Quick question - I'm thinking of buying the "Canned Soda Package" which is 6 cans of soda for our cruise to have with a small bottle of spirits which I'm also purchasing onboard.  It says that the bottle of spirits will be delivered to my stateroom on embarkation but will the soda also be in our stateroom or do I have to get this from the bar each time?  We are not getting a drinks package this cruise.

We just went thru this and the sodas will NOT be in your room when you board , you have to call room service and that is the problem they take the phone off the hook because they claim they so busy and i had to see a supervisor on the second day and he went and got me the 12 sodas i had purchased. Unlike Carnival that will have your sodas in your room when you arrive. If you notice on the Princess web site there is no way for you to specify what flavor of soda you want. Lesson learned !!!

    Hello everyone,

We just got upgraded as a courtesy by Carnival on the Breeze to a Cloud 9 Spa cabin nice! on the 12 floor. To those familiar with these Cloud 9 rooms what can we use and how can we make the best use of this nice N/C upgrade? Thanks

You are not eligible to use the spa unless you get passes.

Thanks to everyone who weighed in on whether we should take our Caribbean cruise on the Sky Princess in December or Caribbean Princess in July. We decided to go with a cruise in December, mostly because of the heat in July and possibility of bad weather.

But now...I'm also considering going on the Regal that same week instead of the Sky. Does anyone have an opinion about that? The Regal is a few hundred dollars cheaper per person (there are 4 of us) and we can get connecting cabins, which is a big plus for us. Our cabins on the Sky are next door, but not connecting. But the Sky will be so new, which is appealing! Any advice or thoughts welcome...thank you!

Sky is newer = more $$$ but Sky is newer.????????????? Sky would be my choice.

We are currently on Meraviglia, in YC, and our butler's assistant told us that one of his passengers (a young guy of about 50) suffered a heart attack while on his excursion in Copenhagen yesterday, was taken directly to the hospital, and passed away.  He was traveling with just his wife - hard to imagine what she is going through.  He told us that he had to pack up all the stuff in their cabin so it could be taken to her.  It hit HIM hard, because not long ago his Dad passed away suddenly and unexpectedly back in his home country of Mauritius, while he was working on a cruise.

A good reminder that none of us knows how many days we have so live them to fullest.

So sad but you are correct , enjoy everyday to it's fullest.

I guess you just don't get my sense of humor.

Matt has charisma and got people to do things, join in sign alongs, relate to little kids and big kids...  he just has the "it" factor.  He draws every audience in like a magnet and yet he is warm and genuine.  It is something special to see.

We have sailed with him and yes he is a very good CD but a crush? i don't think so .

okay, one more video of the night.  Sorry the sound goes in and out a little, don't know if I was putting my hand over mic or what.  FYI - this is all with my GoPro5 black.  Really love this little thing, great quality in a small package.

So... we had dinner in main dining room, Your Time Dining.  Your S&S card says to go on Deck 5 to the check-in desk, not to the dining room.  We went there and they gave us a slip of paper with a table number and told us which floor (decks 3 and 4 are the dining room locations at back of ship).  We went down, got seated.  Nothing different after that.

However, we were then told that from the App on your phone you can now request the table and go directly to dining room when it says ready.  You just walk in and show your phone to person at door.... WOW, that was easy!  No need to go to the checkin desk at all.  We noticed some people still weren't used to this idea and just showed up to dining room like the old way on ships.  Either way, you get a table and same food.

After dinner, we walked around some more, went to listen to band in Ocean Plaza, then to Welcome Aboard show in the main theater, Liquid Lounge.  Its the same welcome show on every ship now, just the host does a little different thing with his part before introducing the Playlist Performers.  Its good so we always go.

After that we walked down to Lobby area and Matt was already there, doing his Thing...

Ah yes, Matt Mitcham....  I think by the end of the first day every woman and half the men on the ship had a crush on him.

    more tomorrow!

Why would a man have a crush on Matt? Please !!!!!!!!!!!!

Allesandra was there when we were last month. The waiters were all nice and capable during our cruise but service was not good. Very inattentive and rushed. We loved the Yacht Club and would go back, but we'd consider eating in the MDR next time. Just our experience. Others may differ but it really was the only thing we didn't care for when it came to our cruise.

If you are in the YC you won't have a table in the MDR, but you can eat in the buffet.

I have looked for something current on this subject but cannot find anything.

Is the dress code for formal night enforced? We have read that men are required to, at least,

wear a sport coat. We are doing a 14 day cruise from Hamburg in August & would like to

eliminate as much packing as we can. This is our 1st MSC cruise.

    Thanks for any input!!

Not enforced, no sport coat or tie required.

I understand that a Back to back cruise is where you sail back to your starting point on the same ship and that it makes your trip twice as long. Besides only having to pay for the flight  once, but having twice as long a cruise, are there any other advantages, cost discounts or perks?  Thanks!

    Discounts? are you kidding?

Thanks for all the responses. I think we are going to go with deck 7. As much as I would love to be on the lido deck, I'm afraid it could ruin the cruise for all of us if one person is sick the whole time. I'm thinking deck 7 will still be fairly close to everything and mid-aft might be a better place for us.

If the seas are rough it does not matter what deck you are on.

While cruising, I love to find a comfortable, quiet place with a view to curl up and write letters. Does anyone have recommendations for the best places on board the Royal Princess? Thank you!

    The Sanctuary.

I know this has probably been asked before, but how do we make reservations for the shows? The app says reservations are required, but I can't find a way to do it in the app or online. Is this one of those things that has to be done onboard, first day?

    You reserve when you board.

Hello everyone!!!! We are sailing on the Horizon shortly. My wife is wondering if the aft pool is adults only. I know last year on the Vista they weren't. Just curious if they have gone back to adults only. The pools tend to get a bit crazy at times.

    Thanks a lot

    Heimey

    It's not.

Is Cucina still open and free for lunch? It shows as a dining option on several of the ships but only lists dinner with a fee.

We have eaten there before on Magic, etc on embarkation day to avoid the chaos of LIdo. Wanted to do so again on Sunrise in July.

    Free for lunch.
