Not if you have already booked a cruise at the higher cost.

Also, I am not convinced about the US$ v GBP argument, exchange rates fluctuate all the time.

I agree, if it was due to currency fluctuations then the price would be up/down everyday.
In the UK it is a reduction in the price from £35 to £30/day.

We booked a 29day cruise last week at £35/day.
I have just emailed Princess Uk and will see what they say, could be a £145 saving or at today’s Currency Fluctuation $201 🤔

  2. Just got off the Diamond in Japan a couple of weeks ago, kettles were in the Stateroom so it’s nothing to do with the Sapphire being in Southampton. They are not large kettles just enough for 2 mugs, sited by the telephone. Great idea.

  3. Yes I have.

You are quite welcome to think that it is ‘not crucial’

Myself, partner and friends are quite happy to of answered the question.

My advice would still be to other cruisers is to check, it only takes a couple of minutes.

  4. This is not a bluff.

I have updated, so has my partner and also a few friends that I have spoken too today.

On my Profile Information it clearly asks the question ‘Would you like to remain a member of the Princess Cruises Captain Circle loyalty program: Yes or No.

It also gives a date to reply by 1st August 2018.

I would advise any UK cruiser to check their account.

  5. This is definitely no scam.

I received a letter in the post yesterday from Princess Southampton saying that if I wanted to continue to be a member of The Princess Cruises Captain Circle, I needed to update my preferences.

I have just done that through My Princess Profile.

It also said that 'If there other members in your household who would like to remain members, they should do it as well'

My partner has not received any contact from Princess, so not sure if they are contacting everyone?

  6. I was checking our booking last night to see if I could print documents for our upcoming cruise only to find that passenger details had changed.

I then checked another future booking, only to find out that it shows a different ship and dates of travel despite my confirmation showing the correct details!

So you can imagine, telephone calls to Customer Service today!!!!

Their website is a nightmare, even their own people admit that.

The upcoming cruise on 11th November will be our first, at the moment it’s not installing the confidence that everything will be ok!

So the OP is right, always keep checking your booking!

  7. Hi Duffysmom will try again, these are the views from E318 which is similar to E322.

E324 has the mechanism that lowers the lifeboat as you can see on the far left.

I will also add that these are the large lifeboats that carry around 290 passengers, not the ones that are used for tenders.

The one thing that you do get with these cabins is the extra room with a settee in it.

I do hope that this helps finally!:)

  8. Hi Duffysmom, we were on the Royal in May this year, we had E322 and ourfriends had E324.

Our view was looking straight over the top of a lifeboat, where our friends had a partial view of the mechanism/lifeboat.

We were also on the Royal last year and we had E318

Sorry Duffysmom for some reason the photos have not uploaded, will try again later.

  11. Rules change on June 30th 2017.

OP is travelling in 2018 and will need a visa which can be obtained on line.

Don't know why your on board account was charged $3 on your recent visit as, according to official UK Government advice, for travel up until June 2017, UK citizens with a full UK ( not UK overseas) passport, do not require a visa for tourist and/or business trips of up to 30 days.

Well it was, as was all UK passengers on board, probably an admin charge, who knows!

The advice will probably be updated as June gets closer.

As I said in my previous post, we have just got back from being on the Diamond to Vietnam,12th/13th February 2017, so this is up to date information.

We should of had 2 stops in Vietnam, Nha Trang and Phu My the port for Ho Chi Minh City, however, Nha Trang was cancelled due to rough seas, so we had a 2 day stay in Phu My, I have just checked our On Board Account details and we were charged a total of $3.

Probably like you we done a lot of research before we left the UK regarding visas for South East Asia and found a lot of conflicting information on the web, so I checked with Princess at Southampton and they told me 'that I didn't have to do anything as Princess would sort it on board', and they did.

We should of also gone to Sihanoukville (Cambodia) and was told that the visa fee was $55 but that this would also be added to our on board account, however we didn't go there either due to rough seas again, so nothing was added, but if we had of gone Princess would of dealt with it.

    I hope that this helps.

  13. All the posts before yours were from 2014. The rules have changed.

If you have non-refundable OBC (& all of it is non-refundable except for veteran's OBC), the only way to get it is to use the casino and a cash out after you've played a little bit.

If you have leftover refundable, you can get cash at the passenger services desk (up to $20 or $25, can't remember which). Any amount over that will be mailed in a check, usually within 4-6 weeks.

    It's $25 as of 2 weeks ago [emoji106]

  15. There is no Vines bar on the Diamond, where it used to be is now the Captain's Circle, library, Internet and Future Cruise Sales.

The ship was revamped for the Japanese market and has a Sushi Restaurant where the Crown Grill was next to Sabatinis. They have a Stirling Steakhouse as part of the Horizon grill.

  16. Thank you for your replies so far.

If I wanted to take either of the upgrades offered, I would be £1 better off than if I was booking a new cruise, so don't see what the incentive is.

After 20 cruises with Princess this is the first time I have had this type of offer.

  17. Just received an Upgrade Offer for our Transatlantic on the Royal October 2017:

We hope that you are looking forward to your 2017 Princess Cruises Holiday, and as a thank you for booking your Princess Cruises holiday early, we would like to offer you the chance to upgrade your cabin at a discounted rate. This will not affect any of the additional benefits you secured when booking your holiday, so please call the team at Princess Cruises on 0843 3740014 who will arrange any of the upgrade options below for you:

Upgrade from your balcony cabin to a mini suite for 399 GBP per person! Upgrade from your balcony cabin to a full suite for 2,049 GBP per person!

We have had free upgrades before but never an email labelled 'UpsellOffer' which seems to be what other countries get.

Has anyone from the UK experienced this before or this a new option now appearing in the UK?

  18. We just joined MSC Voyagers Loyalty Club with their status match. We are Elite on Princess, it was very easy to do, just fill in the online form and scan your existing cruise status card or equivalent loyalty status proof.

We sent it off one day the next we received the matched top black card level membership cards.

We have booked an MSC cruise and looking forward to it.
