  1. Thanks! The only reason I ask about reservations is because I'm going with a group of 12. I imagine we won't eat together every day but for the days we will it might be helpful to do reservations since we're a big party. That was something we were considering about staying in traditional since we didn't know about the reservations.

  2. Also how does Select Dining reservations work? You can make reservations for your party at a specific time? Is it recommended to do this before sailing because time slots fill up?

I've done Select Dining once and we just showed up at the dining room when we wanted to eat. We didn't know about the reservations.

    Thanks!

  3. Right now I'm signed up for the 8:30pm dinner slot and am on the wait list for the 6:15pm dining slot. Some people in my party want to wait to see if we can get off the wait list instead of switching to Select Dining. In afraid Select will become full and we'll be stuck with 8:30pm. Does Select have a limit that often gets filled?

I think they want to wait instead of prepaying gratuities. I think I may switch my room regardless what the rest of my party wants to do!

    Thanks!

  4. I recently booked a cruise through a travel agent (along with 8 of my other family members). This travel agent would not have been my first choice, but another person in my party chose them.

Last week we put down a deposit (I believe Wednesday). When I asked her Friday--three days later--for the Celebrity booking number (which it seems I need to book shore excursions through the Celebrity web site) she said she wouldn't have it until this week (which I still haven't received). Does it usually take that long?

  5. For snorkeling I take a dry bag (can buy at REI, EMS, etc.), put my stuff in, fill with air, and seal closed. Then I use string to tie it to my body with a bit of line, like a leash. It'll float behind you as you swim. For extra insurance I'll put my stuff in a zip lock before putting it into the dry bag. I usually only bring the essentials so you're not dragging too much stuff!

This also takes barely any room in your suitcase since it packs flat.

This is what a dry bag looks like:
