  1. LNG is like a car crash at 100 mph but your seatbelt is made of bamboo, at least. Greenwashing at its best / worst.

I was just wondering if I will need conditioner and body lotion when the shower water is oily, anyway. How are they going to flush Diesel out of miles and miles of drinking water pipes within a few days? Hope that shoot is gone til October.

This mess made me click the Celebrity website again.

I was so looking forward to following you along on the Inaugural cruise. So disappointing! The really awful thing is the way that no one could move over to any other cruises because they were sold out. Super disappointing. Anyway, I can’t wait until some information starts coming out. I can’t believe how little is on social media. Odd, don’t you think?

As a used-to-be avid Celebrity guest, I feel Princess is super underperforming in marketing the new ship class. What an ado was made about Edge class.

What I see from Princess, is giving me "Carnival spits out a new ship class for their medium luxury brand, check it out or leave it be" vibes. And maybe that is what´s actually going on inside of Princess / Carnival. They do not appear to be super crazy mad happy to present a new ship class. Like "people will buy it anyway".

  3. Hi fellow cruisers.

My cruise in October 2024 from FLL will be part of a long trip through several states. By its starting date, I will have traveled CA and HI. You can imagine that, on a Princess cruise, I do not want to dress and look like Tom Hanks in Cast Away.

I could use one suitcase for the CA and HI part and another one, with better clothing, for the cruise. The second one should rather not have been carried around for weeks when I board, so I was thinking I could just courier / FedEx it to my FLL hotel before the cruise and pick it up there.

Has anyone done this before? Does anyone know hotels accepting this?

Any constructive input would be appreciated, thank you.

It’s not really a theme park from what I can tell. It seems more like a glorified sports deck.

Yeah, I was just trying to find any category for "that"...

Looking very much forward to constructive reviews from customers soon. I could still swap this for a week Hawaii 🤓

Am I the only one who thinks it looks ugly and ungainly?  I'm sure it's great inside, and I realize all cruise ships today are boxy, but I miss the days when cruise ships looked like ... ships.

If I was under 50, I'd even say ship is ugly af. Thank God I am 52 and "not amused".

Still looks two universes better than Icon...

  6. For the time being, I start to get more interested in all the "which extras to book when for whom and what" and that kind of stuff. I got 9 months to wait, but as a Princess first timer, I got some FOMO going on, tbh 😄

We really can't know what is going on and whether it will be on time.  But the complete silence from Princess (and their marketing department) on rolling out this brand new ship design is utterly baffling.  And leading to all this worry.

Silence is or can be a marketing instrument.

It´s like the LMR (last moment resistance) phenomenon in dating - the longer one party says no (even though she secretly wants the same thing), the more excited the interested party becomes and loses his mind more and more to get into the other person´s panties - excuse me, to get into the other party´s stateroom. At about any price.

I think this is the first time we have seen the curvature of those balconies on the Spheres - so weird! I think they are deeper at the bottom but not sure how they will be separated

Wow, that´s my balcony next October, thanks.

Am I even interested in the itinerary that I booked?

  9. I am a cruise line's nightmare. All extras I book are shore excursions and alcohol free beverage packages. All other spare money goes into a nice stateroom category. I guess I will be banned one day 😉

However,  really looking forward to all your reviews of extra fun investments.

I'm (still) confused about the cabana cabins. I thought that the balconies on the cabana decks were all open to each other so no real privacy. This photo appears to have the metal dividers on the balcony go all the way to the railing as on all other Princess balconies.

The Cabana cabins (at least the one I booked on deck 12) in my understanding are nothing different from the balcony cabins except the Cabana exisiting between the balcony and the cabin space. So, I was surely expecting dividers.

  11. I will only go on 19 Oct 2024, hope this thread stays alive til then.

And I really hope someone will set up a list for simple minds like me to explain what my cabin category is allowed to do where in which part of the ship. For now, that sounds far more complicated than on Celebrity. But that might only be because I have never been on Princess before.

  12. Upscale families exist, and they do not all go on the 5 star brands. Actually that eventuality could be a smart move. Who else focuses on "upscale families"? Celebrity? Not too much, I would say.

It will be my first Princess cruise next year. As Celebrity just recently won me back, I am really curious what Sun Princess will be like compared to Celebrity Edge.

Go look at the P&O Iona video of Cabana suites.  The Sun is supposed to be a duplicate for those cabins.

Wow, Conservatory Mini-suite that is on Iona.

Sweet. I'll surely hang out in that Cabana part for quite some hours.

  14. Also got a deck 11 cabana in the Sphere. Believe those shall be amazing. Really cannot wait to see animations or photos.

Not sure about the noise level though. As far as I know there will be loud performances in the Sphere up to deck 8.

It's all an experiment to leave Celebrity. We will see how it will go.

Pretty reasoned review, but one caveat for us:

At the prices we have our next 4 =X= sailings booked for, 80% of what we expect is not the best scenario, but doable.

At the prices they are charging currently, 80% of what we expect is a show stopper.  A hard stop.

As I mentioned, I have to admit that I really am a demanding beast, and I know it. I started cruising on Equinox in 2012 with food and service never experienced before or after, not on land and not on sea. That was a cruise with 10 nights Carribean on deck 9 with a balcony cabin including solo surcharge in the high season for 1400 $...

Same cruise on Edge would cost me somewhere between 3500-4000 $ today. That is why I really really want to get the most bang out of my buck.

Others are less demanding and happy with less. If it works for them, it's fine for them.
