive already booked another hotel with another fantastic price.. now i have to decide between the 2...

  7. So I know this review is old, but I've been searching reviews of the Freedom with pictures and ran across it. I've been trying to convince my boyfriend to go on a cruise for more than 10 years and it's finally happening! We will be on the Freedom in September and this will be a first cruise for both of us. He is still not interested, but I pulled the "I went to the Boundary Waters with you, so you can go on a cruise with me" card :D. (this was a canoe/camping trip in northern Minnesota where we had to canoe across one lake, carry all of our gear and canoe across the portage to the next lake, and so on. No running water, so we didn't shower and drank lake water. FOR SIX DAYS!). Yep, a cruise sounds much better to me! :)

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your review and looking at all of the pictures. We won't be on your same itinerary, but will be on the Freedom and we will be in the aft cabin directly under yours. Looking at your picture, it won't be the bigger balcony, but that's ok. Thank you for all of the tips you have included, also. As a first timer, I really don't know anything. So it's very helpful when people post tips and lots of information about the ship like you did.

    Thanks again!

Ill be getting on the day youre getting off

& thanks to OP . great review, cant wait for antigua!!
