  1. Pack your suitcase then take out half the stuff, maybe more. :-) seriously, you don't need much when going to the Caribbean.

Also do your own research on the ports and ship. Join the roll call and participate in the anticipation with your fellow cruisers.

Read the fun times every night and plan out a few things you want to do the next day. Stay flexible and try things you normally wouldn't, you never know what fun lurks around the corner :-)

  2. We are a group of four women of a certain maturity. In Curacao we are going on the Irie bus tour. I've read some very good reviews on the company and tour so feel comfortable going on an independent excursion. We still haven't decided on Aruba, Grand Turk will be a beach day at the port and walk down to jacks shack to check out the famous dogs. Not sure what to do DR but have read many reviews that there isn't much in the port. This is one port where I would spend the extra money on a ship excursion rather than going independent.

  3. A few years back sailing from Los Angeles to Hawaii we sailed 3.5 day through a several tropical storms. I thought it was a cyclone but the waves were only 30 feet. Ship made it fine, most passengers were ok but a little green.

  4. Love your review. And very sorry to hear about your kitty. They sure bring a lot of joy but oh how it hurts to let them go. Stay strong.

We have a small group going on the same cruise in October. Still trying to figure out what to do in Aruba. Looking forward to hearing the rest of your adventures.

  5. I've heard different stories. The cabin sink water seems to be fine but I would bring a refillable water bottle and fill it on the Lido deck. There is filtered water, ice and, if you want to get fancy, lemons.

  6. I was on the Inspiration and was put in a room that backed to the elevators. I thought this was going to be an issue but never once heard the elevators.

If you are a lite sleeper bring earplugs. All the noise I heard was from loud passengers walking in the hallway.

  7. I agree. Don't convince anyone. Two years ago 3 friends of mine went on a cruise. Another group of friends joined. We all had a good time. Last year same group went but we swapped room mates. Had a miserable time and now a very strained friendship. Choose wisely.
