  1. Been talking to the celebrity people thru Facebook for over 8 weeks as the points in my account are wrong, they have agreed that is so and will adjust, but so far nothing, I have even sent them a screenshot to prove nothing has been adjusted. Given up now, is useless and a waste of time.

Agree…jetblue’s post left many of us concerned. Firstly the deck 3 cabin, then the lack of support and communication. Many guests have deliberately booked balcony rooms or above (even if they are usually happy with OV or inside cabins) simply to ensure that in the scenario of getting covid on board they would at least be able to get some fresh air. Seems very wrong to me.

I do wonder if many of those who are anti mask simply do not realise how unrestrictive the rules are? We never found wearing one moving inside the ship an issue. It is air conditioned so you don’t feel overheated. Once you sit at a restaurant or bar you can take it off. Outside you don’t need to wear it although we did when walkways were more busy…

If numbers getting covid on board continue to rise and if Celebrity make no effort to control them I can see many people cancelling/rescheduling cruises over the next few months. Many who had booked the Baltic cruises with St. Petersburg as the highlight are now on a cruise which they see as less desirable (although they fully understand the reasons) and could decide the cost and risk factors make it simply ‘not worth it’. As on these cruises the weather can range from glorious to horrendous the thought on being kept inside, due to bad weather, with a full passenger count and high covid numbers makes it even less desirable.

We are fortunate that our next cruise isn’t until October so we have some monitoring time….

Well said !! that's why I have cancelled our May sailing on Silhouette .

    Hi Jim,

You kindly confirmed Ms Perloff's email address and in answer to my message I had a phone call from Zoe (don't know if she is your contact in that office) yesterday evening who confirmed the following:

    1) it is Celebrity's policy across the fleet that all guests who test positive for Covid will be isolated on Deck 3 as it's the nearest deck to the Medical Facilities.

    2) Giving out numbers like less than 1% or more than 1% is pointless. They should be giving accurate figures in a consistent way across the whole fleet. She will contact the department concerned so it will be interesting to see if anything changes.

Enjoy the rest of your trip and by the way we have a Transporter Bridge in the north of England not guiet as spectacular a structure as the one in Bilbao but the same principle. Geoff.

I also contacted that office! agree that 1% means nothing Also, why are masks required in the terminal but only by staff on board? I am not at all happy about covid on board, so I have cancelled our May 7th sailing, not worth my risk and health!

We have set sail.  Oops I mean turned on the pods and starting our long 98 mile journey to Vigo.

Captain George came on and said “some of your fellow passengers have tested positive and are either asymptomatic or have mild symptoms”.   No number given.

Doesn't say much for tests before sailing !!

  5. Last September on Silhouette, it was our first time cruising with me in a wheelchair ,going down to dinner one evening in the lift (elevator ) my wife suddenly realised she had forgotten her covid mask, left me outside deck 4 lift , went back to the cabin on 10th deck for the mask, completely  forgetting where she left me, wandered around ship asking people if they had seen an angry man in a wheelchair !! she found me 20 minutes later. Even I had to laugh !!.

I did this whilst temporarily in a wheelchair and orthopaedic boot. It was wonderful as we boarded to have our butler and room attendant greet us with an array of stools and offers to help us any way they could.

Hats off also to the Solarium staff who knew how much I wanted on a daily basis to slip out of my boot and be lowered into the Solarium pool. Every day they they lowered me into the pool and then one of them was always available to get me out...Discreet and supportive...Exactly what one wants...

If you struggle with anything on board just let the staff know, they are all about finding solutions. We are just off Silhouette, fortunately this time I just needed a stick. Touching and reassuring that on both boarding and disembarking more than one member of staff offered wheelchair assistance if I needed it.

Hope you have a fantastic cruise!

    Thanks for that info !!.

Yes, we used it to get back to deck7 from MDR on our recent Staycation on Silhouette.

There are stickers on each corner of the floor, indicating where passengers should stand, but we shared a lift with someone in a wheelchair, 2 of us + wheelchair. The lifts were not busy.

    Thank you.

S and E Class have forward and mid-ship elevator banks.  The mid ship elevators stop right by the dining rooms.  M Class ship have 3  banks forward, mid and aft.  The aft elevators will go nearest the dining room,

Thanks, first time on board in a wheelchair.
