I always turn off cellular data but leave the phone on. The reason is that I want to see incoming text (no charge to me) and screen calls for emergencies.
Another good app we use is the new FaceTime messenger, you can even call from it too. Sometimes the imessage just does not work between 2 iPhones so this is easier. I tried to use FaceTime when on the Breeze but the new carnival internet is not that great but I have heard VROOM is far superior.
We already purchased the 2 decide plan for me and my oldest DD to make sure she can keep in touch.

Looking forward to the rest of your review we are in a RFS just one deck above yours in March and can't wait.
-
We are in a RFS for our March Allure cruise, mom wanted a suite and this way we all get the benefits which was the main selling point for us.
-
I use insure my trip and the policy I have for our March Cruise includes cancel for work and will pay 100%. Last trip I bought insurance day one and had cancel for any reason at 100%. Now luckily I have never had to use the insurance but it is a good piece of mind item. For 2a and 2kids I usually still pay under $300 for the insurance. Just check around and read the different policies before selecting.

Everything I saw said Nespresso is used there but that doesn't seem right. I can tell you from experience, do not get the Ninja Coffee bar. We were very disappointed with it.

Check to see if your tour guide island time is different than the ship time. Last trip there we did have a time difference and it was an hour, would assume that your guide knows the ship schedule and would not expect you off the ship that quick after docking.

I looked through a recent eastern one and did not see it, but I saw it on a western route that just went as well. It was on a sea day toward the end of the cruise. Sorry not very helpful I know :(

I have read that there is a toy check out as well and the earlier you get there the better since they run out fast.
I did not start cruising until my youngest was 4 just because I never thought to but now I am hooked. She always wants to know when we are going on the big boat again.
Hope you guys have a great trip

I have a cruise box full of goodies. I have that same charger but for the over the door I have.

I like the mesh pocket outside the main pocket so double storage.
I also purchased this for the shower rod (if there is one)

Then since I have girls I always need more hangers so I have the magnetic hooks and I have the folding hangers which work great for all the extra sun dresses

We had the same situation and between the cruise , hotel and airfare it was over $800 in savings to switch from eastern to the previous week western trip. I don't think the kids really care, as long as they meet new friends and see a beach they are happy :).

Thanks for the review, I have sailed 4 times with Carnival and going on the Allure in March. Looking forward to experiencing something new as well as the ship itself.
Of course my mom might not go back to Carnival since we have a RFS and the suite perks far outshine what Carnival offers.

Have heard conflicts on if you can store hard sided suitcases? Anyone been able to do this? We have no problem on carnival storing them so if anyone has experience with a hard sided case fitting under both beds that would be great.

It's very disappointing that Royal Caribbean who pride themselves as being one of the best, haven't even bothered to send out any information to passengers travelling on their ships to the areas with this virus to inform them about the situation. We only found out through the news and then subsequent research on the Internet.
Happy and safe cruising to those travelling in the near future x

It is sad that I got an email from Carnival today and my next cruise is not until 2017 with them but nothing from Royal and we have 40 days until we leave.
-
I would email the concierge, we had that same room config originally and when I emailed they said that they would allow the kids in the connecting room in with us at anytime when dining, and on barefoot beach since we stop at Labadee. My kids are younger but 17 is still a child/teen I would guess.
-
If your flying Southwest which allows 2 bags per person and you each have one bag you can put them under one person and only pay $20.
This is what we do too, especially with kids and trying to keep luggage down it is less to put 2 bags under me and then 1 under one of the others since we bring 3 bags for 3 of us.

Do you have to be signed up for adventure dining or does that work for everyone?
There are 2 dining types for kids, adventure dining and family my time dining. The family my time the kids eat in the MDR then they go to the kids club and that you have to be signed up for and they pick up from MDR around 6:50. The adventure dining is drop off and they walk the over to windjammer at 5pm.

You would be surprised at how many think that the tags are automatically sent. Just wanted to make sure your order was in.;)
Thanks to those here that I even knew that I could order them. So used to Carnival where I print everything, still have to print one set for our balcony but that is it.
-
You did order them correct?:D
YES :) I think last weekend when the button showed up

I am buying the 2 device plan so that way DD 13 can use iMessage or fb message with me to stay in touch. We loved the hub app on carnival and wish the Allure would get something like it but this works just as well. I would have bought the package anyways. Now for my sister and mom, I will pre arrange meet times......or most likely find them in the casino :)
-
Excited because we leave on the 6th of March on the Allure. So any day now we should get our tags :) we are in a RFS this trip.

Actually I am looking at a kids planner and on the Allure from 5pm to 7pm is adventure dining where the kids can stay for dinner and they will take them to the windjammer marketplace, there is no extra charge for this. Then from 7 to 10 is the evening session and then after 10 it is $7 hour until 2am.

There are recent posts with links to the daily activities. I have printed off a set for our route and gone through them to get an idea of what is going on each day. Might be good plus there will be a little $ if something costs vs is a free activity.

It has been slow today, but I have been able to get in and move around a little.
Service in Allure Dining Room Was Awful
in Royal Caribbean International

We are getting ready to get off ship now and I agree. I have not been impressed with most the food this week, MDR was slow. Chops was overrated and horrible and not worth the extra money. I will write a review later but the service on this ship, except our stateroom attendant, was pretty awful. It won't stop me from maybe sailing again with RCCL but it is not on my top picks list.
