We will be visiting Corsica on June 10 from Celebrity Ascent. We are 6 women who would like to do a 3 or 4 hour boat tour. Most of the popular ones are sold out. So I am wondering if someone who has been to Ajaccio could tell us if there are other tours that are offered at the port that do not advertise with the big web sites. Nave-Va was one but they are posting only French speaking. Will not work for us. Again any advice would be appreciated. Our times are 8:00 to 6:00

We are 6 on Celebrity Acsent. June 8 to 18th. We would like to find a private transport from Port to Taormina . No tour just a pickup and return after a few hours. Excursions are very pricy and since we are 6 a van split 6 ways is more efficient. Most on Viator are also pricy and link you with a tour. I have been there and can do my own tour!!! We could split up and do a taxi 3 and 3 but not sure how reliable they are. Help!!

Thanks for all the feedback. We decided to book our own transfer and go directly to the Sagrada/ our driver will wail for us with our bags . We reserved a time for entry and expect to do a hour an 1/2. It will be after a long flight but its seems like the only way it will work. Transfer for 6 turns out to be very reasonable too.

We are arriving for the June 8th cruise on the Acsent. Barcelona to Rome. We are 6 arriving at 9:00am. I understand Celebrity will pick us up at the airport and take us to the cruise terminal. Check in starts at 11:30 . We want to go into town to see the La Sagrada. Will we be able to go to terminal leave our bags and take a taxi or the shuttle bus to the town center. We would need 2 hours total to go and get back I spoke to a rep at cel. But he was not clear on exactly what the process was. Any help would be greatly appreciated

6 old ladies will be on Riv Barcelona to Rome June 9 to 18. Not sure what to pack. Very dressy, casual chic, anything goes??? Like I said we are seniors (young at heart) so high heels and sparkles are not happening. Since we stop at some very ritzy places I don’t think we will be doing much shopping. If you have done this itinerary I would appreciate some advice on what to do on shore. We generally don’t book with the cruise line but try and find locals that could take us away from the crowds. Also can we make reservations before the cruise for the restaurants. Any advise would be greatly appreciated

My daughter is chief science officer on Hurtagruten. It is a no nonsense ship. Lots of science related information and talks. She is on the Admundson which is one of their newer ships, completely electric powered. They are very strict about bringing any florigen matter onto the land and are a committed company . She has worked at Palmer Station (the US Station) for 2 years so is very well versed on any topics there. There are not shows, no casinos and no dress up nights. I would definitely check them out.
