  1. We have a Royal Suite booked for next year on the Constellation for the 4 of us and the Concierge room next to it is available. Since we are traveling with our 2 kids, we thought it may be a good idea to book that room so they have their own bedroom/bathroom. However, if we book this, am I correct in assuming they will be able to join us in Michaels Club and Luminae? If not, I'll just keep the 1 suite. Thanks!

  2. Thanks for responding. They did have an offer for the Garden Villa. We bid on that, but not very much (and I'm not expecting we'll get it), as all that space would be a waste in our minds. We've done the Penthouse on Celebrity, and although very nice, we found the space was a bit of a waste and would've been just as happy in the Royal suite or even Celebrity suite.

  3. I've never been on this ship and we have a 2 bedroom in the Haven area with 4 traveling, including 2 kids ages 2 and 5. I got the email to bid, but I don't know if it would even be worth it given that the Owners suite is 1) Not in the Haven proper and 2) does not have a second bedroom.

I do like that it includes a minibar, which we'd make use of, but other than that I don't know if it would be worth bidding at all and just stay where we are. Can anyone help advise what they would do?

  4. I know the Celebrity website has taken a whopping amount of negative feedback, but I had a good laugh when I clicked on a cruise and then tried to view the 360 degree view of a room. Up popped up "the page is no longer available" along with an old picture of the Celebrity Century. Made me laugh. Really reminded me of the functionality of the Celebrity website when the Century was still in the fleet.

  5. I agree with Chucktown; you have to translate Celebrity-speak:

*Kobe Beef = American Kobe Style Beef Blend

    *Dry Aged = Wet Aged

    *Prime = Commercial

*Nominal Fee = $10 Hot dogs

    *Homemade = From a factory

    *Gourmet = $10 Hot dogs

*Top Deck = Two Floors Below Top Deck

    *W.T.F = $10 Hot dogs

    *Ghost Pepper = Jalapeno

    Hahaha.

  6. I've moved a lot and flown Delta a lot when we lived in Minnesota and American when we lived in Texas. There isn't much difference between the 2. If the price was the same, I'd pick Delta, but at $150 ($100 after check bag fees on both flights), take American. Some people will say they had a horrible experience on American or Delta, but those are rare. It's not a long international flight, you'll get a free soda or coffee on either, the seats on both have the same amount of legroom, and the seats are about the same in terms of comfort. Save the $100, it's not worth the extra amount at all.

  7. Thank you, everyone who posted. It's an Alaska Air flight, and San Diego is a small hub of theirs, so if there are issues, there is a chance they'll have another plane available, but it has to be certified to do the flight to Hawaii, and most aren't. The other option after that is a Hawaii air flight that leaves later.

The latest flight is 7:30 PM on the day before out of LAX, other flights that leave later do an overnight connection and basically back to a flight that leaves day of departure. That means leaving around 3-4 and dealing with traffic and possible missing the flight. I've literally sat in traffic for 1 hour just a mile outside of LAX parking terminal and nearly missed flights because of it.

LAX is a better option in case theres an issue, but getting there is not a fun experience. Back up plan would be to miss ship due to late flight, overnight in HNL and take inter-island to next port of call. Certainly not ideal, but much better than a Transatlantic cruise with 7 sea days to start out or another with a couple of sea days before the next port.

  8. I just found out that due to work I'll have to fly in the day of embarkation in Hawaii. I hate doing that, but it looks like I won't have much choice. Flying out of San Diego, there is a 9:45 AM flight that arrives at 12:45. The ship leaves at 8 PM, is this cutting it too close? We could travel to LAX if we really had to for an earlier flight...Any input is appreciated! FYIW, its on the Jewel in October.

  9. I was thinking they would have to clear the ship when it arrives the day before, but I don't know about customs, which would probably not be available that early in the AM or the day before. Does anyone know who I could contact at NCL to figure this out? The later flight isn't terrible, but it involves a lot of time killing and perhaps doing that with a lot of luggage...

  10. We are doing the Hawaii to Papeete trip in October and looking at flight options back to the US, there is either a 7:30 AM flight or 11:45 PM flight. The ship is scheduled to get in the day before at 5 PM or so and disembarkation is the following day. Is it possible to make a 7:30 AM flight or will this not be possible since typical disembarkation starts later?
