  1. I booked that cruise as soon as it came out to get the room I wanted. There were plenty of balcony rooms for quite a while & all of a sudden they were all gone...in like a few days. I have a feeling that many rooms will hit when final payment come around. I love, love the Connie because of the Rendevous lounge & T pool.

  2. I am just off the repo too. One night I saw a old guy leave the dining room with shorts, a baseball shirt with Jeatter on the back & big clunky sneakers. His wife was dressed fine. I think they let him pass due to his age but I did mention his appearance to my husband. A few couples were dresssed to the nines every single night much to the delight of the passengers. All manner of dress was on this cruise. Everybody seemed to do thier own this dresswise. I just think that since there we so many old pro's that the need to dress up was long past. My husband left his Tux home & the last formal night did not wear a tie. This was an unusual cruise due to the amount of diamonds, pluses & pinnacles. I found most people dressed very nicely but not all done up like shorter cruises due the 14 days & airline weight restrictions. The older dressed up couple that was the talk of the ship had ten large bags that could barely fit on the porters cart. Now that was unusual!

  3. There is a clause in the terms & conditions that says if you change the cruise, they may reduce the OBC to the amount you would have gotten with the new NCC. Initially, they said they would let us change once or twice without reducing the OBC, but not too long ago someone posted that they were cracking down on that.

I think the last time I bought the next cruise voucher I was told I could change cruises, that was a big selling point. I'm not suprised that they cracked down, it was a good deal then, not a good deal anymore.

  4. We gave our Diamond club server a tip the last night.............My question is: What mixed drinks are included? My husband had a Baileys but we could never figure out what to order if he didnt want one. I asked our server what else we can get but I was never really clear other than the wine. Any examples of a mixed drink for the Diamond Lounge??

  5. We just got off the Explorer on Saturday too. Almost every night around 8:00 went went to Maharaja's for the Diamond event. Three drinks per diamond is great. My husband had a Baileys every night but there was a lot of wine drinking going on. I'm sure if you have more than 3 it would be no problem if you are a regular.

Maharaja's has a nice quiet elegent feel to it. Our server was such a doll that she hugged us when we left. The whole staff on the ship was wonderful. We will be sailing again Nov 1st & our server told us that the drink servers rotate every 2 weeks. Hopefully we will see her again for the diamond event since friendly atmosphere makes it nice to talk to our server. They were all great in the diamond lounge. Enjoy.

  6. We had 6 at our cabana on the cruise of 9/20/13. They give you 4 big bottles of water no matter how many people you have, the chilled champagne & a fruit plate. Don't get your hopes too high about the buffet. Its no great shakes but at least you won't have to deal with the hungry masses. There are a few picnic tables with umbrellas right next to the U shaped buffet. Hamburgers, hot dogs, ribs, seafood caboobs, small corn, maybe salad. Nothing to write home about. You can have 2 floats but really can drag more than that out if you don't all go together. The closest water is at the crescent beach with the zillion chairs & people. My husband & I prefer to walk down to the less crowded area we go by ourselves but on this cruise the 6 of us girls felt very special with a Cabana. The seating & loungers there are very comfortable too. Also a couple of cats prowl the area which I thought was wonderful.

  7. My advice is to get a Paula Youg catalog or look at the styles online. Order one & if you don't like just return it, I done this many times. I wear mine at night. I also wear one one the weekend if I don't feel like washing & styling my hair just for a mall run.

  8. We used Capital for our 12/3 to 12/8 cruise on the Jewel & were very happy. Same driver dropped us off & picked us up. We didnt have to schlep our luggage like the one who were parked at the Tampa port. No complaints at all with the service.
