After three phone calls (one last week-two today) and long holds as the Captain's Club rep looked into the problem, we got our points. We are now Elites. This was important because it gives us Diamond status on Royal Carib. and we are doing 2 b2b cruises with them in September.
Happy days are here again.....

Still waiting for our bonus points. It has been over 2 months.
-
Anyone ever done a turn around day in Oslo?
-
What troubles me is that we have yet to hear from a single poster that they had received their bonus points.
-
I did a 10 day cruise on the Legend in Jan, I have a family blog, with a review and pictures. Take a look if you like.

Thanks for posting. Nice to see all the photos of the ship.

As the OP, I guess the answer, like so many things in life is, "it depends."

I'm confused. We are doing a TA on the Legend in September. We are in a D2 cabin on the 7th deck. In some photos and drawings the bed is nearer the front door, in others it is nearer the door to the balcony. Can anyone help me figure it out? Thanks.

Had been told that the points would be there by April 1. Nope. Called and was told, yet again, they are working on it. No estimate given for when they will arrive. (Their records match what I can see on the web site--just shy of Elite.

We will be on the Legend in September. I went to make specialty restaurant reservations. For all three places on Legend it only offers me 8 or 8:30 or 9 pm. What gives? Is it too far out, do they hold back earlier times, or could it really be that full this far off. (we have fully paid for the cruise already). Thanks in advance!

While I received Captains Club credit for our early March cruise, we have not yet gotten our bonus points. I called and was told they would eventually be posted to my account. It got me wondering, has anyone received there bonus points yet?

I've been in AQ on deck 11 on the Connie twice and never experienced what the OP describes.
Were you ever on the verandah in moderate swells? I could hear doors all over the place sliding open and closed (if not latched from the inside).
-
We just came off the Connie and noticed we couldn't lock our door even from the inside. It wasn't a big deal and we didn't even tell the steward about it. It would be annoying if the door mover in rough seas, but we were in calm waters. I once got locked out on the balcony when a loose handle slipped from the open to the closed position.
Ours locked fine from the inside.

Ship: Constellation
CABIN: 1116
Deck 11
Class: Aqua Spa
Bed Location: Near Bathroom
Quiet: Yes
Balcony View-excellent-sticks out farther any of the other Aqua cabins on the floor
No Wind of Soot Problems
Problem for all Aqua spa cabins on 11: the sliding glass door to the verandah cannot be locked from the outside. So if you are sitting out there in any sort of swell the door will slide open or closed, repeatedly, on its own.

We just got back from a lovely cruise on the Connie in Aqua class on 11. But the only thing that was really difficult is sitting out on the verandah. Yes they hang out nicely. Yes they get lots of sun. But don't try sitting out there in anything but calms seas. Every time I was out there with any sort of swells causing the cabin to move, the sliding glass doors would slide open or slide shut repeatedly. They could not be locked open or closed. All day long you could hear the doors of other cabins repeatedly sliding open and closed. I finally wedged my cane between the slider and the frame to hold it closed. They should have put in a locking mechanism from the outside (as there is from the inside.) Not a super big deal but annoying.

With our last cruise (a wonderful 5 days on the Connie) we achieved Elite status. Anyone have any experience how long it takes for the credits from a cruise to appear into a member's account?
-
We will be on her this Thursday. What was the "amazing" entree?
-
I know that some Onboard Ship Credits are refundable if not used and others are not. Does anyone know the refundability of OBC that comes from Bank of America from using the Celebrity credit card?
-
Doing our first back to back cruises on Royal. What are the logistics? Must we actually get off the ship at the end of the first cruise? Do we have to settle our bill at end of the first cruise? Can we carry over any unused OBC? Anything we should know?

As a professional wine judge (honest--see http://winejudging.com/bios/bob_foster.htm) let me comment that while box wines were originally mediocre at best, in recent years there has been a big jump in quality. The wines from Target and a brand called Black Box have been winning gold medals when judged blind against other U S wines at major competitions. Finally the plastic inner bag is not impervious to air. After a few months there will be air penetratrion.

Just for fun I priced 2 tickets from San Diego to Kansas City. With the 2 for 1 offer, at full fare coach it was $654 for 2 via United and/or United express. The same flight on Southwest would be $344 for two. PASS PASS PASS

I got a separate letter from B of A giving me my double super secret code number to use when I call in. The phone number is 800-633-3771.
There is a web site called
http://www.companionbooking.com There is a way to send them questions via e mail.
The offer is NOT as good as it sounds because the ticket you buy must be a FULL FARE ticket.

I have them bring in a second mattress. Raises it up to a comfortable height. Of course, I tip the folks who bring it in.
-
Lisa-I have what may seem to be a very odd question. Can you measure the height from the floor to the top of the mattress please? I'm very tall and low beds are very hard on my crummy knees. I can't tell from any of the photos if it will be a problem for me or not. Thanks in advance. (We will be on board in September on a fjords cruise and then a b2b TA.)

On one cruise my wife got an infection from a cut on her foot. On another cruise she got noro. We found the medical staff to be quite good, but as already noted, expensive.
Fortunately our health insurance reimburses us for care when none of their facilities are available.

Kaisatsu-can you please help us with some Oslo questions?
We will be staying at the Clarion Hotel Royal Christiania in late August and early September before departing on a cruise. What can you tell us about the neighborhood?
Are there any restaurants in the vicinity that you like?
I am disabled and walk with a cane. Are there ramps in most places so i won't have to negotiate stairs or is that uncommon in Oslo?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give us.
