Believe it or not i was disappointed my first cruise... It was 2013 on the Breeze and i was sick most of the cruise and the couple we went with was arguing most of the trip. It was a disaster. I didn't know if i ever wanted to cruise again. My husband and I did a do over cruise 2 years later on the Independence of the seas 2015 and got HOOKED now 2018 we'll be going on our 4th cruise on the Vista

I've never had a hard time getting a drink but I always give a little extra in cash per drink... it helps for better service.

Yes the the past 2 cruises I got very sick, I think it was from having allergies then flying and it turned into sinus infections. It was awful. I'm going to be careful to take my allergy medicine this next time around

First cruise we ever took was a Balcony, LOVED IT! last two cruise's we took we did OV on one, i didn't enjoy it. Then we did a Double inside cabin and we'll never do that again. This next cruise is a Balcony and thats what we'll get from here on out.

We did the Southern last year. Want to do the Eastern next year. La Romana is kind of the weak link. But we want to go back to Aruba.
La Romana looks like we are going to spend some $ on a good excursion to get much out of that day. I was excited about going to the DR until i did my research on that port.

Southern. Eastern is easily done from Miami on any number of ships. It's nice to have a Southern route that doesn't originate in San Juan. We just did Southern in January, and while we we've done both, San Juan and St. Kitts are not favorites. Love St. Maarten, but also loved Curacao and Aruba. It's really a horse a piece so because it's a lot more difficult to find a decent southern from Miami....It go with that!
I've done the Eastern route before and your right about it easily done from Miami. Thats one of the reasons i booked the Southern route and its on a newer bigger ship. La Romana sounds like you have to spend some $ on a good excursion to get much out of the day, Aruba & Curacao look lovely.

I'm booked for the Vista for the southern itinerary for next year ,but now I'm thinking of changing to the eastern itinerary. because port times are a little longer. If you had to pick between Eastern or Southern routes which one would you pick?

We bring usually $1500 and at least $200 of that in ones and fives.

Did it last week on the freedom, 20 min it took us. I'm sure every cruise is different though.
-
We did self disembark last week on the Freedom because we had early flight's it was great! A lot of other people did it also and there was a line but it moved very quickly and smooth. We got through customs in 20 min.
-
Just got off the Freedom last week they had a guy in the windjammer on the last sea day cutting them... I was so excited to try because of all the hype. It was kind of a FLOP for me the roast beef was very dry. The Bread was very good. Maybe it's better on the other ships it's usually served on.
-
I just got off the freedom this past Sunday we did Western itinerary but we had The Quest on the last sea day of the cruise at 10:45 pm hope that helps😬
-
Just got off the Freedom today we had very strong winds last night we went to our cabin early because the movement was getting to me. I can tell you our first sea day was pretty rocky and so was our last but everything else was smooth sailing almost like glass. Have a great trip!😀

Awesome Review!! Thank you for taking the time to share your amazing trip and experiences with us.😀 And I must say Jelly is pretty darn cute! This really helped me choose between Royal palms or Calico jacks,I'm going with Royal Palm, the beach looks beautiful. Thank you!

5 days!!! excitement overload!!

Yep, you missed it. :D
Welp I guess I did😁... I think I was so excited about being on a new cruiseline it was a lot to take in all at once😜

Ooof. They will clean out your onboard account if you let them buy the snacks in the store. I hope you will re-think this. ;)
Right? Exactly. Probably not a popular opinion, and no, I'm not trying to be a drag about it, but imagine if a majority of the passengers did this - grabbing boxes of cereal and bags of chips to take into port... I mean, yeah the supply would be cut short in no time!
OP, I strongly suggest you bring some pre-packaged snacks in your luggage. We do all the time and it has saved us many times over. :)
.
Both of my kids are are old enough to know better 19 & almost 21. They both have saved money for their own spending and have given it to me they can budget fairly well, and probably won't go crazy eating junk like younger kids given a free for all with a sail and sign card.😀 I was just more concend if they wanted a occasional late night snack.
-
I have only sailed on the Independence of the sea as far a Royal ships go, I don't remember the Café Promenade on that ship. Is that something different on the Freedom?? Or did I just miss it on the Independence ?😬

We love to eat, and at home snacks like this are great. I can't figure out on a cruise why on earth would you need these options with all the available food.
I personally don't need any of the chips and stuff I have been on a few cruises and have never bought anything In the way of snacks myself, but my Kids that are in their late teens like to have chips and things especially late at night if many of the areas to get food might be closed.
-
That stuff is really pricey on the ship, so still might be worth packing a little something if you have the space and weight available in your luggage.
We always pack a can of cashews and some kind of chocolate sweet for late night munching.:p
OK good to know!! 😀 You guys are great so helpful!!

Vista - Did I make a mistake?
in Carnival Cruise Lines

I had the same thought when I booked our Cruise on the Vista 3 weeks ago for 2018. I've decided I'm going into it with a positive open mind because every ship I've ever sailed has had bad reviews. I always get myself worried when I read negative reviews,I always end up haveing a great time! It's all what you make it.
