  1. Don't think there was any judging or critiquing , just stated a simple fact that there are people on here that do Flame for certain things.

Nowhere did I say it was right or wrong, just have read many , many threads where it happens.

I was not meaning to infer that you were judging in anyway beerman! Your reply was fair and informative and appreciated! :)

  2. We had a Nellies Beach cabana in January while on Legend. Cabanas book really fast so since it is close to your sailing date, they are all reserved. However, I understand that they hold some back for people to book onboard. I would try first thing when you get on the ship. The number of people is 6. We had 4 in January. If your number doesn't go over six you will be ok. There have been reports of them allowing 7 but not sure if that will be allowed. I think that it was worth the price.

We booked our Nellies Beach cabana for our Allure cruise about a month ago so they are booked really early. However, it is not open yet for our December cruise on Explorer.

Also, the over the water and hillside cabanas may have a ladder to go into the water. That might be difficult with children the age of yours. I think that you would be better with a beach cabana. There are also gazebo type things (not sure what they call them) that are right on the beach. Not sure the price of those. That might be good since you have small children.

Thanks for the info!!! I didn't think that they allowed non-suite or those below D+ to book the beach or over water cabanas. I thought it was only the hillside ones.

As for the size of our party it would be 4 adults and 4 kids, so not sure if that would be allowed...

  3. First yes you can use your pkg. at Labadee and CoCo cay.

Second get ready to get flamed for asking about the sharing part.

Flame Away!!! I can handle it!

Thanks much for confirming the Labadee and Coco Cay part. As for the sharing I don't understand why people have to judge/critique. I'm merely looking to see if anyone has experience with trying it...

  4. My wife, 2 darling daughters (ages 6 & 8) and I sailing on OOTS to Western Caribbean in 2 weeks and one of the stops is of course Labadee. We have a Jr Suite booked.

I was hoping to rent/reserve one of the Cabanas. I know that most are only for Grand Suite and so we are not 'eligible' as we are only in a Jr. Suite. But I believe there are some at Nellie's beach that those in 'lower' cabin categories can reserve. Having not had a cabana before I had some questions:

1.) I cant reserve online, the Shore Excursion menu says 'Inquire Onboard'. Can anyone tell me where on board I reserve, and is there anyway to do so prior to the cruise?

2.) How many people can use the Cabana? I.E. - we are cruising with good friends and their kids as well. If I'm able to get a cabana can they use it with us, or do they have to reserve one as well?

3.) For anyone that has had a Cabana in the past, do you find it worth the price?

    Any info would be appreciated!!!

  5. Does anyone know if the various beverage/drink packages work while at Labadee and Coco Cay? I seem to remember using my cruise card for drinks while onshore those days...

Last question, has anyone here bought a package and used it to 'share' drinks with their cabin mate/significant other? I.E. - Order a second drink 5 minutes later and once I've walked away from bar or server leaves I 'gift' the drink to my wife. Did anyone run into any problems doing so?

  6. I love your post!!! My wife and I are taking our kids, two beautiful daughters ages 6 and 8, for their first cruise in just under 2 weeks! We have spent the past 8 months trying to explain to them just how big a cruise ship is, and how much there is to do, but I don't think they have any idea.

To top it off we are sailing Oasis so the 'boat' really should blow them away! Any suggestions on must do activities for a couple of first time cruising girls? They will be in Adventure Ocean a lot I'm sure but my wife and I want this to be something they talk about for years!

  7. I agree .... and I'll be "testing" as many of the new dishes as I can :) when I sail Sept 16 on FOS .... Long Live Crusin' !!!!!! :D

Thanks much to the OP for the posting, pictures, and info. I for one am very much looking forward to trying the new menu for myself, my wife and I cruise FOS in just under 2 weeks. :D

I also agree with the many folks posting about not jumping to conclusions. What was posted here was the FIRST time the new menu was tried on a ship. I fully expect it will take a few weeks to iron out all the details and execution issues. And honestly, there is a lot of variety on the menu. And you can always order a second or third option.

Food is subjective, the only way to determine if you like it is to try it yourself!
