  1. That's what I thought too from reading on these boards. Was told I could put it on my credit card but could not use my OBC. I argued a bit with them but they were firm about it. Perhaps you can use OBR credit for tips as that goes back to your card anyway but not OBN? Would like to hear from anyone who has been able to use it for tips recently.

To make sure we are clear - I am talking about using OBC for EXTRA tips, not for the regular tips that are included as a perk.

I'm talking regular tips. I chose the OBC (over pre-paid tips) because it was more than the tips, leaving my mom and I another $45 each in OBC after paying tips.

  2. We asked and were specifically told non-refundable OBC cannot be used for tips. I thought I had read on these boards that it could be. They refused to do it (this was on Equinox)

It better be. I checked here before selecting it as one of my perks when booking. Everyone on here has said they could use their OBC for tips. This is the first I have heard it can't be done.

  3. It sucks when things change. Celebrity seems like they offer a lot more when they cancel a cruise. I switched to Celebrity from NCL when they cancelled our cruise. We were offered two options, one which they knew wasn't available (Pearl was chartered). The other was their newest ship and cost more than double in price and they offered no price breaks nor would they transfer any of the perks I had on the other ship they cancelled (same itinerary just one day later). Not only that they didn't have any oceanview staterooms so I would have paid more than double to go down to an inside on a larger ship. No deal, I jumped ship and found Celebrity.

I hope Celebrity will work with you to find a comparable cruise.

  4. This list is different from the lists I have seen. Bailey's wasn't on the Classic Package and Smoothies weren't listed on either of the Classic or Premium Packages. Smoothies were only listed on the Premium Non-Alcoholic Drink Package.

Where was the photo taken from? Which ship since someone mentioned that it seems to change upon which ship you are on.

  5. Rsquirrel: just for comparison sake, we booked our first GTY on January 17, for an October 19 cruise (only GTYs were being offered in our desired category) and I noticed a few days ago that the cabin had been assigned.

    Tom & Judy

Still nothing for me. I check at least once a week. Booked Oceanview and they have lots available.

  6. Sorry, what does 'upcharge' mean? I'm guessing that it is an American expression...

Because he/she had the premium drink package they weren't charged the difference in price from a cheaper wine to one that was more expensive (and not covered by the classic drink package).

Upcharge is the difference in the price of the wine. As in would have to pay extra for the more expensive wine.

  7. They also have allergy alert dogs. I looked into it after my last trip in August to WDW. It will forever be known as the worst vacation ever, thanks to people who think they are allowed to smoke wherever they please.

Unfortunately for me they take you to the allergen. I'm allergic to smoke and get asthma attacks if I breathe in smoke. It's also very expensive to get an allergy alert dog.

  8. I guess it's time for me to find a new TA. I did have one that I liked a lot as she got me exactly what I wanted years ago when I was taking my niece to Disneyland.

Last year she moved up in the company and isn't working with clients. So I switched to one of the other agents at the same company.

As far as I know this fairly large TA company in Canada and possibly the US isn't giving me anything. I think on Disney I maybe got a $25 OBC. I guess I should be shopping around now as I hope to find a good cruise deal when I'm on my cruise in September.

  9. Last month NCL cancelled our cruise. They didn't offer us anything, $25 credit on another cruise I think. It was ridiculous. It would have been our first time on NCL but I switched over to Celebrity to do a cruise that was similar to what I booked with NCL. Celebrity seems to be more fair when they cancel a cruise.

  10. I found a few drink menus here, not sure how recent they are - http://www.cruisewithgambee.com/celebrity-drink-lists/

Found a menu for AquaSpa Cafe and the Smoothies are $5.50. https://www.cruisecritic.com/photos/ships/celebrity-constellation-272/aquaspa-cafe-203278/aquaspa-cafe--v10415737/

Found another list for all the drink packages and Smoothies weren't on any of them. It seems to be the one thing that keeps changing.

  11. I just did a search for "smoothies". Lots of threads concerning smoothies. You may find your answer in one of the many threads. Unless you've been there done that.

I sure have. I have read everything. I'm trying to decide if I want to downgrade to the Premium Non Alcoholic Package from the Classic. I mostly drink soda water, fancy coffees and would enjoy a few smoothies. I don't normally drink any alcohol but if I stick with the Classic I might try a few drinks over the 7 night cruise.
