  1. I’ve seen the same cut backs you have. It’s a shame. The buffet is incredibly small for that size ship (and it’s small now on their other ships as well). When they stopped having tablecloths in the main dining room I understood it saved a lot of time and wash loads but unfortunately the dining room has more of a banquet hall look to it. When you go on a different cruise line you really notice how beautiful the dining room looks with the tablecloths. It also feels like a more upscale dining experience.

They aren't really deals.  They send the same "sale" for pretty much every occasion you can think of, if you have a cruise booked.

Halloween?  Black Friday?  30 days until your cruise?  It's Wednesday?  Here, have a sale!

It's generally very similar pricing on any sale.

I will agree that the sales at Royal are all the same…but their Black Friday ones are lower than all the others. I know, I just booked internet and it is lower than the regular sales. That’s why I was hoping Carnival would have one.

I used the app for the first time this week.

    1. I downloaded the app.  A few glitches but did get it to download.

    2. Opened app and it requires you to open an account.

    3. Opened and account, a few glitches again, but it opened.

    4. Once in the new account, it ask you to upload a copy of your statement, it also allows you to take a picture and upload while the account is open.

    5. Took a statement and redacted the other holdings, amounts, account #, addresses, etc. I did this when I mailed before.

    6. took picture and uploaded and sent to Stockperks.

    7. Received confirm that they would be back to be in to 2 days.

    8. Received email telling me to open Stockperks account and complete cruise information.

    9. Opened account and entered Carnival cruise confirm #, date of cruise, ship name, etc. and hit enter.

    10. Received confirm email stating they would be back in touch.

    11. Received confirm stating that I had received my $100 OBC for my 7 day cruise.

I just downloaded and set up an account…but one thing you didn’t mention is they want your brokerage User ID and Password! That doesn’t sound like something I would want to do. Did you do that?

For the Oct 29, they did a counter offer that we accepted.  The counter was for a YC balcony came two days after our bid (minimum)  for the YC Inside, which we immediately accepted and it was confirmed within 24 hours.  YC Balconies 18015 & 18025 are still available, so you may get one.

Thanks for the info. Just over a week ago we bid (the maximum - $980 total) for YC inside. I saw those two YC balconies are still available so fingers crossed.

We then bid for the Inside Yacht Club and got a Yacht Club balcony for the 7 night Oct 29 cruise,

Congrats! I also bid on an Inside Yacht Club for October 29…still waiting. When did they notify you that you won your bid?

  6. It’s strange that Carnival can’t get it worked out to show the games. On a Royal this past November they showed Sunday afternoon games, Sunday night, Monday night and Thursday night! They had them at numerous big screens (Aqua Theater and pool deck and bars). And to make it even better, all these games were also shown in your stateroom…and the stateroom TV was large. If Royal can do it, Carnival should too.

We leave home on June 10 later in the afternoon, and board the ship the next day.  I think we will just go to Walgreens or CVS for our tests prior to leaving home.

CVS now charges over $100 for the test…no free ones unless your doctor orders one because you are sick. No longer free if for travel purposes. Walgreens may still do it for free but you are not guaranteed they will have an opening for you. It’s easier to just buy the proctored test and know you have it and will have documented results in 15 minutes.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but why would you go this route and pay for a test? Can’t you go to a drug store and test for free?

CVS is charging like $140 for COVID tests now…if you are getting a test to travel. If you getting a test because you suspect COVID or your doctor orders it, it’s covered by insurance.
