  1. The first thing you want to do is contact the port agent, who will contact the ship and the next port agent and make the necessary arrangements.

If you haven't already booked the flight, if you book it through HAL then it's their problem and expense to get you caught up.

The flight is booked through HAL, so that's why I'm not too concerned about missing the ship, especially since the next port is pretty close. I just wanted to know what needs to happen if our flight does get delayed as it gets in at 11:30 AM, which is only about 2 hours before the HAL posted 'latest flight should arrive no later then'…Thanks for the help.

  2. So we've decided to take a risk it for variety of reasons and fly in the day our ship leaves. It leaves out of Barcelona with the next stop Valencia. If we miss the ship, we can easily rent a car one way and meet it the next day as Valencia is only about 3 hours away. Has anyone missed the ship before and caught up with it later? Can you explain how this works? Just want to go in knowing what to do if our flight does get delayed.

    Thanks!

  3. First time on Seabourn in March and wondering if anyone can tell me what the transportation options will be to travel from the pier back to the airport. We are traveling with a child (it's a port intensive trip, so I didn't think she would bother people as we'll be off the ship most of the time), and thought it would be easiest if Seabourn arranges a bus, but we weren't sure if they do this or not.

    Thanks!

  4. Check Lufthansa. You can get a one way MSP to BCN in October for $769.

I saw that, however that is on a consolidator website, which has had mixed reviews. The Lufthansa website itself does not have that fare and it's a codeshare flight so it's actually on United. I might just go ahead and book that flight on the consolidator website as United has a fairly reliable system, but it is a bit concerning about the negative reviews about the consolidator.

  5. The other question I have is that if the drink cost 7.95, are you stuck paying the 7.95 or do you just pay the 95 cents difference? It would make sense to pay the difference, but it would be silly to have to pay the full 7.95. I think on Celebrity you just pay the difference and they don't have a drink limit either. Not that I could drink 15 drinks a day, but the limit that's noted is kind of annoying.

  6. Thanks, Glenn. I should have said booking the flight to Barcelona via HAL as I have the flight from Fort Lauderdale taken care of. One way flights to Europe are pricey, but booking with the cruise line itself looks like it could be much less, if you can book one way through HAL.

  7. To europe. We are doing a transatlantic and just moved to MN. When our cruise arrives in Fort Lauderdale, I have a business meeting I need to go to so my company will pay for my flight back to MN. Is there a way to do this? It doesn't seem to let me do this on the HAL website, only a roundtrip or 2 legs as it is, since it's a transatlantic.

    Thanks!

  8. Our daughter has been on 3 cruises, 2 on Disney (obviously really enjoyed those) and one on HAL. The one on HAL she was only 11 months old, but we found her some things to do. At 2 and a half, I think she'll be more entertained by things onboard, it's just too bad they don't let you go to club HAL with her and watch her so she can play in there. It's a Transatlantic cruise so I doubt there will be a ton of kids onboard. I guess I can always ask the kids staff what they recommend. Thanks for all of the input!

  9. Just a quick, petty question… we're looking at booking a PS on our next trip on HAL. Our last one we were in an SC and I HATED that the shower gel and shampoo were in a dispenser on the wall. I thought this was really tacky for a suite. Anyways, is the PS the same way or do they still provide individual Elemis bottles like the used to a couple of years ago?

    Thanks!

  10. Thanks for the responses. I understand where people are coming from with 'get your kid out of there if she acts up', so no offense taken. I was just trying to get my 'value' for booking a suite, but it sounds like the best approach may be getting a babysitter. She's been on Disney and HAL and sat through an hour and a half dinner(s) before with no problems as long as we come prepared with crayons, small toys, etc.. Sounds like Qsine might be ok, but we'll have to figure it out when we get onboard I think.

This brings me to another question then…could you order from the speciality restaurants and eat it in your stateroom, like on a suite on Disney? Or is it only the MDR that you can order?

    Thanks again.

  11. My apologies, we'll be on the Millennium, which I think has Qsine. We were last on the Constellation, so that's what I must have been thinking. So are we better off just getting a babysitter? How long does Qsine take for dinner? Thanks for everyones input.

  12. Hi all,

We're traveling on the Constellation in September with our 2 year old daughter. We're traveling in a suite, and since we're getting 2 free speciality dinners, I was wondering what people would recommend? I saw on the Celebrity website that the only restaurant is the The Olympic that she wouldn't be allowed in. She's generally really good and can make it through an hour and a half dinner easily.

Anyone been to Blu with a toddler or Qsine?

    Thanks for any input!
