Hoss:
As above posters noted, the Grand Pacific will be open for lunch on embarkation day. In the past, an impromptu baggage check service was setup in the Bliss Lounge. If your stateroom is not yet ready, check your carryon bags st the Bliss and head to the Grand Pacific for a relaxing lunch and/or a pleasant stroll around the ship.
That is our plan. We will also be on next Monday’s 12-day Gem Cruise to the Caribbean.

Gem cruisers - Sorry to report - I met Leo on the Jewel this past August. He was doing Alaska and after that he will be sailing on NCL Asian routes.

Hi Pam. We are returning once again to the warm Caribbean after Thanksgiving. Should we look for you guys on-board ?

Am hoping that Patrick’s move from the Gem to Escape is incorrect, as I look forward to meeting him again on the 11-26-18 Gem to Caribbean.

I had Patrick as the concierge on the Gem last December. I thought he was amazing & extremely attentive.

St Kitts - beautiful beaches, very clean island, and the locals are super friendly.

I've used AT&T in Old San Juan, it worked as well as anywhere else on the mainland US, with no additional data charges.

I like the feel of the ocean and the taste of champagne.

I've had the Le Fizz on both the Breakaway and Gem. It looks to be a standard fleet wide option.

Recall the shallow kiddie pool having steps and the adult pool having metal ladders.

I️ remember the NCL sponsored Pub Crawl as an at sea activity. Did it 4-5 years ago, cost was approximately $25.00. NCL guide led the group to 8-10 bars, doing some sort of contest or game at each venue.
Probably became less popular when NCL began offering the Ultimate Beverage Package.

LVCruiser65 - we were also fortunate enough to snag an upgrade to the Haven. Very excited to finally participate the Haven experience.
From what I’ve read, the Gem Haven does not have its own bar nor its own dining facility. A private beakfast is offered in the Moderno and lunch at Cagney’s.

Gem is a much nicer ship. The Breakaway has a lot more on-board activities & attractions, but also a lot more passengers also vying for those same activities.
However, the Breakaway HAD a better itinerary, with eight ports of call, all in the Eastern Caribbean. That all changed when Hurricane Irma crashed through.

Wolfe,
Can you advise (1) who is the cruise director and (2) what singers/soloist is performing in Bar City?
Thank you

I was on the Breakaway last December - the beverages plan covered all alcoholic drinks in Margaritaville. However, the bar closed each day sat 5PM.

Have done it several times. As reeinaz already mentioned, you need to call. Make sure you are charged for only one set of transfers as as well.
