Question: In Cabo, if there is not a sign with a "set fee" listed (such as $1 USD which seems unlikely since locals won't be carrying that currency) what would be an acceptable amount in Pesos?
I'm not "pot stirring" but would like to know what frequent travelers have to say.
Actually, you can use US dollars all over Mexico, especially at a port such as Cabo. But to answer your question, when I was there, they were asking for $1 or 18 pesos.

In Russia, I actually had to pay to use the toilet like that! Luckily my friend that traveled to Russia before me, advised me to carry my own toilet paper. Best travel advice I've ever gotten! (and I now carry toilet paper with me whenever I travel.)
At least the one in Cabo is very clean (and air conditioned!)...even cleaner than some of the restaurant restooms. Worth the $1 to have a clean, cool restroom!

Was on the Rascal Flatts Concert cruise and the gift shop sold Rascal Flatts T-Shirts (bought one). But on only the day of the concert (if I recall correctly). So if you want a shirt, check out the gift shop the day of the concert. HOwever, it was not specific to the concert. It was a general Rascal Flatts shirt.

I'm on the Miracle right now until Saturday (4/9). Send me a picture of what you want and I will see if they have it. Mszkitty@aol.com.

I was just wondering what a ( solo supplement ) is?
I thought you just had to pay the same price as if 2 were sailing.
What am I missing?
Lets break it down this way...
Say there are two passengers in a cabin and lets say each person pays:
Passenger 1
$ 400 cruise fare
+ 100 taxes
$ 500 total for passenger 1
Passenger 2
$ 400 cruise fare
+ 100 taxes
$ 500 total for passenger 2
That's:
$500 per passenger
X 2 passengers
$1,000 cabin total
Now if one passenger cancels, the single person in the cabin will pay:
$800 cruise fare (which is considered the "solo supplement" = double the cruise rate of one passenger)
+100 taxes (taxes are only paid on guest that actually sails)
$900 cabin total for single person.
Basically, if one person cancels, the other pays the same cruise fare as if two people are sailing, but taxes on only one person.
BTW...if someone is a "no-show", the credit card used to pay for the cruise will be refunded the taxes of the guest that didn't show up.

Something is definitely not right.
I just did a mock booking for two people and for three people for your cruise and it came up $150 per person. So there must be a glitch in the website when you were trying to do it. Or if you were booking thru the phone, like the other poster said, maybe they were not aware of the change. Try again tomorrow.

Don't know, but I'm very excited that I will be on the "New & Improved" Inspiration on her 2nd sailing (Feb 12) after the upgrades.

Does anyone know what the Splendor is giving out? Thanks!

I don't know how up to date these prices are, but at least it will give you some idea:

I don't know why people say there isn't anything to do in Ensenada. We've been on the Ensenada cruise 29 times since 1983 and we always get off the ship! When we first started going back in the early 80's, there were only a couple/few tour options and we did them all including....La Bufadora (usually when we are cruising with friends that either have kids or its their first time to Ensenada), the wine country tour, and my husband has golfed at Bajamar....several times over the years Now, we just go into town and make our way to Mango Mango (used to be Papas and Beer, but the two merged and its now Mango Mango/Papas & Beer) for a drink and some chips and tableside made-to-order fresh guacamole (same old guy has been making it for at least the last 6 yrs that I'm aware of). A few times we've gotten a massage (http://bestbajamassage.com/ A very reputable place. But if you do this, its best to make a reservation online prior to the cruise because they book up).
This thread has prompted me to check out Carnival's site for tours offered for our upcoming Ensenada cruise (#30) and I noticed the list has grown to 19 tour options! The Cheese Cellar & Countryside tour or the Traditional Grape Stomp & Boutique Wine Tasting tours look fun!
But, even if you don't book an excursion, DO get off the ship, walk around, and take in the culture....even if its the tourist culture...LOL I've gone with my husband, with groups of friends, and just me and my girl friend. I've never felt unsafe.

Very true about the family shows. Many times they use adult language and not really funny more shock value which gets boring after a while
Its not just adult "language", because I'm sure they've heard it all before. But there is a lot of adult "subjects" (i.e. sexual). I would feel uncomfortable having someone that young sitting near me, let alone my own kids. I've had my late 20-something daughters sitting near me and I felt uncomfortable laughing at some of the subjects. And I'm sure they did too.
Its not a place for underage kids to be with or without their parents.

Used To be true. Since the introduction of fttf this is no longer the case. Only platinums and those in their cabin can board together regardless of credit card, linked accounts, etc.
Exactly.
-
Each Platinum guest can take up to 5 others who are not.
Putting your luggage tag on their luggage does nothing unless the porters orange tag them, so make sure they have an orange tag before heading into the terminal.
Nope. Not correct.
-
Cannot.
Last November, out of Miami, our (adult) daughter was on our account (we weren't doing it to get her in with us, we were actually paying for her cruise/onboard account). She could not check in with us. As it turned out, she was finished checking in before us and had to wait for us outside the priority check in room. They wouldn't even let her come in the lounge and wait for us to finish checking in.

Some of the newer mattresses have been so hard that they actually hurt my hips enough to wake me up.
People can say that the mattresses are the same.
But I know that they are different.
Same here.

You can always ask the steward to bring you a bucket they use for the buckets of beer and have him keep it filled with us. Put what you need in there for the day and replenish it as needed.
-
Unfortunately, that's the chance you take when booking guarentee rooms. That's why its a cheaper rate.
-
Since many of can't access this site - could someone let us know they add new cruises (especially the November 7-day cruises to Mexico out of LA) and the link for that?
Thanks!! :)
This is the latest and it mostly only goes through July (with a few Aug and Sept dates) but nothing for any cruises out of LA.

Imagination May 29 Tervis Tumbler
(was hoping for the ceramic mug...oh well...next time)
Gave it to my friend that was cruising with me.
-
We've heard varying reports of the Imagination. Our cruise on her was Mom's and my Milestone cruise and it was the worst one we had been on. (We were hoping it was bad because it was the first cruise out of Long Beach.)
It was so bad the we decided to go on the Inspiration leaving 5/20 and had our best cruise.
OP---
Did you do AnyTime dining? If so, how was the line? The Imagination has the whole forward MDR as ATD and the hold up seems to be the shared tables.
Oh SadieN.... It seems like you have been on the LA Ensenada cruises about as many times as me and I'm going in the Imagination day after tomorrow (Thur 5/29) and now you have me concerned. At least I heard the piano bar entertainer is one of the most popular so I'll have that to keep me happy if nothing else! :)

I am sorry, I should have given more info. We have 3 cabins booked 7382, 7380 and 7378. We could all move and go to 7426, 7430 and 7432. $500 savings for trip and double cabin and about $664 for quad. I called and was told all were available and the savings would apply.
MHO...
Cabins 7426,7430,7432 are only 14 cabins down from the original 7382,7380,7378. And they are elevator close. I prefer being close to an elevator, rather than between elevators. And many times I've had cabins right off the elevator and I've never been bothered by noisey people.)
For the savings difference, I'd make the switch.

The insulated ceramic coffee mug on the Inspiration last week.
Hoping they have that on the Imagination this week.
