We are the same as you Linda. We still enjoy our holiday as much as the next person, just don't spend more than we need to.
This means we can get more cruises in. We look for the bargain ones mostly, the next one was less than £800 each for a fortnight.

It's personal choice, but we always go lower decks midships. it's more stable there.
I think Dream drinks menu is the same as the Celebration and Spirit is the same as Majesty but I may be wrong! It's because Spirit and Majesty are run by Louis.
That's correct Sheila. -
It's not officially Platinum until sometime next year, but over the course of this year they have been steadily replacing the old TV's with flat screens and putting kettles in.
Most cabins will probably have these by now.
When they changed the Dream and Celebration to Platinum there wasn't much changed other than the tv's and kettles in cabins and some new carpets and upholstery. Some of the Celebration cabins were updated with new furniture and some reconfigured from L shape to side by side beds.
Most of us on here thought it was a damp squib at the time, as so much was promised and not a lot changed.

Thought I had uploaded them earlier in the year, just couldn't find the post before. These are current.

Aside from the fuel regs issue, Thomson have planes and Hotel beds to fill.
I think their strategy is to grow the cruise and stay market, they have a good infrastructure already in place to do this. Much better than any other cruise line.

This old thread has a list at the bottom.
It's old but if you add 20p onto everything you won't be far off the prices.

We are on the fortnight after you Gill, I am guessing that we will be going to Larnaca, instead of Beirut.
Been looking at the map to see where they might send you, Crete and the other Islands are too far out from Alanya, you might go to Paphos, which would be nice.
Does anyone know if Thomson have ever used Paphos? Haphag Lloyd and Amazara are using it in October, so it will take biggish Ships.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.
Can't advise you much about cruising with your son, but you can be sure that the staff will make a fuss of him, they love having little ones around.
There is no soft drinks package, but the pop isn't too dear, £1.80 for a can or £1.10 for a glass, the orange juice dispenser used at breakfast just outside the cafe royale is usually left on until 11am. Water, tea and coffee are available for free in the buffets all day and night.
You can also take as much drink (alcohol or otherwise) as you want onto the ship for use in your cabin, the tap water is drinkable but I would recommend bottled for baby.
Those little concentrated squeezy bottles of squash are good to take with you if you like squash.
It might be worth asking your Doctor about something to take in case he suffers from seasickness, he may be a great little sailor but you never know...

The only news I have for you is from a FB friend who was on a few weeks ago. Conrad might be back on for the next contract if he passes the medical.
-
Yes definitely.
Hopefully someone from Thomson will pick this up and run with it.
Whilst a few of Frazer's answers were quite non-committal, there was still a lot of info we gleaned from the session.
Helen may also be a bit more forthcoming.

Great write-up Dronnygirl. Thanks.
For those going this year the drop off point in Civi has changed, they drop you off near the fire station (unless they have changed it back recently) and that's an extra 20-30 mins walk.
We actually walked it back along the quayside as it was quicker than going to the new shuttle pick up point and waiting for the bus.

Look what we won for the review of the Dream. :D
Thanks Cruise Critic.

You might be able to work it out from the pictures of the side with a deck plan.
Smoggy, don't forget you can take your own drink onboard for consumption in your cabin, and if you are on a cruise that has at least one port that is outside the EU they open the duty free shop onboard which is very well priced.

That's a good deal Pressy. (quote button not working....)
It's about £7 for a bacon butty and a brew in the normal cafe. Talk about having a captive audience.

We used to get the Servisair one at Manchester for free, was Ok for free but I wouldn't pay for it.
They used to have a toaster in the mornings, it was great but they got rid of it because of elf & safety, cereals and dried up croissants last time we went in.
Not worth it unless you are going for a drinking session before you fly, and it's free drinks on the plane from November anyway.

Spirit 22nd Oct for 2 weeks.

I took Kruzeekas recommendation to visit Villa Ephrussi when in Villefranche, it was really nice, just put this video up this weekend:
The Soller train trip is also highly recommended:

There are always the best cruise guides around...

if you have a smartphone or tablet the Trip advisor app for Barcelona is excellent.
Palamos is nice to have as a last day, a lovely long beach and prom to walk along.

Have a great time on the dream.
I know you will.
Give our love and hugs to Brandi and Hazel.

I see what you mean Linda...
I read that they were just on for 1 week not 2. DOH....
None of us are perfect :)
It's nice to know that there are sometimes offers to stay on, thanks Jules & HT.
-
Same for us, Dream is a better ship for all the same reasons.
More stable and it doesn't have that slight judder that the Celebration has. The plus cabins are very big, normal insides are a good size too.
-
Not sure what you mean?
Do you want to stay on the Ship for another week?
If so I would contact Thomson now and ask if you can change the booking to a 2 week cruise, they may charge you an admin fee, but it's probably cheaper than 2 separate cruises.
If you leave it until you are onboard they may not have any cabins left, they may not even be able to let you stay on for another week, I have never heard of anyone stopping on for an extra week.
Others may have??
Am I a tightwad or am I careful with money?
